He never anticipated just how brainwashed Nintendo consumers are, they will buy ANY piece of shit gimmick hardware to play the 1 or 2 game series held at random, this has been proven time and time again, almost ironic that a Pokemon game dev said this when his entire game series has always depended on the Nintendo hive mind paying for every underpowered Nintendo handheld console
Do you agree with him, Yea Forums?
What standard? By the end of the year the Switch may very well have completely outsold the Xbox One. And it'd be in 3 years versus 6 for the Xbox.
pathetic
We already know Switch is a success now though?
Back when this was a relevant question (before March 3rd 2017), I would have said yes which is why I bought a launch day unit.
It was clearly a turn around in marketing/branding for their hardware and Breath of the Wild spearheaded a turn around against the negative view of their software that the first year of WiiU, MarioU, Legocity Undercover, and Pikmin 3, established and the droughts and horrible finish with furry kusoge and Stick Star 2 that the WiiU library was. It was obviously going at the very least crush the WiiU and short term Breath of the Wild justified the expense.

He wanted the Switch to fail so that they would never have to move to developing for the Switch.
Game Freak never wanted to leave 3DS or lower tier development, or mobile. They never wanted to move beyond that but the success of the Switch forced their hand and now they can't hide the flaws of Sword and Shield behind shitty 3DS hardware.
Being forced to play party mode when I just want For Glory isn't better.
