That's the issue; maternal love isn't sexual. Tidus didn't want his mom to fuck him, nor did he kill Jecht because his mom was fucking Jecht and not him. That's what the Freudian school of thought suggests explicitly; an Oedipus complex suggests that a kid wants to fuck his mom, and kill his dad because his dad's fucking his mom. It's a degenerate train of thought, and projecting that onto situations that it isn't relevant is dumb.
