I remember people complaining about the lack of quests but I loved the whole exploring a place to find out it's little backstory without the hand holding shit. I hated how in NV if there was a named npc that meant they were a part of a quest and only quest related stuff had anything to it.

Fallout 3 is the one I like the most from the NuFallouts but only probably because it's the first one I played.

Honestly none of them are really that good. Or good in general. Each have their faults at different things, some more than others but the primary fault is that the gameplay from NuFallouts is not that fun. The gunplay feels really bad. VATS feels bad. You can facetank stuff and the game in general feels really retarded.

Fallout 3 is a better game than New Vegas even if New Vegas has more choice and RPG mechanics.

How did it resemble that more than Oblivion? Fallout 3 is actually a more challenging game than Oblivion. Your choices matter a helluva lot more and combat at times could actually be difficult if a Behemoth comes or you aren't wearing Power Armor.

capital wasteland is one of the best maps ever. the atmosphere is amazing and so many cool things to find

Being better at that than 3 and NV isn't a big accomplishment though. You gotta compare it to other shooting games. Plus, just having good gunplay is one of the problems, which honestly, F4 is better at the gunplay but it's not that great. It still suffers from a lot of clunkyness.
