Origins was fine, but not memorable. Odyssey totally has better music, but it's just adapted from older games.

Nah, the only thing that's adapted is the main theme which is a remix of AC2's theme, and I think Origins has a version of it too, but it only plays in the ending.

I think you'll find the reason a lot of big composer dipped their toes into the videogame sphere was there was a honeymoon period where videogames were just overtaking movies in terms of profits and market share and they were chasing the next "big thing".
Turns out you don't get royalties or paid off videogames nearly as well as movies or TV shows so they all kind of slunk back, you see the same push from larger composer now into the netflix series sphere or international markets.
Bryan tyler for example who did a couple of games a while back (modern warfare 3, far cry 3 etc.) is now chasing the chinese movie market by doing movies like crazy rich asians.
