I got it for free on HB year ago. I keep hearing people say it’s among the top 50 games of all-time and stuff
Is this game any good?
a lot of poeople like it
read the synopsys and find out if you find it interesting
I've only played like 2 hours of it, but from what I've played it's nowhere close to classics like Thief Gold.
It's a 3D platformer with an original setting and premise.
>this collectaton platformer is nowhere this fps stealth game
right? it's also completely worse than sim city, you can't even build anything! what the fuck were they thinking?
also you can’t raise a family like in the sims
The Concept is great
A few of the levels are good, the approach to mental health is above average for video games
The actual gameplay is mid to shit tier, enjoy collecting tokens for 50 hours for no benefit
as a platformer, it's mediocre but if you care more about story than gameplay you might like it.
You actually grinded for the cobweb Duster?
It's a typical somewhat clunky PS2 era platformer, but it runs fine on modern systems, supports widescreen + modern controllers. The gameplay is mostly mediocre but the story is quirky and the humor is reminiscent of the old boomer stuff.
More importantly, the sequel is finally coming out later this year, so you might as well just play it, so you know what's what.
It was fantastic until I got to the asylum. Playing that theatre stage was awful and I dropped the game then and there.
Supposedly it gets better again after that but it's not worth it.
>the sequel is finally coming out later this year
this, it has some of the most creative levels in the genre and great visuals, but you're not playing for the platforming
I dropped it on that sea level, damn it still got PS2 save waiting to be resumed from years ago
It’s good for one play through at least. It’s a pretty long platformer and you have to be patient since you do lots of backtracking as new areas and abilities unlock allowing you to find new ways to traverse them. Its main strong points are the story, wit, characters, artstyle, and exploration. Otherwise gameplay is a bit repetitive and clunky, but isn’t too bad. It also has a slightly creepy atmosphere too especially when you explore enough to find out the back stories of the characters and other mysteries about the camp. Definitely worth playing just so you can play the Milk Man level, which is the best level in my opinion.
>huuuur the platforming is not that good
Then think of it as an adventure game, faggots. The levels are great and they all constitute some sort of puzzle you have to figure out bit by bit. Story and characters are very memorable as well.
It peaks at Milkman Conspiracy.
Although the Napoleon level was pretty good too.
>you do lots of backtracking as new areas and abilities unlock allowing you to find new ways to traverse them
That happens like once or twice, and only for Raz's level. Unless you're talking about the cobweb duster, which you can get earlier anyways
The game dabbed really hard on TRADITIONAL FAMILY VALUES btw. So keep this in mind. Some actual quotes from the game:
"You'd better not try and steal my husband. Tramp."
"When my husband drinks excessively, I may threaten him with this rolling pin, although we are still very much in love."
"This is my house and I am responsible for its upkeep."
"For the last several years I have relied on prescription medication to make it through the days."
"Although over time my husband will desire me less sexually, he will always enjoy my pies."
"Though I do not receive a paycheck, I consider my homemaking to be my occupation."
Its one of those games where you keep going for its charm instead of gameplay
your favorite game isn't perfect. get over it fanboy.
To be honest, might as well just watch a longplay, the gameplay wasn't good even on release.
