Well at least OoT was an actual evolution of the formula that kept all what people loved; the lore, the music, the dungeons. BOTW has none of that, it's really just an average, i'd even say subpar, open world with a zelda paintcoat.

Just looking at RetroArch, everything up through dreamcast has had improvements to the point of being somewhat playable, the exception being the saturn (saturn emulation on ARM is almost always shit). No PS2. Dolphin runs via Lakka but I've heard it has mixed results as far as the actual emulation is concerned

There are two ways to go about that, one is to make a NAND backup before you do anything, stay 100% offline when homebrewing and then restore said backup before you go back online. The other option is EmuNAND, where you stay 100% offline in EmuNAND and don't homebrew in SysNAND

You don't need a jig. You can make your own if you want, buy one if you're uncertain, but there are multiple ways to hack the Switch without one.

It's impossible to load the payload on patched switches so you won't do anything. Of course it can change in the future (not too soon, even if some entry points would be found, I highly doubt that 'hackers' would release is immediately).
