Saints Row 1 had a really based radio. Almost all punk rock or alternative. 2 not so much.

SR2 is STILL the most fun crime-based sandbox ever. Not the best, but the most fun for sure.

It had shit missions and a shit map.
It's a shame since it's otherwise pretty good. People like to bitch about the clothes being simplified, but 3 still had a massive selection of outfits you could combine.

What are some games like this that you think did it right?

Vice City and San Andreas. They had their crude jokes and humor but as far as the story goes they kept a consistent tone. Can't say the same about 4.

This, I finished SR2 again on my 360 like 2 two months ago and had a blast then decided to play 3rd which I preordered and 100% at the time it came out and I turned it off after like 1 hour. The missions really are boring as hell and somehow it feels so empty.

SR2 is like life support for my 360, as long as the PC version is terrible and never gets a new port there will never be a better option for playing the game.

Fuck, it even still has online since it used XBL instead of gamespy, last I checked.

It was pretty much playable on my machine, after I installed the unofficial patch and moved it to an SSD. There's also some weird voodoo trick with Windows prefetching, but that never did anything for me.

Saints Row 2 really had the best open world map of all time. I was replaying it recently and its wild how many unique and memorable areas there are. Each neighborhood has its own personality and hidden secrets.

No yeah, it's kind of playable, but it's missing a bunch of effects from the xbox version and it looks like ass. It's also really buggy, moreso than the console one.

2 was good, but the controls are dated
3 was okay, but too much randumb xD humour
4 was garbage because muh superpowers and muh simulation made guns and driving obsolete

Not to mention the fact that all the music is very low quality on the PC port.

If it had more good missions like sky diving from a helicopter and into a tank, parachuting from a helicopter and stealing a penthouse, and falling from a top floor building on a giant ball it'd be good. Still wouldn't be better than SR2 or SR4 but it'd be good.
