You know that's subjective, right?

Late 2000s

in 10 years people will make these threads about yooka laylee and games from this time. this genuinely fills me with dread.

When you got older.

So you aren't looking forward to the sequel?

Serious answer? 2003 - 2006 when being a nerd got gentrified, the advent of the dirt cheap laptops for "watching youtube and checking my email" brought the normies to computer entertainment in droves. Game companies realized quickly they could sucker in a 10x larger audience if they just dumped any semblance of challenge out of games in favor of a faux sense of accomplishment, overcoming trivial challenges with flashy fanfares at the end.

By the release of the 360 it was already too late.

Worst 2d zelda

bump

It's on the lower end but the original NES Zelda is the worst

Should I make spaghetti for dinner tonight Yea Forums?

Why does the frog always drink piss?

>make a spiritual successor to a 3d collectathon
>people shit all over it so turn it into a generic 2.5d platformer shit
Fuck this. What pussies. Why not improve on what they did with the first rather than turn their game into something even more bland?

very true

A mix of getting older so you are more picky over how you spend your hard earned money, and how games are becoming cop paste yearly installments that do the same things and chase every fad. Games aren't fun, it's concocted to make money first and foremost.

Y

Right there

Not at all. At least that one let's you explore

>When did games lose their soul?
The moment souls became a meme

>you now remember when super mario sunshine was constantly a punchline but now that the babbies that grew up on it can type that game is now revered

I think i'm finally beginning to understand the soul/soulless dichotomy.

Sure, are you making homemade sauce?

When did Yea Forums become 75% just repeating the same bullshit "jokes" day in and day out? It was always trash in this regard, but these days it's so forced and over the top.

Why does Link sleep with an old man turned into a hat when there is a separate bed right there?

Of course!

2007 was the beginning of the end for everything.

>2011
>not repeating the same memes over and over

PS3 era

>He hasn't seen the posts made by cod babies about Halo, MW2 and Gears Of War being good
Oh yeah Yea Forums will be so much worse in 7 years time when it comes to taste

What was wrong with part 1?

Zelda II is the worst one for me.

God damn there's so much soul in OG Lion King. Never appreciated it as much as a kid.

And yet most of the memorable scenes are stolen from Kimba.

I wish I could sleep with shota link

Back in the age of Brown n Bloom when everything had to look realistic

I was going for "when you grow up" but basically this.
In 3 years someone will put the words "soul" and "fortnite" in the same sentence

>halokiddies have to suffer the same I h ave
God I wish I could go ahead in time and see they cry like a little bitch when people start jerking off halo 4

3D can't express emotions as good as 2D can. Shockers. Still made millions though.

It was a complete ripoff, but still animated well. Only makes nu Lion King even more pathetic.

When you grew up.

I enjoyed the concept. We need a sequel or something.

Soul is a subjective buzzword used to feebly apply a blanket statement about a game's aesthetics. If you mean "losing unique aesthetic traits," that occurred whenever games started valuing a quick buck over crafting a genuinely unique gaming experience.
