Chapter 5
Probably Goombella
Flat Game
Shadow Queen. Shame you can only fight her once per game.
3 and 6 are the best chapters you donut. If you wanted variety of answers you should've asked about 64.
Motivate me to play past chapter 2

Don't give up hope just yet. This series has historically never kept the same battle system or level of originality for more than 2 games. Next time they might pull it back up.
i went from asking for a new paper mario game like the first 2, to asking for a remake of 1 and 2, to asking for just a re release of 1 OR 2
JUST GIVE ME SOMETHING
Bug fables entered beta recently, so that's something.

is anyone in this thread pro enough at TTYD to succesfully complete a pre-hooktail pit run? i tried it once and died in the 40s because i'm not great at remembering the different timing for superguarding all those attacks.

I always liked the trouble center but I wish there was a reward for completing it, or hell even another sidequest from the dude running it

Bonechill is unironically the best boss I have ever seen in a Paper Mario game

how? genuinely curious, i want to know your rationale. not even trying to start shit
its the low point of the game for sure, but once you get past it, you'll be fine.

Will there ever be another good Paper Mario game?
Turning off the game to play Paper Mario 64
My N64 because it has Paper Mario 64 on it
Going on Yea Forums to convince them that Paper Mario 64 is better
Yea Forums zoomers that insist The Thousand Years of Backtracking is better

No japes, are there seriously people who think 64 is better than TYD? I’ve always liked the story, characters, and world better in 64, even if I thought the battle system was better in TYD. Is this even a valid opinion to have?
bonetail was the coolest shit as a kid. and then he did his poison breath and i realized i was going to die.
I like Koops
I like TTYD better as a whole, but I absolutely see where 64 fans come from TTYD has a good amount of low points compared to 64s consistency.
absolutely. they're both similar enough in quality that the case can eloquently be made for either being the better game
Every chapter is "that level" in the Thousand Year Snore, I can't replay the game it's so boring 64 I replay once a year
fuck you and your N64 worship.
OP here, i prefer the battle system of TTYD but the music, art style, NPC's and bosses of 64 far more. TTYD felt relatively soulless by comparison, although still a great sequel.
have you guys played the paper mario mod master quest or pro mode? they're difficulty hacks that add new areas, enemies and badges to the original game that make it feel fresh again.
Best song coming through

absolute kino, the first fight is also the last, it's like poetry it rhymes, peach's castle is the first area and the last, it rhymes. can play as peach and do cool MGS stealth. memorable music, consistent world, based art style that has aged beautifully, game looks remarkably good even today. not a dull chapter in the game, interesting plot threads, feels like a living, breathing world. almost every toad in toad town has a distinct personality or bit of dialogue that reveals more about the world. partners are all useful and interestingly designed in their own way, bosses are designed to show you your partners best attributes (bow for tubba blubba, lakilester for huff n puff).
>TTYD
backtracking, dialogue, dialogue, backtracking, backtracking, cutscene, forced newgrounds humor, partners as health sponges, mario becomes a powerhouse after chapter 3, overpowered star powers.
I love you x100

superfag pls make like the series and die
your post actually makes me realize Super Paper Mario is the best of the entire franchise
ridiculously obvious samefag
also one more thing i realized that 64 did first and better was making you realize that the "enemies" you fought before in previous mario games, like cheep cheeps, goombas, or koopas, can be good OR bad, like koops, or the koopa bros. game was a fucking masterpiece. that soundtrack is so top-notch.
not a samefag buddy
Unrelated but I finished Color Splash recently.
Game had potential but the Sticker Star combat made the game actively unfun.
Fair bit of charm tho but it didn't quite feel as fleshed out as TTYD or SPM.
