Nintendo has literally been the best at advertising their shit this gen. If you didn’t know what this game looked like, that’s on you. There’s been over an hour of gameplay footage out for a month now.

Played for a couple hours.
The basic combat is very similar to the old games. Light attack, heavy attack, special attacks that consume energy, etc. The way you block and dodge is exactly the same as the old games.
Team attacks and super attacks are new and certain obstacles in levels can only be broken with certain team attacks so team building isn't as simple as just picking your favorites. The shield icons on the ground that let you change your team seem to be about as common as they were in the old games though so it's not like you need to restart a level if you hit a wall.

Overall I am having fun. The only thing I don't like so far is from what I can tell the only non palette swap costume you get is the season pass Deadpool outfit. Season pass unlocks Deadpool very early and he starts at level 21 while all your other characters are around level 5 at that point so it's kinda cheating to use him.

I haven't unlocked him yet. The first 4 characters you get are the Guardians. After that you unlock a ton of Avengers at once + Deadpool if you buy the season pass.

Light attacks you can chain. Heavy attacks certain characters can chain, but for other characters it's one big attack that can't be chained. Only certain characters can chain light into heavy or vice versa.

Been playing it all morning, aside from the lack of costumes almost everything else is better than 1 & 2.
I expect it to get at least a 7, maybe closer to 8 because of Nintendo bonus. It's not a 9/10 game though it's basic as shit like the old ones and those didn't review great.

A more action based Diablo is the most common comparison, I guess, gameplay-wise. Co-op through dungeons based on Marvel locations with some simple puzzles and defeating enemies and bosses to get loot (although stat-only, no visual changes aside from costumes/color swaps that have no gameplay effect). Each character has their own unique moveset and abilities, and often even special ways to move (like webslinging or flying).

I was responding to the other anons argument about animal themed villains.

But Spider-Man's traditional rogues gallery are more animal based than not. I mean we just had a spider event focusing on this fact. But yeah a lot of his newer villains have been non animal based. I am counting Goblin as an animal since Goblins are based on myth and fits the folklore theme. Even his nons are closely tied to the elements which is another common theme in African folklore.

This isn't deep thinking on my part Ezekiel introduced this in the early 2000s with the totem and all.

It's basically a 50/50 split, and you can argue that Venom, Carnage, and Kraven are all still animal themed in their own ways which would tip it to the animal themed side. Also, Morbius is technically a vampire but looks like a bat monster more than anything.

She uses guns in the game mostly but she has enhanced strength from her stone.

I've been trying everyone out, seems like there aren't really any bad characters this time around. Anyone that does a lot of stagger damage will make the best boss killer though because once you stagger bosses you can just do a 4 person super attack and take off 1/2 their hp bar.

If you want to melt bosses look for heroes that have spammable special moves that do bonus stagger damage and level those ones up

15 hours but people are saying the harder difficulty has more content. Like for instance in hard mode Kingpin will have that alligator guy as a henchman while in normal mode you only fight Kingpin. There's also time attack and single/team ladders.

There are three unlock times, one for oceanic which is already unlocked. One for EU which should be in less than 5 hours. And one in the US which should be in 9.5 hours.

It takes people on average 12-15 hours to beat Diablo 3 on normal mode starting at lvl 1 without any outside help. For games of this genre I think it sounds about right for it to be 15 hours.

I was the user that recommended her for the team and I say that she is interesting but a rip off of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. If you like Supernatural part of Marvel like Blade then yes read some of her stuff.

I personally love the supernatural stuff and find her books fairly decent. She isn't a super deep character mainly because she is only been around for 15 years or so and with that she is not in a lot of shit. So if you like Buffy the vampire slayer but with no campyness and like Marvel's supernatural offerings you will like her stuff.

we don't know how much harder the other difficulties are yet. But so far the game has an exploit where your CPU allies take little to no damage. So what you can do is just switch to other character before an attack hits you, and be OK.

Do NOT sleep on hulk. I thought he was going to be the lamest character in the game since his moves are boring. But after doing trials with him, I found out his abilities ONE HIT KILL. Meanwhile other characters have to do ticks, multi-hit abilities, and slowly trickle an enemy dead. Hulk does a single smash that one hit kills the entire room.

I felt this way about the new Ms Marvel. I know literally nothing about her since I haven't touched comics in years but she's by far the most fun character in this game to play so far.
