Keep in mind that i'm basically posting spoilers. As in the actual plot of the two games.

1: You, a rookie, is thrown into a badly balanced squad of God Eaters. Russian pantyhose-wearing big booby braless lady with PTSD is forced into a plot to eliminate your best bro. Wifeless commander man wants to use an hungry child to power up an Aragami waifu to eat the world to eliminate all Aragami and use the survivors as a new humanity. The child's spirit launches both it and herself on the moon while your friend has his god arc eat her body. Your best bro is still alive but becomes a poisonous dragon, you hallucinate a boy with the worst companion AI ever and you punch the dragon inside its mouth. The Aragami waifu's remains become the strongest Vajra in the series with cool-ass music and you kill it.

A little on the short and easier side, but the monsters themselves are double as strong, fast and tricky than the last games. Feels much better to play but doesn't have as much content, though they're updating it with new story, missions and Aragami.

2:Cute little creepy girl is pushed down stairs from her sister and becomes paralyzed: to save her they inject Aragami cells into her, which not only makes her creepier but makes her get possessed by an Aragami """"God"""". She becomes a scientist opens up an orphanage to """"save"""" children and experiments on them, then creates an uncontrollable poisonous rain that kills people and makes "Aragami lords" and singles out certain people for future use. An italian dude dies. The god tells her to unleash an Aragami apocalypse and she does. You stop her by fighting your naked best bro that's become a singularity by using the goddamn power of idol music which is another apocalypse and the two cancel themselves out. She dies. All of this creates a giant tree and your bro is stuck there. You know a cute brown girl that kills her friends and can use everyone's god arc by suffering inimaginably. With her you momentarily get one of tthe worst companion AI ever(just for that mission though) against a big panther then she gets the italian dude's god arc which also was her friend at the orphanage. The scientist is somehow partially alive and tries to enter your friends's minds to get them to become food for the tree and start another apocalypse. She also modifies some Aragami sticking weapons inside them, somehow creating a stronger but weaker version of the most overpowered annoying Aragami in the series. You help your friends then meet her, she becomes a giant naked waifu Aragami(finally she can move her legs though) and in her last moments she goes "ok f**k this" and cancels her own apocalypse out of good will for you. You rescue your best bro and start planting potatoes and veggies. The italian dude is alive and goes "i had a funeral wtf man".

Custom bullet orbs. The ones off to the side are Damage Over Time types that sit in place charging. They fire off that big sticky orb that proceeds to shit out a bunch of boosted radial rounds at point blank.

You need to enter burst mode by devouring. The light attack gets replaced with the burst art while in burst mode.

It needs to be equipped in one of the three slots and it needs to be one that procs off the move you're doing. Like a burst art for a step attack might be one of two buttons, not both. Look at its description.

Then you probably are doing a burst art, it's just that the first burst arts you get are just a slight modifier to the regular combo. You'll unlock more distinct ones as you go.

That shit was described as moving at continental drift speed. It could be hundreds or thousands of years before it catches up to them. By that point they'd have better odds trying to use humanoid aragami cells to modify themselves into a new species of aragami sapiens with natural immunity to ash, ready to repopulate the wastes.

And that'll cause problems when the apocalypse finally DOES catch up to them and they're no longer immune to the anti-oracle cell field it emits, resulting in the plot of GE4.

It makes me really upset that Phym becomes a child and goes from not knowing speech at all, to speaking at the level of a 5 year old within minutes, but then for the entire duration of the game after that she remains unchanged.

She should change in to something similar to a fully matured human throughout the game, or at the very least she should speak like a genius within a few hours of her exposure to humans.

The PS4 version is also 30fps, I don't think I have seen any noticeable fps dips, and no gyro aiming.

Her lines change somewhat to show that she still is maturing. A lot of her early stuff is mostly babby-talk, but some of the endgame in-battle dialogue has her talking in full, coherent sentences. If there was an extra postgame arc that took place even just a few months later, she'd definitely be speaking in a clearly adult manner.

There are indications that she's developing mentally (Hugo is making her learn to read etc) and she does articulate more developed ideas, but yeah, she stays in daughteru bait mode because they need to pander.

My point is, she goes from no speech at all to speech at the level of an intelligent 5 year old within minutes.
Then over the course of months, with lots of studying, she matures to an 8 year old at best, it would have been far cooler had she continued her rapid development and finished as essentially an adult, being the most intelligent and skilled of the whole team, right in time for her to make her "final" decision and do what she does in the end, would have been a lot more emotional having a fully aware adult make the decision rather than a confused child.

But then it wouldn't have been muh daughter pulling on those otaku heartstrings. If you're saying she doesn't really succeed as a character, I kind of agree. It's funny that despite how hard they pushed Phym she still got crushed by everyone's husbandbrother Hugo in the popularity poll.

I figured whatever gleipnir was using to keep her suppressed dulled her initial intelligence and it was more like quickly catching up than high speed learning, especially since her new family was much more willing to engage with her development.

The other idea is that by the end of the game she just acts like a child because she likes it that way, and is actually a lot smarter and more mature than she lets on. Or that she's still getting smarter, but retains the mentality and naivete of a child.

What really confused me is how she has literally zero struggle with her own nature like Shio did. She still eats almost anything and has weird tastes, but keeping her instincts in check is never a concern. She doesn't even consider herself anything besides human.

Most God Eaters only have one cuff. You and some of the newer generation are a special variation that use more of the magic juice than older generations. To keep the juice in check so it doesn't turn you into a monster, you need two cuffs.

I've been curious for a while, does anyone actually like the guns? I've never thought they were very fun to use, but custom bullets were too strong to ignore in older games. What if you could just replace your gun with another melee weapon?

I never really remember to use it. People said that was the key to doing well in Time Trials, so I'm kinda boned.

I fucking hate/love how Buster Blade still remains best weapon. Especially now when you can equip arts for each attack. The damned thing can do almost EVERYTHING.

The joke with time trials is that the small monster ones are actually way more demanding than the large monster ones. It's one of the only times where your gun is important, because a lot of small monsters are actually weak to ranged pierce/crush damage and you don't need to move as far between kills. The large monster ones are generous enough that you can beat them in half or less of the gold medal times as long as you bring the right elemental weapon and focus on weak points.

The only ones I have no idea how to do are mission 2, the Amen Ra, and Ash Anubis. Somehow Kyubei and Gawain went down really easily. Is there a dumb-bullshit bullet that will just win things for me?

Kyuubi had a huge health nerf in 3, and it and Gawain were probably the only monsters that stayed the same speed instead of going faster. They're way easier to handle now with the overall buff to mobility, especially kyuubi who's a fucking joke in comparison.

Amen Ra is a big health sponge, but still pretty easy for weapons with a good spammable air art, like buster blade and heavy moon. I don't know what to tell you about Ash Storm Anubis because if you can handle regular Anubis then he shouldn't really be causing any issues. Focus on his arms if you can't safely stick to his head.

By mission 2, do you mean the one with fallen axe raiders? I figured the ones with cocoon maidens and beetles would be more annoying, but this bullet might help with any of them. Be sure you're using the right elements, they're like a 25-55% damage increase depending on the level of element and hitzone.

I did mean the Axe raiders in the ice map. No amount of aggro-drawing and then slaying helped me. Also forgot about the one that just spawns beetles on the other side of the map. Do little guys have different hitzones? I've always assumed they just got one.

I think small monsters are all one hitzone, except for maybe ogretails? They might have a separate hitzone for their head and everything else.

GE's port is fine. Capped at 60 FPS but scales nicely. For a while it didn't work with processors that didn't support AVX but that got patched. Though people still report it doesn't work for them. The most annoying thing is it has no AA except for FXAA which does fuck all. Even Reshade can't deal with the jaggies in this game for some fucking reason.

Vein will run on UE4 so that's a completely different beast.
