I personally hope that if future installments get made, they go for a toon physics route. The games already have so much of a setup for the idea that I think it could stand out significantly if they decided to try and make another platformer in this era.

I'd hope so. Banjo-Kazooie were console mascot-tier in the Nintendo 64 era and it'd make sense to play up that angle with other N64-era games, even if it's only a spirit and music track each.

Considering how FF and Persona's representation is limited between only a few games within their franchises(FFVII and Persona 3, 4 and 5 with no SMT) I seriously doubt we'll see anything more than Kazooie, Tooie and N&B content. I could see a few MS/Rare Mii costumes happening though

B-K isn’t wacky cartoon, that’s more Conker. B-K is more of a sarcastic take on fairy tale fantasy. The set up for the original is clearly based on Snow White, and prior to Grunty, Banjo was gonna take from Jack and the Beanstalk. Then you’ve also got Capt. Blackeye and the Peter Pan refs from Project Dream. Whatever Banjo does, it should take more from classic fairy tale fantasy.

Pinocchio, Moby Dick, Peter Pan, Hanzel and Gretel, Arabian Nights, Alice in Wonderland, Jack and the Beanstalk, Frankenstein, Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde, etc... etc... but with its own twist as it always does.

Agreed. It should be ignored when setting the foundation of the game, and it shouldn't influence the game's design or tone, but a few jabs can still be thrown at it. Such as L.O.G. making a cameo in a run down cabin as a broken TV with his cape used as a ratty tablecloth, or Banjo bringing up "My nuts and bolts adventure," only to cause Kazooie to groan and ask him not to bring that up.

Nintendo didn't buy a majority stake in Rare, Stamper Bros left them to die, and Microsoft made them an offer they couldn't refuse. Even before the buyout, some of the devs were already leaving Rare. Some Perfect Dark devs left and worked on the Timesplitters series.

Facing grunty for the first time since I sucked as a lil boomer. She's really fucking hard. I did not expect even getting to the jinjonator to be that tough. You'd think rare was taking cues from action games from 2002 with how tough that fireball dodging is. Egg aiming sucks but I guess that's the boss's main challenge. That flying phase taking 10 minutes to beat is such a beautifully frustrating gateway to the chance to fucking win. I guess I had this coming after finding most of the game damn easy.

If Microsoft is going balls deep to try and regain the ground they lost with the Xbone shitshow, Banjo Threeie would be a good place to start.

Launch a flagship E10+ game along with a flagship M game (Halo) to get multigenerational appeal.

Even if it was Blast Corps: Build and Destroy or something, there's still the issue that only about a half of the missions really encourage you to be creative with buildings (the others are preset or just races), and the physics means you'll slightly tap a vehicle from behind and completely lose all control of your own.

What's really made Banjo-Kazooie's addition so wonderful (besides actually getting in and the amazing reveal) is that Sakurai and his team genuinely gave a shit with how the series was portrayed, just like with Castlevania and Mega Man. Almost no hint of Nuts and Bolts is present; the material and style is very dominantly rooted in the N64 era stuff.

Steve Mayles was even impressed with how careful Nintendo portrayed Banjo

It would have been amusing if B&K was the first dlc reveal, but then the rest of the pass was all nameless JRPG heroes.

A remake would be fine if they take the hint from the explosively positive reception for BK's Smash depiction. That being, don't use the Nuts and Bolt style or otherwise significantly deviate from the original style. Hell, if possible I'd suggest to simply use the 360 ports as the base work for the engine and just upgrade the models and animations.

the longer the fight goes on, the more her fireballs track you. Eventually it gets to a point where they hit where they think you're going to be, rather than where you are. So just fake them out at that point until there's a slowdown in her fire rate

I can see why, throughout the game you never have to use besides to get the one jiggy after learning it, it feels more like a cheat against enemies than something to solve puzzles, so of course they wouldn't think of using it against the final boss.

While it is basically true characters from franchises that are already represented in Smash won't be included in the Fighters Pass, theres still room for additional seperate DLC. Meaning characters like Geno, Bandana Waddle Dee, Waluigi, Dixie Kong, and perhaps some FE character still have a good chance being in Smash as DLC. Just not part of the fighters pass like Pirahnna Plant. Also there's been plenty of rumor about Geno coming to Smash as of late, so that must account for something to some extent atleast.

Hopefully the people they get will do it more like Killer Instinct and less like Battletoads. Also, that leaker who teased Banjo in Smash, claimed that Rare Replay for Switch is being worked on right now. I'm cautiously optimistic for their future right now.
