Galaxy 2 is technically better than 1. But all mario 3d main games have a theme that makes them special
in 64 you explore peach's castle, that is all empty and mysterious.
sunshine is all beach themed, you pass all the game on different locations of the island
on galaxy you explore a bunch of galaxies while living on that ship, it has that "vast space" feeling, and a story that feels the little prince.
galaxy 2 is just 3d world with planets

I loved Galaxy 1s vast space feel. The cloudy skys just werent as cool to me.

Sometimes I feel Starship Mario can feel more comfy than the Comet Observatory.

Yeah. I think both hubs have their own strengths and weaknesses though. Comet Observatory feels a lot more like a home, and is obviously bigger and has more to explore. It feels a lot more 'chill' than the starship, which starts chill but then more and more NPCs join up and the music starts getting livelier. Fuck, now I feel the need to replay the Galaxy games.

I have a jank setup where all the buttons are just mapped to the controller, shake is the right stick and wiimote is a the mouse

how well does galaxy translate to emulation? ive been wanting to play the galaxy games again but im not shelling out to buy a wii again.

I would say pretty well, you can have your controller be the wiimote and nunchuck and your mouse for pointing at shit, it only gets rough on the levels where you're on a ball and you have to tilt

I emulated SMG2 from start to finish and it ran great. Just bind the wagglin to the shoulder buttons and you're good.

only problem ive seen from a friend who tried it is the wii controller menu would constantly keep popping up for him every 10-30 seconds, he never found out why and gave up on it and went to cemu

apparently switch pro controller and pc don't mix perfectly, I'm just using a 360 controller

oh really? good to note. he wasnt exactly sure what he was doing when mapping and tried to follow some guides online

The Lumas might have been the worst Mario characters ever created. Everything they said and did was cringingly cutesy, even for a Mario game.
