1 and 2 are pretty good. A bit outdated but still quite fun.

NV is probably the best gameplay, story shows signs that things were cut from Legion but otherwise pretry good.

3 gets the atmosphere a little better. DC is great, but the gameplay is bad compared to NV.

4 is absolute crap...but it's the most hours I played since I'm autistic for settlements and the little gameplay things like sprinting, greande hotkeys, better power armor, and armor customization. Now that they have mods that make it like Sim City and am playing on an almost full modlist.

2 is overrated as fuck. It doesn't have the focus that 1 has, the world is pretty much empty and the late game areas like San Francisco are some of the worst in the entire series.

The story in 4 is aggressively bad. Like Fallout 3 is retarded, yeah, whatever. But damn man, 4 blows it out of the fucking water, and the worst part is that there's actually a lot of potential in MIT and everything, but everything and everyone in the entire game was just so fucking stupid it was constant letdown after letdown.

2 is the best. 1 is good but 2 improves on it so much that 1 is just not very fun anymore New Vegas and 3 are boring buggy trash. 4 is actually more fun than 3 and NV initially but gets boring about half way through

Fallout 2 was an incoherent mess that added some small QoL improvements over the first game and a whole lot more things to do and weapons to use. It's fun, but poorly put together. The first game is smaller and far more sensible, with a better story and world building. New Vegas is the closest to a proper sequel to 1 in terms of design priorities, it just happens to be in Bethesda's Fallout 3's engine, which is kind of shit. Tactics is a fun little diversion that, unfortunately, doesn't really do anything that other tactics RPGs of the time don't do better, but it's not too bad for what it is.

Bethesda's Fallout is Elder Scrolls with a coat of paint. There's no point in talking about it when discussing Fallout.

capital wasteland has my favorite map. its a masterpiece. feels so post apocalyptic but weirdly serene. sometimes i just like walking around it.

The ambient soundtrack is super comfy too. FO3 would actually make a great template for a walking simulator a la Dear Esther (but with puzzles thrown in so it has actual gameplay instead of you just listening to some faggy narrator).
