I'm replaying some old favorites like fire emblem. I tried a couple recent-ish games like blue reflection and my computer couldn't handle them. Any recommendations for cute anime girl games that are relatively low spec?
>that soulless generic-ass anime design
>heterochromia
What a fucking pile of shit.
Kill yourself.
I was paid to review this game, got it for free early, and it was so dogshit I didn't even get like a third of the way in. Reviewed it a shit score as if I had finished it and moved on.
I fapped to the upskirts a bit but thats about it
>Generic anime
I keep seeing this fucking phrase on this board, it doesn't mean anything. Anime has tons of styles, how can you call something "anime" as if it means anything
Her game.
I was playing in the switch but now it won't turn on.
What do? I connect it to the TV, the switch screen goes black, the green light turns on, but no image is received on the TV.
Charge it
Breath of the Wild.
Hello, Jade Sayers.
nope. who even
I'm playing this retard's game
Only a fraud would say that, Jade.
Still on my first playthrough of ToV DE. I've previously played the 360 version 3 times (10 years ago). Kind of stuck on a rut after Zaude. I'm debating popping the level up items and rushing my way to the end of the game to get NG+ (which I'd probably put off for god knows when)
Nia's game, I love it
What is THE best magical girl game ever made?
Sailor Moon arcade.
Blue Dragon. It was on sale on Xbox One and I'm enjoying the fuck out of it. I've been looking too hard for a game that makes me interested but this did it.
Blue Dragon starts off really slow, especially when the first several hours you're surrounded by nothing but brown, but it really opens-up mid-way through Ch2.
Ok, but pls don't spoil.
why did the mods delete the last thread?
Another Eden, if it counts.
So I shouldn't mention that it's revealed that one of your party members'd dragon is actually an Ancient Spirit of Evil, who gains the ability to Transform This Decayed Form to Mumm-Ra The Ever-Living, right?
Okay, that doesn't happen. But you DO want to have at least one of your characters (preferably Shu) learn & level-up Field Barrier ASAP.
Because mods are tranny fags from ResetEra who do it for free, duh.
Because these threads are always being made by the same person and have been getting spammed for over a year now and until Koei Tecmo or Gust start handing money over Yea Forums is not their personal fucking advertisement platform
Imagine reaching this level of paranoia inside your head over an anonymous imageboard
Who the FUCK would be trying to shill people on a 2-year-old PS4 game?! You're fucking psycho, bitchboi.
Bought this game and it was utter trash. Anyone even thinking about buying this shit don't.
Custom Maid 3D 2 is coming to Steam and not only does it actually have more content in it than Blue Reflection but you can actually fap to it, the game is cheaper and has mod support which doesn't require editing game code itself to use
>you can actually fap to it
You can fap to Blue Reflection as well, that doesn't really depend on the game.
How many levels of triggered are you right now?
This thing was so bad I was going to actually ask the developers to refund me for my time spent pirating it
I played that, i felt bad for kishida mel because their artwork was used on a really shitty game.
MC personality is atrocious, the camera keeps putting the player on voyeur situations like behind the plant on her bathroom and the gameplay is garbage.
Dragon quest 11. I got my boat and found this casino, then proceeded to play the slots till I had 150k tokens. I guess I'll go progress the story now. When do I get the cute black haired gi?
A smart business decision for Gust would be to stop making video games and instead move to Manga or Anime but that won't happen because they are Koei Tecmo's little bitch of a sugar daddy
Redpill me on Blue Reflection. Why does it suck so much?
FFX-2, the ultimate in "I hope nobody sees me playing this" vidya.
Played a few other entries in the series, is this one worth the price?
FFX

Nia is shit and irrelevant though..
I remember my dad entering my room while playing that and it was specifically that cutscene early in the game where Rikku falls off a ledge and Yuna and Paine catch her hands and try to bring her up and the camera makes you see a lot of fanservice. I was like 14 or something, all my dad said was "Well at least I know you're not gay."
I recently finished Romancing SaGa 2. The Seven Heroes were not prepared to deal with the God-Emperor of Mankind. At one point only the Emperor and my seemingly-indestructible iris were left standing, but I managed to endure the deluge of attacks and recover from that position. THE EMPEROR PROTECTS.
I haven't decided yet whether I'll go ahead and do a second playthrough, or move onto another game for a while. I'm a little tempted to revisit SaGa 2 or Minstrel Song, as this game has reminded me why I enjoy the series so much.
What got me to stop playing was the MC constantly having meltdowns towards the other girls.
Playing this game, it's pretty good so far. I'd say the story is quite captivating. It's nice that compile heart tries to make better games.
I heard that the battles are way too easy
Recently finished Atelier Rorona and started Atelier Totori. Pretty good games.
They don't exclusively star animu girls, but I recommend emulating Growlanser 4, Wild Arms XF, Yggdra Union, and Gungnir.
How do I start getting into Sword Art Online
Huff glue.
what a fucking reddit response
Wow, American Indians in the 1920s looked like that?!
I am loving the transforming indian girl.
>Goes to invite spirit to live in her
>Spirit goes right for the womb and leaves a womb tattoo

what a fucking newfag response
I've recently finished a couple DQ games and Lufia II. Someone help me decide between Suikoden II and Radiant Historia next
You don't.
Play Hollow Fragment and work your way up. Some might recommend to skip Last Song, but I think you should at least give it a shot. Oh yeah, there is also a crossover game with Accel World, which I believe plays the same as Lost Song, so you can skip that too if you end up disliking Lost Song.
I bought it twice. Imported the limited japanese version then bought the US version to support it here. I liked it though it wasn't perfect. 7/10
I enjoyed both games, but I'm more fond of Suikoden 2 overall.
I wouldn't recommend SAO games unless you're a fan of the source material or at least you saw the anime and don't dislike it.
It's just SAO fanservice central and Kiritowank all the way.
Played and finished it last month, with an advice or two from Yea Forums. Great game, but it would be better if they, you know, explained some things instead of "here is NG plus, you can start it at any time if you fuck up."
Which leads us to next game that is also not explained very well, and I am playing it at the moment.
>The Last Remnant
Fuck me, I have no idea how was I able to beat it on X360 with zero knowledge and help from wiki. I'm stuck at UFO quest or, to be precise, at Fiery Gate. I know it's not mandatory to kill it, but I want to. My teams are weak, from 34xx to 40xx HP, which is usually not enough to survive enemies' Caustic Blast V
I guess I will come back later. It would be funny if I kill The Fallen with these teams but not Gate, lol.
>heterochromia
Stop using this garbage to start JRPG threads
Getting close to beating the original phantasy star. Feel kinda bad im using an faq. Just want to try out other games too and not wonder around forever like I did as a child. Dont have that same freetime anymore
I fell for the people hyping up Tales of Vesperia. It's not very good. 20 hours in and I think I might be done. I never start it up because I feel like playing, it always just feels like doing a tedious chore I feel compelled to do because of sunken cost fallacy.
> it always just feels like doing a tedious chore I feel compelled to do because of sunken cost fallacy.
Welcome to JRPGs
>playing pokemon crystal
>lapras only shows up on friday
>autism doesn't allow me to leave until i catch everything there
ffffffffffff
Currently about 30hrs into Tales of Vesperia DE with Zestiria being next in line (only Tales I played before is Berseria).
It's alright, but I'm super triggered that neither Nan no Sodia are playable party members.
Nan in particular makes me sad, what a top tier design.
>Great game, but it would be better if they, you know, explained some things
I'm generally fine with the SaGa approach of leaving the player to figure things out for themselves, but I do wish the game allowed you to actually view the full stats of each piece of armor. Being given a single number to sum up what a piece of armor does is not especially helpful, especially as that number is apparently just slash resistance.
Bloodstained.
Took a break because that Veldar boss fucked my fucking ass.
>It's nice that compile heart tries to make better games.
barring the Dark Rose game, their non Nep games have been hitting it out the park this generation
He's been doing it for over a year now and despite how many times his threads are removed and he's banned he simply refuses to take the hint which is why a running theory is he's being paid to do it
hope your not playing on hard because the game is a chore on hard
Exactly.
I'll just admit it, I like heterochromia while acknowledging it as cheesy and corny
Okay so there's no difference between anime and American cartoons then
It's boring as fuck
Just going through RPGs on 3DS since that’s the only good thing for it.
Currently on Radiant Historia
How many of you have put down a game because you were frustrated with it, when in reality you were just pissed you had to go to work later in the day/wake up early?
I've played and hated numerous games. Upon giving them a second chance when i have several days off in a row i find out enjoying it much more substantially. Dont blame the game.
Be aware that the Gust ports are utter shit. They somehow manage to make the cutscenes incredible GPU intensive and I have no clue why or how.
Honestly, I had no problems playing Monster Hunter World on my old GPU, but the cutscenes were too much.
Not for Xenosaga, at least. Those games were just bad.
Alright. I've started on it before but for some reason never got that far
>implying
Xenosaga was kino
Super slow character movement, boring dungeon design, literally just super long corridors coupled with bad movement, an annoying MC and battles were way too easy.
I think the underlying story could be interesting, but the game is just too annoying and boring to keep playing it.
Lost Odyssey.
I missed out on it at the time and since it looks like it will never get a PC release or well emulated, I picked up an old 360 today and a copy. Fucking awesome game.
I'm just replaying some tales of bersaria
how is there like 2 of these generic anime games coming out a month, who the fuck buys this trash?
me, i cant keep up
Based dad
>Xenosaga was kino
Yeah, if you like pretentious bullshit and dumb soap opera character arcs.
Yea Forums is fucking retarded
>but I do wish the game allowed you to actually view the full stats of each piece of armor.
They started doing it since the PS2 games.
Nowadays the games are as transparent as they can be relatively to SaGa's approach, which is kinda boring honestly since you have no more surprises like cursed equipment or fun hidden bonuses.
Battles are way too easy
You get recharged on your MP between fights so you can spam your best AoE attacks every fight
No traditional level ups so you don't even have to fight
About a third or halfway through you get so many of those crystals that can upgrade attacks that you can break the game without even trying hard
It was on Vita too so all areas are super tiny and completely empty with tons of loading screens between the small areas because Vita couldn't handle anything more than boring, bland, tiny areas
It really boils down to being too easy.
Nah, playing on normal and it's still a fucking chore. Not difficult. Just tedious.
>What JRPG is Yea Forums currently playing?
ol Shin Megami Tensei 1.
None. Playing Anno 1488
I do, yeah.
Remember: Mazio is your best friend for the later half of the game.
Chrono Trigger. Just got to the Black Omen.
Final Fantasy 4.
It's really tedious.
how much longer until i get to the best part of the game AKA the Wastelands of Tokyo? I'm already in the realm after being warped outta the nukage.
I wanted to like that game because all of the characters were just so likable and fleshed out, but it did just so many gameplay things wrong that I just fell off it.
Right after this dungeon, actually. Be warned, though. You're approaching the toughest part of the game.
>this entire post
Playing Tales of the abyss with japanese audio.
I hate it
>Yea Forums is not their personal fucking advertisement platform
Are you retarded? Yea Forums is full of all kinds of shills now. Hiroshitgook loves it.
i see why, chaos hero and law hero leave your party again
I found the combat pretty fun I would switch on and off the other characters
Blue Reflection is shit and not matter what kind of thread you create to latch this game onto isn't going to change that fact
Yeah, it's gonna be a bit tricky until you get the heroine back. Be especially wary of a certain dungeon that has you going into someone's mind. The demons in that one are tough as nails.
bravely Second. Right near the end and the whole seeing my own face thing had me laugh my ass off at 2am.
What's the best JRPG on PC?
They pull off that shit again in Second? Yikes
Tales of Destiny and it sucks
Dark Souls.
Dragon Quest XI
it's the best in the series.
Was last thread deleted for being too video game related for Yea Forums?
Final Fantasy XV
There's a daytime janitor that hates JRPGs and always deletes the threads.
Final Fantasy XIV
I started Tales of Berseria, and it's my first Tales game, but I don't know if I like it all that much.
Waiting for Fire Emblem to come out.
Did you try Fairy Fencer F? It's pretty good too, my favorite game from them.
I bet he loves the game
who the fuck plays this shit
I don't like the art style and the yuribait
I don't really get why this board hates Blue Reflection so much. I've played it a couple of months ago and enjoyed the hell out of it. Sure, it's not perfect, way too easy for the most part and sometimes rough around the edges, but combat itself is great, customization is great, boss fights are (and play) amazing, and soundtrack is awesome. Then again, I'm a sucker for mahou shoujo stuff so maybe I'm kinda biased.
...
Not a JRPG
It runs like ass on my Vita and the DLC pricing assumes you wipe your ass with gold leaves. Poor optimization and awful pricing makes the game seem like a lazy cashgrab trying to capitalize on the artstyle.
Gaidelian - Legend of Liberty
ERISA - Sun Theatre
Spika Legend - Ribert Odysee
Legensel Memories
Eternal Ghost
Don't play KT Vita ports.
That top one can't be real can it?
Very slowly replaying SMT IV: Apocalypse, on Apocalypse difficulty. Skipping through most of the dumb ass plot, the gameplay itself is pretty good.
It'll never not be fun that the Switch version somehow manages to look worse than the Vita one with its fucked up lighting.
I have a question for any Trails fans...
I've finished all of Sky, and I want to play Zero. Generally, I'd prefer to beat all the remaining games before the Cold Steel 3 comes out, but it's not necessary.
Is the current fan translation of Zero/Ao servicable? I don't mind replaying Sky while I wait for Geofront but it's been like half a year since those fuckers have updated and apparently they said on Twitter that things are going slow still.
IVA has some of the best mechanics in the whole series, it's just that the plot is shit
It is very real. Even though KT sucks at making ports it's not entirely their fault since almost every Vita port of a JRPG that isn't a DRPG looks or runs like ass on the system. The gap between Vita and PS4 is just too large and no amount of optimization can fix that.
Here's a quick comparison of BR on PS4 and Vita.
imgur.com
A bit rough, but they are okay. Ao is better than Zero.
Bonus points if English is your second language, then you are more likely to not notice the problems with the translation as much.
If you decide to wait, I would also wait with playing Cold Steel. Despite what some people might say, the series is really intended to be played in order (even Falcom says so) and at the latest it will become quite obvious during CS 3.
Nah, KT is just really bad when it comes to ports. The Vita was capable of having some rather beautiful RPGs like Ys, Tokyo Xanadu, Cold Steel and Cyber Sluts.
>The Vita was capable of having some rather beautiful RPGs like Ys, Tokyo Xanadu, Cold Steel
I sure hope you're joking.
Ys origin and Yakuza kiwami if that counts
In terms of characters? Sure
In terms of gameplay and story? Nah
Right is literally soulful
No, the games I mentioned looked quite good. Obviously, the comparison screen makes the Vita version seem look worse due to the upscaling of the screenshot. The games are miles above the Atelier games or Blue Reflection.
Sure, at the end of the day they are still handheld games, but graphically the best any handheld offered until the Switch came.
Ys VIII, Tokyo Xanadu and Cyber Sluts were all Vita exclusives that later got PS4 ports when they came westward. Cold Steels were designed from the beginning to work well on Vita like limiting the amount of characters on screen at a time, and they were PS3/Vita multiplats.
If it were just KT that made shitty ports on Vita I'd agree with you. It's pretty much every company that makes a game that's on PS4 and Vita that has a shitty Vita version unless if the game was built from the ground up for Vita then later ported elsewhere.
if you went into it expecting a engaging plot, well, tales will rarely do that, specially not vesperia since it doesnt do much of anything til the very end, combat is usually what keeps people engaged in it
>Cold Steels were designed from the beginning to work well on Vita like limiting the amount of characters on screen at a time
Oh, bullshit. The Japanese launch of these games was riddled with performance issues and bad load times. Sony had to personally step in and help with the games' development since Falcom had a tough time programming for the Vita. And we didn't even get good games out of it. CS1, CS2, and TX were all subpar as hell, even if you think the visuals are nice.
They mentioned in interviews specifically that they had to tone down scenes, and even change up scenes to have less people appear because the Vita version couldn't handle it. They even cut out content from the games because they couldn't fit it all on a single Vita cart since 4GB or around 3.3GB was all they could work with. Even then the ports weren't perfect because they were subnative resolution, and any time lots of characters were on screen, McBurn activated his super saiyan, or during the festival the framerate absolutely shit itself.
Suikoden II.
It's a fucking blast right out the gate.
playing tales of symphonia for the bubillionth time
I'm having a blast on Dragon Quest XI. My only issue is that status effects are too broken in this game at least in draconian mode they are. I barley beat thot bitch Jade in this fight with the amount of times she fucking charms everyone except based homo Sylvando but then they throw another bullshit as boss at you right after without allowing you to heal/prep/save and he keeps fucking my shit up with his bullshit dance spam.
how the fuck do people enjoy tales of games?
Rorona is when the series jumped the shark into moe girls. Fans will accept it the one or two times but when every entry since then has been about cute girls, the potential customer base with the requisite tastes narrows.
Ayesha rendered the time limit near pointless with how easy it was to beat, and Escha straight up removed it, and that negatively affects the gameplay as it was designed around the time limit system in the first place.
There was a lot of hype for Shallie as it would wrap up the story of the Dusk trilogy, only for it to not really conclude the trilogy. Plus, the gameplay was disappointing.
KT advertised Sophie as being "not crap like Shallie", banking on nostalgia for Arland, and then it turned out to be crap like Shallie. Consequently, sales for Firis plummeted.
Lulua is Gust at their most desperate, once again banking on the Arland name to move copies, whilst being stuck in the pit they dug for themselves with the moe. They teased Lulua's father and then didn't have the guts to confirm him. If they confirmed Sterk as the father, they would've piss off the people they baited with Yuri, and if they had confirmed Cordelia they would've pissed off everyone else, so they just said "Lulua is adopted"
Ryza will pull in a few new fans on Switch but hype for Atelier is at an all time low.
The IP block was removed in the USA last month.
I don't know. I've tried multiple different entries and I don't particularly enjoy the battle system at all.
>Lulua is adopted
That's fucking shit.
the one with the ass picture in the OP? Take a guess.
Genius of Sappheiros
imagine caring this much about a cute series aimed at actual females
>Rorona is when the series jumped the shark into moe girls
uuum no sweetie
Is Seiken Densetsu 3 worth the hype/reputation it has? Tempted to grab that collection released recently
I've only played Graces and fought the combat got fun eventually, it's shit at the beginning when you don't have enough AP to do much in battles though. Story was completely generic and forgettable anime stuff but some of the skits at least made the cast endearing enough I guess?
Is dragon quest 11 a good entry point for the series?
Seiken Densetsu is just a medicore series in general.
It's a quality game, but it's pretty heavy on content. I'd recommend starting with a shorter, lighter title like DQIII.
Thanks dude
I'll pirate ine of those atelier things
Playing Omega Labyrinth Z to prepare for Omega Labyrinth Life in a few weeks.
It's actually pretty fun.
Dark Cloud is harder than I remember, but maybe that's just because it's the first dungeon so I don't have crazy built up weapons. I don't remember much of the game but I'm really loving it all over again
Typical strategy is to keep upgrading the starter weapon and then turn it into a gem, repeat a few times for quickly boosting attack on weapons. That's what I remember doing years ago anyway. Anyone got any important tips other than that?
Make sure you have an autorepair powder sitting in your active items so you don't even accidentally break your weapon permanently.
Final main dungeon is finished. Just need to wrap up the womb of grief. Great game.
I dropped strongest monster so that I wouldn't drop the game instead. I wasn't really a fan of some regular fights feeling like final bosses and the RNG was fucking me hard against that boss on the volcano. Played until the end after that and had a blast even with the default dificulty.
An actual magical girl rpg
By playing the best Tales aka the 2D ones.
Looks like mobile garbage, so not a game
Had fun with Mem Aleph? Even on Redux it's a bit of a filter
Still a better game than yuribait relection
I just want a good magical girl rpg
I'm trying to give BoF Dragon Quarter another shot. Game is even more brutally ass-reaming than I remember. I couldn't even get past the first bloody area without restarting to give me some extra cash to stock up on med kits, and I barely scraped through after doing that.
Is there some kinda trick to this game? I was under the impression that bombs and dynamite would do a lot more damage than they ended up doing for stuff that you have a finite amount of taking up your very limited inventory slots. I thought this game was possible without restarting and maybe that's true if you get lucky with the roguelike randomization bullshit, but I don't see it otherwise
Are any of the Mysterious Trilogy games any good? I'm thinking of picking one up on sale, but I hear they took out a lot of the time management that I liked in Rorona.
Finished as in I stopped just before the final boss. To my understanding I have to finish the womb before fighting the final boss or I don't get the new ending, right? Do I even fight her considering I went chaos?
Magic Knight Rayearth on Saturn exists. I recommend playing it with all the Working Designs difficulty changes removed.
Oh right, you actually have to complete the Womb to get the new endings, my bad.
>Do I even fight her considering I went chaos?
yes
Dragons Dogma Online and SMTIV:A aka SMT infected with Persona
if all you want is cute girls they are okay, they might as well be visual novels at this point though
Nice. I've played on expert and nothing has given me too much trouble, although I was typically slightly over leveled because of the womb. I imagine the base game was a fucking nightmare.
what's wrong with heterochromia?
Here's something 100 times better than mobile shit. And in english too.
Sorry, I prefer my magical girls to be carpetmunchers
I remember fighting Mem Aleph for the first time in the original. I got dunked so hard my first thought was that it was copy protection, since I was playing a ROM.
I’m playing Another Eden, and it’s pretty much all I’ve been playing for the past several months.
I'm about to start Yggdra Union
what am I in for?
wait are you for real!?
Yeah the womb gives enough extra XP to make the main dungeons slightly easier, that's very true. Still, I really liked the Womb and all the added content in general so I believe the remaster was a net positive.
I definitely got destroyed and had to grind my way up to 91 to fuse Shiva. Also used an emulator so with enough framerate speed ups the grind wasn't too much of a hassle
>muh time limits
Gulcasa destroying your team early game.
Its a game where the earliest parts are the hardest because strategy is more important than pure stat power. Also as per Dept. Heaven games, complicated battle system.
Awakened Fate Ultimatum. It's dark and depressing. Yay. Might need to play something happier later.
>Is Seiken Densetsu 3 worth the hype/reputation it has?
Honestly, the whole series is largely carried by the aesthetics/production values. I say this has someone who really enjoyed Secret of Mana and Legend of Mana. The games do have their good points, but the combat is terrible, and its baffling that the developers never managed to address any of the problems with it.
Some of them are genuinely good games that are worth caring about.
A very good tactical RPG. I strongly advise against using a walkthrough to look up the locations of hidden items and such. The game was clearly balanced around the player only finding a handful of them.
Playing Chrono Trigger again, but when I finish I'll go back to playing atelier games.
>I thought this game was possible without restarting and maybe that's true if you get lucky with the roguelike randomization bullshit, but I don't see it otherwise.
I managed to pull it off in an "ironman" run. Luck doesn't really factor into it, but the game does punish mistakes extremely hard. Unfortunately, it has been quite a while since I last played it, so I can't give much specific advice. I do recall the bait and healing items being much more valuable than explosives, especially bait. Bait solves all sorts of problems.
What's the best JRPG for romance?
Good romance or shallow bullshit meant for self-insert MCs?
You're telling me, man, I basically locked myself into a dead game by saving just before the first boss fight. Without the right item setup, it seems actually impossible. Everyone complains about the D-counter, but I can't even get to that point
The latter, of course.
If I remember which fight that is correctly, there's a trick to it. The boss is pretty large, and there are parts of the map it can't fit into. You can actually maneuver into a position where you can hit it, but it can't hit you.
Fuck lads I haven't played since April because of the restless knight on hard mode.
should I just give in and play it on normal?
I just finished Xenogears. I SHOULD start Dragon Quest XI next, if I don't get sidetracked by other games
Yggdra Union had such an incredibly nice artstyle. I should replay it, but I also remember the game being weird as hell for someone whose only TRPG experience was FFT and Fire Emblem.
Hope you've been saving up those gems, user. Suzette AS is just around the corner.
>Ryza will pull in a few new fans on Switch but hype for Atelier is at an all time low.
I wonder how fast those new fans will drop the series when they realise that it's just a CGDCT moeshit without male leads or actual romance because Gust doesn't want to lose their waifu and yurishit auditory.
Don't know but Fatal Bullet was kind of fun. Not a great game by any means, and $40 is all too expensive (though it's on sale at the moment), but I was entertained for the duration.
Especially the part where you have to grind relationship ranks for the true ending, and the most efficient method of doing this is letting your party members repeatedly die in a corner while you sit in safety reviving them.
nothing
I finished Adventures of Mana on Vita the other day, haven't started something else yet.
The cyclops with Nina.
I'm not sure about that, but I did notice that its movement range is smaller than Ryu's so I should be able to just tap it and run. Can't believe I didn't think of that. Too bad I did the save reset already
Growlanser 4.
>I also remember the game being weird as hell for someone whose only TRPG experience was FFT and Fire Emblem.
Sting was pretty fond of having unique mechanics in their games. It's worth putting in the effort to get past the learning curve, though.
Currently playing DQ8 and I just got Jessica on the team.
Dragon Quest V!
I really want to get into this series, the classic ones especially. It'll click someday for me, I think. I've always been into RPGs, the progression for me has been Pokemon for much of my younger life, then the Mother series and now Dragon Quest. Eventually I'll go on a SMT deep dive.
Finished trails in the sky FC and SC in thye past week.
Can't bring myself to play the rest of the series knowing that estelle and joshua aren't the MCs.
Maybe I'll play Tokyo Xanadu next.
None because I only play good games.
Its over-reliance on RNG bullshit is definitely not for everyone, so I don't blame you for having a tough time getting into it.
the sprite work gets me motivated to finish it SMT II and if.. make it a step above SMT 1's
Yeah, in general, you want to do everything you can to avoid getting into slugfests with enemies. Proper positioning and movement is extremely important.
I got slaughtered the first couple times I fought that thing too, and it was embarrassing when I realized that it's actually not that hard to avoid ever being attacked by it.
I started smt 2 and liked the idea but I was so fucking lost that I had to put it down. An apocalyptic Tokyo is a great idea for a game series imo so I just need to play one that sticks.
I've tried smt iv, no luck really, didnt like how it opened but I might go back to it.
I'm gonna keep trying when I get a little tired with dq but I've been having sk much fun lately.
The graphics in SMT2 improve, but the music gets noticeably worse. Hell, I'd argue it's the worst in the main series. So many short, repetitive loops.
Are Atelier games actually good? I can't say I've ever seen a gameplay video, let alone discussion of them.
They're a crafting focused game instead of a standard JRPG. The Arland games(bar Lulua) have time limits that give a sense of urgency but their mainly negligible and just there. The main appeal is in crafting items through alchemy which honestly ranges on what kind of alchemy style you prefer which can be easily looked up on youtube.
They are also more of a SoL game so don't expect epic quests to fall into your lap right away. They happen later, sure, but it's mainly just living day by day as a young alchemist.
They're fun in a chill, relaxed sort of way.
I'm playing this game.
It's fun but it's also like cocaine to me.
At least with SMT if... it mixes up the music from both games a bit. Like this improved version of the basement theme
youtube.com
I ask myself the same question about Legend of Heroes and Suikoden or basically anything that Gust and Kemco put on market.
Next Disgaea better have a playable milf.
i can answer your question about kiseki, it's because they used to be alright but now they're terrible but you think they have a chance to get better again so you keep playing because of the overarching plot. did i hit the mark?
Disgaea seems more of a loli-centric game but I'd be down.
No idea, they are the worst jrpg's i've ever played. Pure garbage. It's all the worst parts of anime in one game with terrible gameplay.
currently playing Persona Q2
it's ok, but my autism is making me take too long deciding who gets what
Little did he know, amirite user
Where the fuck can I find an English version????
I enjoyed a few of the Tales of games. Then I played one I didn't like, and it somehow removed all my enthusiasm for the entire series. Now I have no interest in playing any of them ever again.
well my Milanor is down to 100 morale in the third battlefield
should I just reset?
Romancing SaGa.
Do you have any items you can sacrifice to gain morale with? If so, don't be afraid to expend them. If not, that's pretty bad. It's entirely possible to recover from that position, but it might require more finesse than you're capable of mustering at the moment. Hopefully you learned something from whatever horrible mistakes you made.
at the end of the game i realized i spent HOURS inside the menues recycling and crafting items, its what prevents me from replaying the game
god i hope Arise doesnt use the same shitty item system as berseria and zestiria
The story was just a giant mess. And I loved it.
Eudy I assume? Shes really a pain every playthrough. Durant is usually guaranteed to MVP that BF dur to terrain advantage but since I usually ditch him for the mermaid, I got to hand the MVP to other, hellish it may be.
This, but only because if you're actually good enough to beat those games it means your a 400+IQ superchad that gets all the cock he wants.
Yeah I am playing 2 right now and some extreme bullshit bosses makes me think this is going to give me way more trouble than FF IV on DS, I really like the feel non-linearity aspect can fuck you over but makes the story cooler
>Persona 5 NG+ resets your confidants and all enemies are still the same level
What's the fucking point if it doesn't add a new difficulty?
Oh yeah. RS2 is brutal, and every time you find a new boss you're probably gonna get fucked the first few times. Just remember to try everything.
Thanks for the recommendation, not quite what I'm looking for at the moment but I enjoyed all four of those games and GL4 and Yggdra Union in particular are among my all-time favorites.
Yeah I haven't been able to play anything from gust on PC.
Anyone know how well the 'Tales of' PC ports run on minimum specs?
This game was bad and I traded it in as soon as I finished it but I can't say I would buy a sequel.
beat the special boss, watch the gym events, fish, do all the other stuff you couldnt do because you were maxing confidants and stats in your first playthrough also merciless difficulty
I died to Dantarg at least 10 times but somehow beat tge seven on the second attempt.
