Why can't Valve make good games anymore?
Why can't Valve make good games anymore?
they don't have to
Artifact was awful but underlords is genuinely better than TFT
i wish that was true but underlords is way worse. I play both and I'm big boss in underlords. The updates are too slow and devs already don't know how to balance and handle the game. Tft has so much more going on.
That UI makes me puke so i can't even play the game
They don't need to. Steam brings in so much money that the risk of making an AAA game isn't worth it now. These shitty games they put out are side projects done with small teams where there is minimal risk.
Unironically Underlords is miles above tft but tft is played by popular twitch streamers
>stumble across one of the more popular Autochess streamers
>says Underlords is more sound mechanically
>enjoys it more, too
>TFT is getting picked up by everyone else though so she eventually joins the bandwagon
This is why I'm so against using Twitch views as a measurement for anything. The entire culture on this site is incestuous.
Because they have no modding community to buy game ideas from anymore.
TFT won't last long the moment they push out ranked. Honeymoon phase is going to end the moment it stops being a bullshit party game you can play with friends for memes and it turns into competitive garbage. In fact fuck Riot for even ATTEMPTING to push our ranked mode so soon for this shit whilst it is still buggy and unbalanced as all fucking hell. Why is it that everything has to turn into fucking Esports? Seeing ranked mode in TFT is like seeing competitive Mario Party. It's just counter intuitive to any kind of fun you could possibly get out of this fucking game.
you've made this thread like 4 times tonight
Why does this keep getting spammed tho?
>NOOOOO WE HAVE TO HIDE HOW MUCH OF A FAILURE VALVE IS
because the tft general on /vg/ keeps dying because lots of view bots doesn't mean lots of players
Yea Forums and /vg/ are not the place for normie games like Fortnite
I actually have things I like about both.
Underlords has an item problem. It's either you got a good item (read: global) or you got a shitty item (wow, 24 attack damage, thanks bruno). There's no inbetween, and there's no build-up. You can change your strategy according to items, but there's no niche to build into.
TFT has the reverse problem. Everything other than items has that classic riot touch in terms of balancing. There is straight up an RNG element to how many items you get in TFT, and items are so critical to your success that it's paramount that you get as many as possible - right ones or not.
Then there's the level 6 exp bar.
Level 6->7 costs 30 (30!) exp in TFT. That's ridiculous. It more or less punishes saving gold/characters for interest to compose lategame lineups. Also confusing that the same riot that removed evasion from their game would somehow fucking add innate crit to every character.
Both games have some real meta issues but they both need a lot of work. I play underlords right now but with the right balancing changes I think TFT has a higher ceiling as a game.
Doesn't make his statement not true faggot. Go back to shitposting on tieba websites you chink fuck.
Just like Dota
both games are trash, but TFT sucks more, way to much RNG.
Lol general is pretty not-dead. No excuses
Are items drops really random? I kind of assumed there was some system where you were guaranteed by round X to have gotten Y amount of items. Otherwise it's a joke of an Esport game -- bad character rolls can be mitigated by changing your tactic, but you straight up can't win without good item drops.
it will required effort. It's easier to pay some pennies (something not even that) to a couple third-worders and make them work on some easy cashgrab for your braindead playerbase.
you mean like the third worlders you subcontracted out your posting to?
The first days of this were amazing... the player number in a constant decline and that user saying how "X number is good for a card game" while talking about the axe card and how he was "making money with the game and keeping card to sell in the future". Beautiful.
And the big team is just working on the steam client.
*2 special trading cards has been added to your Steam account* Thanks for your defense.
>The updates are too slow
Fuck off tftranny, the game gets frequent updates and tomorrows is huge. How many has tft had?
>Devs don't know how to balance the game
Are you implying any auto chess game is balanced? They all have underpowered and overpowered shit, tft is far worse.
>Tft has so much more going on.
OMG A CAROUSEL
OMG RNGFEST ITEM SYSTEM THAT DETERMINES MOST GAMES
kys retard
i can't stand the look of it, looks like a shitty mobile game (because it is)
At least underlords has good load times. You're in a game almost instantly compared to TFT's 5 minute long loads.
You also don't need riots obnoxious and intrusive client in order to play it.
checking this get
imagine my shock
Underlords look like it was made by some modder who were restricted by the limitations of the engine. At least TFT looks like a proper game and not a custom map.
>but underlords is genuinely better than TFT
Lel. You don't believe this, do you? Underlords is fucking mobile trash, it failed to capture everything that made Autochess enjoyable. It also looks like pure fucking garbage, so it's no surprise people rushed to TFT.
>play in a verdant green environment
>or play on a black fucking background
Literally psychology 101 could've told you what people would go for. The art direction at Valve is fucking disastrous, but then that's to be expected when you fire your artists because they demanded a raise only so you can hire thirdie freelancers.
Stop spreading fake numbers, Underlords is doing gr---
This is all fake, Riot is just using bots, real players play their games they don't watch them!!! Underlords is doing gr---
