I'd say there's a 10% chance he at some point just decides to call it finished.

He seems like a perfectionist that would refuse to release it until it's just the way he wants it. So it's more likely we never see it at all because he isn't happy with it.

guys makes a fuckton of money with his main job. Cube World was his passion project along his wife.
They get a divorce, Wollay becomes depressed and doesn't work on the game for like a year or 2. Then comes back but says it wll release it once it's done and doesn't give a fuck about sales or how long it will take.

Not to defend the guy, but I do remember him saying he didn't want to sell the game yet as he couldn't promise to finish it. When it blew up and didn't know if it he wanted to keep developing the game he closed the store.

Hard to give, since most of the updates are given through emails that Wollay himself replied to different fans, some have been savedm some haven't. The official page hasn't been updated in years and the twitter is random as fuck.
