And just to give some wiggle room to doubters. That voice is Robin Downes in the English version and also done by Tomokazu Sugita in Japanese, the two voice actors for Kaz, but it is not officially confirmed they were voicing Kaz there and not both voicing the same generic soldier.

Depends on how close they worked together. Skullface could have betrayed Kaz after Kaz betrayed the Boss.
But also Kaz was ok after the explosion and didn't get blown up by it. He was fine after the event.

He may or may not have been the idiot who got Cypher's troops on the original MB.
He did aid Eli and the other kids in repairing the metal gear to then use it in their uprising against BiBo.
He also low key irradiated the troops who were infected with the kikongo strain because he wanted to mutate the vocal chord parasites. He was in contact with Cypher to sell this new strain in exchange for protection and this is what really riles up the MB troops against him. If his mutant strain got out he could've fucked the whole world.

His one and only true mistake, a fatal misstep, is to be a character in the unfinished Chapter 2 of this piece of shit, unfinished game that wasn't finished and is therefore a piece of unfinished shit, which was not finished, so nothing in Chapter 2 makes sense because it's not finished.
