The dub of this guy is unbearable, all I can hear is Robin, at least its not as bad as Colette
Tales of Symphonia

Who the fuck plays with dub?
anyone with a brain that plays symphonia
Do you also enjoy eating shit by chance?
t. zoomer who watches TT:Go and not the original TT.
symphonia jap VA is horrible, especially collete. that being said i play with jap VA in most games
I'm new to the series, I just got to Ossa Pass and I'm having a pretty good time. Colette is just ear rape though, at least Robin's VA is pretty good.
Still miles better than the dub.
>the va is good because its japanese
Dude, symphonia has notoriously bad japanese va
DEMON FANG
DEMON FANG
DAAAAMN I MUST BE A GENIUS
DOUBLE DEMON FANG
not really when a main cast member is that bad. she sounds 4 years old with Japanese VA
I'm pretty sure he is Robin in the 2003 titans as well.
I hate Genis so fucking much.
>playing a version of the game that lets you change voices
Yes he was.
The Go cast is the same as the 2003 cast.
He seems much worse than his sister at the point when you get her, idk if he improves at all.
Imagine being brought back for that
Does the PC version let you change voices? English is alright, but Im hearing that Jap is better overall
PANCAKE TIME
Both the NA voices and the JAP voices are horrid in this game.
Yeah it lets you change it to jap.
CN knows Go is shit, thats why they are doing the Crossover Movie with Go and the 2003 Titans, hoping to re-launch 2003.
Even just looking at it gameplaywise, you have no reason to use him. Sure he's your mage, but because of the garbage spell queue system, all his better spells freeze the casting time for all your allies, meaning Raine can't get off that heal and will just stand there waiting for the bandit to come over and fuck her in the ass.
When he'll be coming as a playable in smash ultimate?
Is that why my healers suddenly aren't healing? Is this fixed in the other games or will I just have to adapt?
I'm pretty sure it's only a thing in older titles. I think it was removed starting from Abyss and onwards.
Scott Menville is pretty shit all around.
Oh, like 90+% of the people who buy the game in English speaking countries?
>Even just looking at it gameplaywise, you have no reason to use him.
Nigger what? If your party isn't Lloyd, Genis, Raine, and Presea/Zelos, you're playing the game wrong.
Is the Fake enemy supposed to be so fucking impossible? I'm at the fire seal and it is way harder than the boss.
I hope he gets in just to spite all the "muh anime swortsman" faggots.
>using more than one dedicated spellcaster
>not including the combo-god that is Regal
Genis is mediocre unless you look up his Compound Ex skills and realize you can spam his strongest spells at the drop of a hat with randomizer. Just activate and then cancel the spells over and over until they go off instantly.
They patched this out after the GC version but I'm lmaoing at your life if you play anything else.
It's notoriously hard. Idk if it's a bug/error; I never looked into it
The Mimic doesn't take any damage from normal attacks. It's a beefgate you probably aren't supposed to fight, but you can cheese it with quartz items to turn your sword moves into fire moves.
Treat it like a bonus boss that comes very early in the game. It's not like you need the item it drops and you can steal a second one off it if you wait till later when Colette can do that.
>Fighting style relies entirely on using special moves that blow through TP like your mom on Taco Tuesday
>Adds nothing to the story
You have to use magic, it's immune to physical attacks.
I'm playing PC, fuck
of course he does, he's plays Tales games
Enjoy the bonus content and cry about losing all the exploits like spell canceling and having 60fps.
PC isn't actually that bad, but it's disappointing that they didn't fix any of the Playstation version's shortcomings when porting it.
i actually dropped symphonia about 10 hours in. tales games kinda blow.
Give him the compound skill that reduces the amount of TP and the one that gives a small chance of boosting his max TP after a battle. He'll start clearing screens in no time once he learns higher level magic.
Based Reggie telling it like it is. Why can't Todd be more like you?
>not concentrate
Ok but why? It's the best skill for mages for a reason. TP costs hardly matter when you're swimming in Pineapple gels.
Spell cancelling still exists. You just need to grind the spell usage to 999 first. Have fun. Just use cheat engine to max out usage.
Wait really? How does that work anyways?
Does casting a spell a fuckton of times actually reduce the cooldown?
Was it hot or cold?
The game didn't have Japanese voice options until the PS3 version. And like OP, I couldn't play the game because the voices were so bad. Also because of the hours of dialogue in the beginning.
the more uses you have the less time it takes before you can cancel-cast, when you hit 999 on the usage counter you can do it instantly like on the Gamecube version.
Cool I didn't know that. I wonder if that was how it was originally intended or if they just threw players a bone.
That's for later in the game when you don't have to worry about him running out of TP. And when you have access to level 4 EX gems.
Hell, the Go writers know it too, they've lampshaded that fact repeatedly.
They also made fun of obsessive 2003 fans though
Robin is starting to grow on me, I don't get the hate for Lloyd at all.
You voice over fags are so annoying. The jap voices is best only because of the skits.
>Not liking Robin
> hating on Nana Mizuki
Fucking pleb.
ToS dub is kino, kill yourself you zoomer fuckheads, all of you
Its not that I don't like Robin, its that he sounds exactly like him, and I want him to be Lloyd.
>You voice over fags are so annoying.
Excuse us for having some standards. And not wanting to have voice acting that sounds like it comes from an episode of Barney.
>Hating on Nana Mizuki and Katsuyuki Konishi
Kill yourself
Seiyuufags once again demonstrating they don't really care about performances, only names they recognize.
And Nip Lloyd sounds like the most generic country bumpkin trope. It's a case of pick your poison.
What's the bonus content? And are there any other tales games worth buying? I'm enjoying myself so far.
Colette's English voice is fantastic you tasteless fag.
>b-but Nana!
She's a better singer than she is a seiyuu. Fight me.
>KUREAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA's in your path
It seems way too high pitched to me, almost grating
There are a lot of alternate costumes you can get on PC you couldn't on earlier releases.
That and characters that didn't have super moves in the original now have them, but those really don't matter much.
Vesperia is also good if you liked Symphonia, but I can't speak for the rest of the series.
>Vesperia is also good if you liked Symphonia, but I can't speak for the rest of the series.
Abyss is in the same ballpark as Symphonia and Vesperia
Teen Titans GO writers are as meta as the Sonic Twitter account, or Sonic Boom.
I'll have to emulate Abyss right? Any remake or remaster coming soon? If not I'll wait until my new pc comes in and start emulating.
ToS was dubbed in a time when dubs had character and soul. They didn't desperately try to make it as bland and close to the original Japanese version as possible because the amount of screeching weebs was so small. Dubs back then were a different, but often equal, experience, where even the worst would be memorable. Would you even know what the hell Chaos Wars was if it wasn't for its shitty dub?
It got a remaster or whatever you wanna call it on the 3DS.
It's just a port with faster loading and I think a couple of bug fixes.
I don't care about the dub, I only care about not being able to skip the fucking cutscenes.
I also dont really want to bother with the 3DS version if I'm emulating, it'll look much worse and there is no bonus content to redeem it.
GC version only had english voices. Kratos's voice was great though, but audio quality wasnt good in general
But I know what that user meant. The first time you meet one of these is that on fire temple and you are unprepared, if you didnt saved for an hour you are fucked because you will die.
The problem is that those are in-game cutscenes, and around that era it was rare for those to be skipped. The other game that did in-game cutscenes a lot was Shenmue and you could only skipped them after completing the once by using a complete save file, at least in 1 I think
>all i can hear is robin
who the fuck is robin?
man are you retarded?
games aren't meant for retards.
Still has a lot of spelling errors in the titles and such.
>This character exists as an ex-idol mouthpiece, thus cannot meaningfully challenge or develop her.
Or at least that's what it seemed to me playing it again years later. Not putting down Mizuki directly.
Also the difference between Heather Hogan in the original and sequel will always be wild to me, even if it probably isn't that great.
Yes. If another older Tales game were to get a high-def re-release, and new series staff have voiced interest in that, Abyss would likely be high on the list. But we would have absolutely no idea when this might be, as Namco re-releases older Tales games to fill release out release line-ups, not out of any conscious plan to get the series extra exposure. And PC ports only following existing console ports, so they would need a reason to re-release a given game on console in Japan too.
