I dont understand how the other updates are supposed to add any more real content. I get that the new characters might make people run the game again, but i have no idea how in depth these new characters actually are. How was Julius or whatever in aria of sorrow?

Speaking as a huge Castlevania and mostly Igavania fan who only have a Switch and a Mac... they would need a miracle or full one remake to fix the Switch remake. I am frustrated beyond believe.
Julius mode, both in Aria and Dawn was like an arcade mode. It felt like playing with a classic NES Belmont (Rondo of Blood/Symphony of the Night Ritcher) in a Igavania map.
You lack all the upgrades and powers that Soma had, and only count with the classic Castlevania weapons, and can only upgrade you HP by killing bosses. You can explore the whole castle from the start, or most of it, so it's a challenge of either go to the end with the less number of HP upgrades possible, or killing all the boss the same with your new moveset.
Sister mode on Portrait of Ruins on the other hand was a magic only run.

Hearing about how shit the switch version is is very disappointing since that's the only way I want to play this game, comfy in my bed in handheld mode. Some games are just meant to be played that way, not tethered to your computer chair or couch.
