That's the mutherfucking best VN with the worst ending ever. Really, the build up is the best I've read in a VN, only to fuck up at the end. Still, read it, the rest will have you glued to the screen. But first, you have to read MuvLuv Extra and Unlimited. Extra is a little bit of a slog to go through, but Unlimited really picks it up.

Well Steins;Gate has some romance going on but zero eroge, and the sci-fi factor overpowers it completely.

There are no routes, the only branches are inmediate bad endings. The pic you saw doesn't reflect correctly the events in the plot, because alone, it's really out of context.

From 0 to 10 how good is the story? 0 being anything made by David Cage and 10 being Planescape: Torment.

It straight up pulls the "lmao shit goes bad on your birthday and everything up until then was you thinking maybe you halfway cared about things" for emotional suckerpunch points. The final chapter is by far the lowest point. You already know pretty much all twists, but then they ask you to go back to the past and talk to all the characters again so they tell you about their past some more and it's such a grind because you already know everything. It's like 5 hours of the same fucking story just with different POV's.

This is as far as I've gotten. I really need to finish it someday, but that chapter just kills all interest.

There are some twists of course but the biggest one has already been spoiled in this thread many times: you are the ghost of a FtM tranny that got crucified back in the dark ages because people were bigots..

It's not a mystery in the same sense as AA, DR or even Umineko, but there are a few moments where you can entertain yourself like that if you deliberately look for clues. Namely, in the 2nd and 3rd doors.

I'll admit that Mell's retelling was a bit of a slog because it's obvious why he did what he did and how he felt, but the other characters are a lot more interesting.

I thought the main story between Michelle, Giselle, and Morgana was pretty good, but the side stories were kind of eh. The siblings and the beast stories were pretty boring. The white-haired girl did nothing wrong and deserved to keep existing. The overall story has too much of a tragedy boner.

The music was pretty dogshit, so I turned it off and let the sound effects do all the work. Made for some great 2 AM reading atmosphere, especially during the climb up to Morgana's cell in the tower. Shit was spoopy.

I mean, I wouldn't call the entire Beatles discography flawless (whose is, though?), but I'd listen to Revolver, Sgt. Pepper, and Abbey Road before any of this shit. Slow, somber piano tunes with some female vocalist singing over them are rather soporific.

I understand some of yoy wouldn't like the style, but hell, the composition is incredible. The voice leading this dudes did over the chord progressions was really good, and some songs like Everybodys Crying even had polirythmic games going on, like apparently being on 3/4 but then the cellos go in apparently out of beat and force you to aknowledge the past melody as triplets in 4/4 instead. Skia Oura had a fantastic guitar solo. I love everything they did in this OST.

I tried to "play" this some time ago but the music was such a earrape I couldn't bring myself to.

The substance of the music is still banal as fuck. And that's just talking about the "good" tunes and not the shitty ones like that one song with the claps that plays during the siblings' story or the one that's used a bunch of times in the beast's story. By Jacopo's story, I got tired of that shit and turned it off. It didn't really ruin the experience for me or anything.

Another game with fantastic OST was Trails in the Sky, both FC and SC. The Facom sound team really is something else.

Are you retarded? Huke's character designs were good but his art was fucking bad and had bad anatomy, 0 making new art that adhered to Huke's style while actually being drawn competently was one of the only things it did right.

The first chapter's art is questionable and absolutely the worst art of the game, but it was drawn first and Moyotaro significantly improved over time. If Moyotaro hadn't fallen ill I'd imagine they would have touched it up for Collected Edition.
