there will never be a game as soulful as digimon world 3
I can't believe someone was autistic enough to make this
I don't even play Pokemon games anymore and I'm still tired of this immaturity and tribalism among Digimon fans
Based and Redpilled
I like both
I like both
the lamest part of digimon is that multiple digimon can evolve into the same digimon
made each digimon feel a bit more generic
Digimon World 1 has way more soul.
This isn’t “Digimon fans” it’s literally mentally ill shitposters. This only started becoming frequent once the Digimon Cyber Sleuth port got announced and console war shitters came out of the wood works along with shitposters already taking potshots at SwSh.
>You're in the rant hole where I rant about whatever my 15$ a month plus patrons want me to rant about and you can get one of these by being one of those and this one comes from an anonymous user and it's about OP and whether or not he's a faggot.
>"OP is still engaging in tribalism when Nintendo's already fucked the corpse of Digimon so thoroughly no one but nostalgia babies talks about it, what are your thoughts on this?"
>So, I don't know much about the lore of Digimon but I know it means a lot to some people so I think it's worth noting that OP is a faggot solely because he is making a valued franchise fight another, bigger and more acclaimed franchise for the sake of faggotry. GameFreak is shitty about the NationalDex and graphics of Sword and Shield by making excuses but it's not worth comparing something that's a video game, marketing monument to something that's a literal pebble. OP is a faggot because of tribalism and that's my rant.
>If you want a rant of your own you can get one by being a 15$+ patron and pick a topic of your choosing.
I don't ever see anyone talking about this game
youtube.com
you can really like both, you know
there are a number of digimon games that I don't like, but the three recent ones are amazing
pokémon however I like most of the games, but the 2 recent generations really let me down. I won't buy gen VIII
this. it's cool in a sense (in cyber sleuth you can reach any digimon from any digimon iirc), but it really takes the uniqueness out of the world. it doesn't help that the digivolutions are changed every new game/anime season.
Not a single one of these threads has been made by a Digimon fan. I am almost completely sure ALL of them were made by a single butthurt /vp/ reject.
it's just your nostalgia speaking. that's the same as someone saying there will never be a game as soulful as pokémon red, which is just retarded.
>backtracking: the game
no thanks. cyber sleuth and hacker's memory are better.
>On a PS VITA.
OUCH!
Can anyone explain to me how Digimon works when it comes to monsters and evolutions and so on?
Pokémon is very simple, i.e. Charmander -> Charmeleon -> Charizard. But I remember the Digimon anime had things like the "wrong" digievolution for Greymon (which looked like a skeleton, I had a toy of it and it was pretty neat), and I've seen charts that make it seem like there's LOTS of cross-digievolutions.
Also, explain how that works in the PS1 Digimon games too.
Digimon aren't animals. Which is the big reason I've never been a huge fan and why it can't replace Pokemon for me.
I still won't be playing Gen VIII.
Digimon World 3 would have been a perfect game if it weren't for the backtracking.
Basically every anime comes up with its own gimmicky evolution as a selling point and that evolution mechanic usually does not apply to any Digimon that aren't in the anime the mechanic comes from.
Anyway, the whole original point of Digimon is that it was (and to a degree still is) a V-pet franchise where the monsters evolve depending on how you raise them, and so that's why every Digimon has so many possible evolutions. It's what the V-pets did. All the various TCG shit and mobile games that no one played do have a bunch of evolution paths that aren't in anything else though, which tends to bloat the evolution lists to be larger than they usually actually are
I can't wait for the Cyberslut PC port and Survive. It's true that monster design in Digimon can be absolutely dreadful a lot of the time, but the games are so much fun.
It's basically like Tyrogue, but with more possibilities. You can get different evolutions based on stats. This includes both battle stats and raising stats (such as discipline). The anime digivolutions are just one path of the evolution tree.
Finally, some Digimon have special conditions you can meet instead of stats, e.g. number of battles won, weight or even location.
That would be your usual Digimon World system.
Digimon doesn't have a single, specific "mainline" series with a specific set of mechanics, so what "type" a digimon is or what their evolutions are changes media to media and game to game (though types aren't really a thing outside the games)
generally speaking, though, there';s no single evolution line for digimon, digimon have multiple evolution options, and those often change , again, specific media to media.
>Digimon has a mature story
Zoomers have really no awareness.
Thanks anons.
I do remember the show going crazy with eolutions, the second series had pretty cool evolutions and designs.
Maybe I'll boot up the Digimon World games some day.
These days there's two major vidya lines, the world games, which are still the sort of monster raising sims, and the story games, which are more traditional JRPG's. These get compared to pokemon but they are more akin to SMT.
Also confusingly a lot of the story titles had their titles localized as world games.
Except one big difference you're not taking into account: Digimon is backed by an industry giant while Pokemon is essentially a small time indie developer with barely over a hundred members.
>Pokemon is essentially a small time indie developer with barely over a hundred members
when will this meme die?
pokemon is a $90 billion franchise that comprises most of game freak's business.
digimon is one of many franchises under bamco's umbrella and it's never been prioritized over gundam, dragon ball, one piece, precure, etc.
