Pirate game

>Pirate game
>Buy it afterwards
Be honest, when was the last time you actually did this?

Attached: 1511327153649.png (707x541, 528K)

Yesterday

Dragon Quest VIII 3DS release.

>buying games

Card City Nights
Ittle Dew 2
Slime Rancher
Kenshi
Tales From The Borderlands (too little, too late)
Gonna be Outer Wilds, when it releases on a storefront that's not cancer.

Why WOULDN'T you do this?

>Buy game
>pirate it afterwards
Fucking Dragon Quest IX, man.

Attached: DQIX_Classes.png (1080x900, 2.05M)

Divinity 2 and Witcher

Kindred Spirits on the Roof a couple years ago

EDF5, yesterday.

X3:Terran Conflict

>Pirate game
Cant recall when was the last time I actually did this.

I pirated the 3DS and WiiU versions of Hyrule Warriors and I'm planning on buying the Switch version now.

I played Final Fantasy XIV because I had pirated FF4-9

Wizard of Legend

Sometimes, I just pirate things to see if they will even run on my PC before buying them.

Kero Blaster
Rain World

Smash Ultimate

I did this for Distant worlds, although that was actually the second to last time I did this. The last time I did this was for Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, but I don't think that's fair as my dad bought it for me in 2003 when I was a kid and I ripped the files off of the disks and put them on a thumb drive which I've had since then and installing the game off of whenever I got a new PC. After losing the thumb drive I figured I might as well just buy it again on the May 4th sale because the entire Jedi Knight series was like $5.

subnautica

Dragons Dogma
Persona 3, 4, 5 Dancing

Never, I've only pirated Real Lives and porn games though. Do patreon Porn games even count as pirating?

Did this for dead cells, slay the spire, and probably will for katana zero soon too.

I did this a few times on DS when I was a poor high school kid playing it safe. Rocket Slime and Henry Hatsworth come to mind

Actually I take it back, I forgot I pirated Prison Architect when it was in very early access and didn't have alot of features, and purchased it when it actually was released

killer7

did it for:
All 3 mass effects
DMC4
faster than light
borderlands 1 and 2
darskiders 1 and 2
don't starve
dust: an elysian tail
galactic arms race
mirror's edge
recettear
saint's row the third
civ 4 and 5
sins of a solar empire
spellforce 2

That's not inclusive I'm sure I'm not including all the times I've done this.

New Vegas
Did it for convenience since it was like $2 on sale for the ultimate edition.

>my dad bought it for me in 2003 when I was a kid
>I ripped the files off of the disks and put them on a thumb drive which I've had since then and installing the game off of whenever I got a new PC
>It's 2019 now
>JKA came out in 2003
>Installing the same game from a fucking thumb drive for 16 years
Holy shit dude

>pirating in 2030 when everyone's trying to stick a cryptominer down your urethra
no

Like 2 weeks ago, risk of rain 2 and the same with the original way back, even bought 2 copies to play with me bro; its probably more common than you think

I pirate everything on PC, and if I enjoyed it and want to replay it I'll buy it on console I have no idea why I do it

With Kenshi a few months ago. I've done it plenty of times. Most games end up being too shit to pay for desu.

Shadowrun

Attached: Glory.jpg (1024x697, 149K)

Today, Dusk

gta 5. waited like 2 years after i pirated and completed the story to buy it during summer sale. ive played only like 20 hours online. still comfy to hop on and drive around though.

The Witcher 3, Alien: Isolation, Assetto Corsa and Dirt Rally 1. In the last two years.

Hitman 2, not having challenges was just gay as fuck. And the game was just so fucking good.

Attached: dims.jpg (1600x900, 239K)

Never, why would i?

The most recent example that comes to mind is Budget Cuts.
I had just bought my headset and didn't have the money to buy games at the time.

WH40k Dawn of War Collection, Fuel, Fallout 2.

I think it was recettear.
I felt bad after I realised it was a Japanese indie game and they probably needed the sales

Nioh and EDF5, game is more fun when you play with other people.

I haven't pirated a game in like half a decade. But I did this for almost all of them. Steam made it easy, especially with sales.
In fact it's hard to think of games I pirated or received for free from friends that I DIDN'T wind up buying eventually. Prototype and Silent Hill 2 are the only ones that comes to mind. The former because I didn't like it and didn't complete it, and the latter because I have no idea where to even buy the PC version that isn't just a used physical copy. I would if I knew.

Attached: bonedad.jpg (400x400, 49K)

Based

Borderlands 2 and Skyrim
I haven't pirated games after those two.

Undertale, so late 2015.

Attached: 57408995_p1.jpg (768x768, 58K)

either san andreas or deus ex, not sure

When the steam sale ended.
Bought Terraria with my $7.50 off coupon. So I got it for free.

Like last month with AC Odyssey.

Sneed

Rimworld and Two Point Hospital off the steam sale

Borderlands 2, not lie.
Pirated it with friends and played co op on hamachi and I plan to do the exact same with bl3 since epic already paid for my copy.
Thanks epic.

Attached: 1555449501714.jpg (978x1080, 145K)

I just did it ten minutes ago with kenshi

I do it relatively frequently with indie games. Sometimes indie devs price their games pretty high, and there's much less of a guarantee of quality when you're buying an indie game (for example, they might charge $20 and you end up with a game that's an hour long). So, I'll pirate it to try it out, and if I like it, I buy it since I want to support and encourage small devs.

Cuphead. I was really impressed by those guys and all the effort and love they poured into it. I haven't spent a single dime since then.

did this for dark souls
thanks microsoft

BotW. Didn't even a have a Switch so I had to get one of those too. I'm no pirate.

I was gonna buy Dying Light, Borderlands 2 and Dead Island after I pirated them because I like keeping track of how many hours I've spent. Except those games fucking sucked so I deleted them.

Hollow Knight
Baldurs Gate 1 + 2
Fallout 1 + 2
Deus Ex
Prey
D44M
I really liked these games and knew I would play them more than once, saw they were on sale and grabbed them.

Baba is You, a few days ago when it was on sale for Switch

Shit game, I bought it but should have pirated

Ive never done it desu
Last time I bought a game was 5 years ago

Lobotomy Corporation, Factorio, Baba is You, Don't Starve, Rimworld
Mostly indie shit I'm unsure of, I don't play too many AAA on pc unless I have friends shilling it to me

BOTW

Dead Rising 2

I really really liked Chuck

Did it recently with Frostpunk and Pathfinder: Kingmaker

Blaster Master Zero.
I pirated the first one on 3DS, not wanting to risk it because Blaster Master sequels were notorious for being dogshit, and it ended up being so good that I bought 2 and the PC port of 1 on release day.

Attached: D2K9RmmUgAIA0ej.jpg (1000x750, 136K)

Subahibi, last day of the steam sale.
Part of it is to write a review on the 20th of July.

Attached: Tachibana.Kimika.full.235149.jpg (900x1200, 701K)

Nier Automata.
Lacrimosa of Dana.

November 7, 1999

welp I didn't even know BL3 got confirmed for piratebay exclusive, I might check it out then

Subnautica

On the other hand
>game is not cracked yet so I buy it because I'm an impatient sheep
I have never done this.

Attached: 1426178671084.gif (500x239, 963K)

Just recently with EDF 5.

Hollow Knight last year, I think. It's also the only time I've done it

Attached: 1352214635663.jpg (500x333, 31K)

Risk of rain 2

Ck2, eu4, the Witcher 2 and 3, Skyrim, mount and blade warband and some others.

Paying for gallery access on Patreon counts?

Katamari damacy rerolled
almost pirated lobotomy corp but ended up just buying it

Risk of Rain 2

I didn't like the pink hour demo, should I still pirate kero blaster and see if I like it

Mother 3 I guess. Granted it was bought used so it doesn't really count.

VtM:Bloodlines. I regret the buying it on Steam though before it was available on GoG

Attached: 1559243281132.jpg (1047x884, 198K)

I pirated gta v, then bought it on ps4 a couple years later

Psychonauts
Hollow knight
Europa Universalis (except the DLCs, fuck that)
All of the Fallouts up to New Vegas.

And a large fucking etc.

I did it with Portal 2 so I could play co-op with a friend. First and only instance of me buying a game I pirated.

Never since all the games I pirate are emulated retro games and haven't been ported to anything.

2012, I believe. It was Dungeon Defenders.
Been buying games ever since.

all the time
off the top of my head,
Braid
Borderlands Pre-Sequel
Dark Souls 2 & 3
Bayonetta i bought on console, pirated when it came to pc, then bought again on steam
Tomb Raider 2013
RE2make

there's surely a bunch more i just can't think of right now, mostly indieshit that i refuse to buy without playtesting first. is this a bait thread or something or are you genuinely retarded to ask this?

Resident Evil 6 and I don't regret it at all

On this year's summer sale. Got Deep Rock Galactic to play in coop with a friend. But in general I put games I pirated and liked on my wishlist so I can get them on a sale and replay them later.

>killing floor
>borderlands 2
>GTA V
Must have been a couple years since I pirated, I just wait for steam sales and humble bundles now.
I only have one option for internet and cant be assed to pay for a VPN, so I just don't do it anymore

RoR2 except I didn't buy it because I can't run it

Attached: 1558760641483.png (914x900, 754K)

i did it for sekiro.

>pirate a game
>realize its shit
>uninstall
>pirate a game
>its fun
>buy it on steam when its on sale
whats so hard to grasp about this concept?

It was an H-game tho

All the time. I usually wait for a sale and then buy all the games I liked with all the DLC.

subnautica

King of Dragon Pass. I then went on to buy it for Android so I'd have something to do on airplanes.

I never bought any game in my life. I spent all that money in college so I could at least live a bit. Now it's just out of habit.

People do this all the time with porn games and Patreon subscriptions. It's not that unusual.

Sekiro
Marvel infinite
Unist
Nioh

It's been a lot more times than that, but I usually buy the console versions if I can

oh so you're poor

>tfw bought Sekiro and haven't opened it once

TF2
:(

Pink hour is like a tech demo with one level and and only one gun with no upgrades, so really don't know if you will like it.
If you have the time then try it, it's really short and i had fun with it.

me too, I pirated and finished hollow knight just after it was released and I bought it recently to replay it with all dlcs

Done that sometimes.

Currently I pirate hard to find retro games only..

Did the forced meme poster get jannie'd or did the fag delete it because he realized no one finds it even remotely funny or engaging anymore?

Two weeks ago with lobotomy corporation

looong time ago. neverwinter nights.
it was great so i actually went into a store and bought the box

Attached: 220px-Neverwinter_Nights_cover.jpg (220x304, 20K)

Except for some early PS3 games, every game I have is pirated and I couldn't be happier with it

did it for GTA V because I needed to play the online

beyond nostalgia, this game has aged horribly desu

Oxygen not included
A Hat in Time

Attached: 15255716212.png (1366x768, 626K)

Shovel Knight cause it was 10$ at one time and thats too good too pass up. Worth it.

I haven't pirated since SimCity 4 in 2003 but I've bought the game three times since.

this week, Kingdom Hearts the story so far

I did it a bunch of times
I only buy games when they are good.
in 5 years I only spend 500-600 usd including pc parts on vidya

Civilization V

Mass Effect 2. I bought a pirate version first.

Hyperdimension Neptune rebirth 1.
I'm not going to defend anything about the game but I fell in love with the characters and the game just in general is great to chill out to. Was worth giving an honest purchase from me.

never, and i pirate games all the time

This year.
Some UK friend gave me 50 pounds that translates into a gazillion of BRL, and i used it to buy around 20 games, which more than half were games i previously pirated.

Both KOTOR games once they became available on steam, Battlefront 2, Republic Commando

Victoria 2

I pirate the games I buy. So I can have a back up.

>pirate something
>enjoy it
>buy it and give it to a friend or family member for Christmas
I do this every year. Usually with movies.

>Pirated then Bought
Labotomy Corporation
DEADBOLT
Crypt of the Necrodancer
Nuclear Throne
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic

>Bought, then pirated later for convenience
FTL: Faster Than Light
Slay The Spire
(Note taking shittop didn't handle Steam well)

>Pirated, played for a little bit, didn't like the game
Too many to list

>Shamelessly pirated, played through, and kept
Volgarr the Viking (don't want to play it again, can't justify buying)
Many emulated games

Hotline Miami 1 and 2.

>half-life 2
pirated it when i was young before i used steam, didn't attempt to play the game seriously, just fucked with console commands, eventually bought the orange box when i actually wanted to play it
>danganronpa
pirated the PC version on release it to make sure it wasn't a terrible port and then bought it shortly after
>life is gay
bought it after pirating the first 4 episodes so i could play 5 as soon as it released, it sucked but then i could use the nip DLC later so it was worth it
>life is gay before the storm
refunded when they announced denuvo, pirated, bought it later when they removed denuvo
>remember me
pirated it on release, bought it in a recent steam sale, the steam version is less stable than the pirated version and has crashes and slowdown from memory leaks, regret it

i've also bought some games physically for consoles after pirating them or playing them on something else because i like collecting them

Counter strike 1.6

>Pirate Yakuza 2
>buy every subsequent game in the series, some multiple times (jp copy first then the western release)
and
>pirate game, like it
>buy it on sale for $5-10 just to have it and maybe also to replay it

Attached: 75hgwa1.jpg (819x1200, 142K)

1.5 years ago, offworld trading company

Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core on the PSP.

I did it on the 1st during the Steam Summer Sale with Chrono Trigger. DS version is kino

last time? undertale. then i bought it for a friend.

Monster Hunter World, the only game I bought in the last year. Carried over my 250hrs save and kept going seamlessly

Well when Dragon's Dogma came out for PC I decided to try it out after hearing so much about it. I didn't even wait for a sale to buy it afterwards, I even transfered my save file.

Every PS1 game I buy now falls into this. The only original "game" I had for it growing up was the demo disc that came with it

Ahem * inhales loudly into mic *
@sssssssaNEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDSDDDDDDDDDDDDD

hahaha

Attached: 1561655103892.png (292x269, 178K)

Does it count if i bought that game's sequel because of it?

years ago with dark souls and will happen again the next time dragon's smegma goes on sale because I really liked it and I regret not buying it now

Mega Man 11 last year

Same, except like an idiot I bought the game on GoG and EE on Steam before I knew how to use pirated keys to get multiplayer working. I regret every cent I've wasted on that shit game with all its shit people

Plants vs Zombies

back on the summer of 2009

Animal crossing new leaf

Danganronpa 2, Senran Kagura games
Also this. Recently I've been going through my Steam library and pirating the games I still give a shit about. For future games I feel like paying for, I'll also grab a pirate copy to store away.

I did this with Muse Dash recently and I'm glad I did

Two days ago. Pirated EDF 5, played for about two hours to get a feel for it, then bought it.
Four weeks prior, I did the same thing with Pathologic 2. And before that with Rimworld. And Dusk. And Factorio. And Prey 2017. And Dishonored 2.

Basically the only game where I did not do that in recent past was Anno 1800 which I bought without pirating first, because lolnocrack. And Doom 2016 which I only pirated, but ended up not liking and thus not buying.

Skyrim
Ck2
Eu4
Hoi4
Stellaris (I use cream api for the Dlcs, I'm not buying all them, lmao)
Warhammer 2 total war
Chrono Trigger PC
KOTOR 2
Fallout 2
Fallout NV
I don't remember if I did this for any others.

Hollow knight

A Hat in Time

I don't PC game so never.

Pirated the 3DS version of Hyrule Warriors, bought it on Switch

Pirated the DS version of Disgaea and bought every game in the series thereafter.

Underrail and baba is you, last steam sale.

Sometime in fall of 2007. Realizing how much I could be saving each year, the shift to digital meaning I got nothing physical in return for my money, and the budding AAA cancer all lead to a hard brake on my spending habits. Now you're either one of a handful of indies I'll buy games from outright, or I thank you for your selfless donations to free entertainment.

I honestly don't remember the last time I DIDN't do this. Unless the game was super shit and I just deleted it

Ion Maiden

>Have CTR nitro fueled for free because of account sharing
>Enjoy it enough I buy it for myself
So yeah pretty recent

I did it with STALKER:SOC and Mass Effect 1 way back in the day, that's it.

Metro 2033

Only once. KH 358/2 Days. I wanted to have all the KH games back in the day, but then when Coded released I started uni and didn't have the money to spend in that kind of things.
Actually uni made me a piratechad. Uni is way too expensive here (more than 10000€ spent) and I have to cut expenses somewhere. Now that I work I have to find a flat to rent but again, everything is so fucking expensive. If you have anyone to blame for piracy, blame the government.

Based and me, was other way round when I didn't have a ps4 Pro but now my ps4 Pro has better specs than my pc now, my pc was better than OG ps4 but it's shite my pc now so it's juts ps4 Pro 24/7

Portal 2

worth it

Game that I pirated and then bought:
Rome Total War,
DoW 1 (all expensions - Shitstorm)
Hitman 1,2 and BM
Mount and Blade
FTL

Games that I pirated,but didn't bought:
Jedi Outcast
Jedi Academy
Startrek Elite Force 1 and 2
Allien vs Predator 2
Nolf 1 and 2
Mafia 1
Original XCOM
GTA SA

Games that I pirated and plan to buying in near future:
Halo CE (with PC version of MCC)
FEAR
Crysis

Attached: houserules.gif (320x240, 2.54M)

a month ago with Hotline Miami 1 and 2
I love both

Kerbal Space Program

Shogun 2

Witcher 3
Mount and Blade: Warband
STALKER series
Risk of Rain
Ori and the blind forest
Hollow Knight
Enter the Gungeon

Those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head.

pulsar lost colony, it's easy as shit to share, you just drag and drop from the steam folder with no drm, but was pretty fun with friends so I said fuck it and bought it on sale

Some months ago when I played Slay The Spire

I pirated RE4 on the Wii years ago and more recently bought the PC version. If that counts.

Attached: image0-119.jpg (2048x2048, 538K)

With EDF 5 and Witcher 3.

It's like a demo.

I think Fallout 3 was the last time I did it. Last time I remember doing so anyway

Piratebay exclusive for now, gearbox has made it clear it's getting on steam soon after.

This is how I make most of my purchases honestly.
I'm not gonna gamble my money on this bullshit, if its good I buy it, if its not, then I dodged a bullet.

Katana Zero is good, but for some reason the devs decided to leave the other half of the game for an upcoming update

Bloodstained, couple weeks ago

Hollow Knight
Dragon Quest XI
The Witcher 3
Monster Hunter Worlds
i could go on

Only time I did was ZTD, and that was only because I had a preorder. I learned my lesson from that.

Rimworld, shit was lit. Funnily enough, I dropped it after 40hours on steam

Around a month ago. I more often than not don't buy games after pirating, not because I pirated them but because they genuinely suck.
In fact the amount of games that I pirate has decreased enormously because I just assume they will be shit so I don't even bother.

I always pirate first.
Don't want to fuck with the refund policy, but need cloud-save (I use a few different computers for work.)
If the game is compelling enough to make me want the cloud-save, I'll buy it.

Couple of weeks ago with dragon's dogma

Dark souls remastered a few months back.
Never played a souls game and didn't want to waste the money if I didn't like it.
Also Nier Automata

last year, mhw

Wizard 101

Amid Evil.

I've been doing this a couple years ago with games like hotline miami, terraria, super meat boy and doom because i didn't have steam back then in the day.

I did this with pretty much all of my PSX games when they were added to the PSN Store

Every goddamn game I have on Steam were shit I pirated. I have a hundred titles there now.

>play a game
Why would I do this?

CK2
minecraft (thanks to that website where you could play in browser years ago)
xcom 2
Tyranny
Stellaris
Mount and Blade Warband
FTL

Attached: drink_bud_light.png (401x485, 587K)

Did it recently with Sekiro, pirated it upon release and bought it in June.

Attached: cat.jpg (613x849, 80K)

Based and EDFpilled.

Never. I started pirating games specifically because I didn't want to spend money on them anymore. And it feelsgoodman because I don't even remember what buyer's remorse feels like.

Dragon Quest IV & V DS, even could've transfered my flashcart savefile to the cart but opted for another playthrough.

Did it with Dark Souls 1
Then, i actually Pre-ordered Dark Souls 2,
i realized my mistake so i pirated 3 before buying it.

Pathologic 2

I did it with Axiom Verge.

Pokémon B2/W2.

Played the Japanese versions of all follow ups from Gen 3 to 5 before they were global releases and then still bought them after.

I haven't done it at all beyond that because I was also in a good financial place shortly after and have been since.

Now I just buy a game regardless as long as it seems to meet my general standards. Sometimes you make mistakes and have to deal with it. I'm okay with being out money when it turns out I chose wrong. I just put it back in the collection and move onto something hopefully better.

Sometimes I even just buy things I don't expect to like and it turns out I love it. The Binding of Isaac, for example. Watched someone literally 100% the remake because it was fun to watch but I thought it would be terrible to play. When he stopped while waiting for the first DLC, it turned out I still wanted it so playing it was my option.

It and the original quickly moved into top 3 in terms of hours played and I own different versions on 3 platforms now. No reason to bother pirating. I just took a risk buying it thinking I might not like to play it and it paid off handsomely.

Better question is why would you pirate something you don't want to buy later?

If it's not worth paying for then how is it worth playing at all.

To use Pokémon since I already mentioned it, as an example, I have no intention of purchasing or pirating Shit and Shite. Getting them for free wouldn't magically make them worth spending some of my limited time on. They're garbage without a delay.

Lobotomy Corporation or Kenshi. Can't remember which was first.

Hat In Time

Attached: 1551721116777.jpg (1080x1080, 139K)

The only thing I didn't buy after pirating it was Sims 4 because fuck paying for all that DLC

Sneed

Don't remember. I've bought almost every game I pirated and liked.

sneed's feed and seed

giana sisters twisted dreams with the dlc
that fuking pop up when you close the game got me
also i like the game

>half the game is locked behind DLC you can't even get anymore (without a save editor or fiddling with the wifi settings a bit, that is)
>only one save slot
It's practically asking to be pirated.

Happy?

I pirated Enter the Gungeon awhile back but since I didn't feel like torrenting 2 months after a new update came out i bought the game and enjoyed getting the updates first.

Around the time Final Fantasy V Advance released, I think.
>played the SNES version on an emulator
>bought FFVA a year later

Lobotomy Corporation

most recent steam sale, bought dark souls 2 and crash trilogy, have pirated both. did it for factorio, hotline miami, divinity os2, many other games

I'm pretty sure I've bought basically every game I've pirated that's been available on PC. If not all, the vast majority.
Not the console games though, I'm not righteous enough for that.

Never, I only pirate games I know I'll never pay for.

Too many times
But playing Ayy Isolation i quit the game after one hour, went to steam, buy it for full price, continue playing

Story of Seasons on 3DS.

Shiren on VITA.

I kept my pirated version and bought it for another user.

Mass effect 3, after the update that expanded the ending. Haven't pirated games since then

You actually played Mass Effect 3 and then willingly gave EA money for that shit?

Attached: aussie.webm (720x720, 1.72M)

Nioh. Pirated on release, put in 80 hours, bought it during the summer sale and have put in 40 hours in the past 3 weeks.

I did this with stardew valley, majora’s Mask, and most Kirby games.

Chrono trigger in 2004

Do it for a shit ton RGP's and JRPG's becuase I like owning a copy of the games I really liked.

Attached: 1437504247112.png (455x370, 151K)

I did that with grimdawn

Attached: you_ok_lil_guy.jpg (1389x1077, 170K)

I brought doom 1 and 2, together with orange box.

Cuphead
I kept the older version too because it's surprisingly fun to speedrun

Attached: Ampharos 6.png (270x301, 102K)

Factorio. Was not sure, played it for 2 hours. Instantly bought it.

I do it for fighting games. I lab abit in training mode for a while to see if I get handling of the controls or find a character I like, before deciding if I want to buy it for online play.

mario kart 8,
soul calibur 6,
gta 5

I did this when I felt bad for pirating Long Live the Queen.

>Buy game
Cant recall when was the last time I actually did this.

I've done this with:

Dead Space
Dead Space 2
Deus Ex
Deus Ex Human Revolution
FEAR + expansions
Hitman Blood Money
LISA
Max Payne
Max Payne 2
Max Payne 3
Postal 2
South Park Stick of Truth
Spec Ops The Line
Wolfenstein The New Order

pirated ys oath, loved it so much i got it for real to support falcom, also bought other ys games

battlezone 2, sims 3 and factorio. also pirated San Andreas and I'm thinking of buying. I don't pirate much as I'm not a poorfag like most of you.

Baba is You

Every game that needs an undub

Cities Skylines, because most good mods are on steam workshops
Rain World
Dusk
Dirt Rally

The only game that I'm always on the fence on whether I should have buy it or not is Borderlands 2

>Sneed game
>Chuck it afterwards

Attached: 1536060359595.gif (480x360, 356K)

Sekiro and Hitman. I pirate when I want to test if my machine can with the title but I seek to deliver a fair payment to a worthy product.

terraria

Last Steam sale with Metal Gear Rising Revengeance.

Truly a great game.

Attached: D4-nUeeUEAMqdzo.jpg (935x859, 126K)

Only 2 times in my life, first was Diablo 2+Exp back in 2001, Second was Kingdom Come Deliverance during last sale.

>pirate a game
>played it for 5 minutes
>the game oozes so much SOUL that makes you guilty by just staring at it
>bought it instantly afterwards
Fucking BallisticNG man

Exanima

Happened to me with Rain World. Bought it after one playing session, didn't regret it. Same with Factorio, rarely buy games at full price but this was completely worth it.

With La Mulana back in like 2012 or so, I don't pirate much and I buy even less because most of what I play is already free anyways

I can't remember pirating a game...

maybe like 10-15 years ago

Oblivion
Fallout 3
Fallout New Vegas

>Emily-sensei just befriends and recruits her mirror copies to her personal harem
I hope you anons are doing mirrors, this is the best shit

last time was shadow tactics: blades of the shogun
about 2 years ago when that released

I did the opposite with Darkwood, bought it, refunded it, then pirated it because it was too scary and I felt my money would be better spent on a game I think I could actually finish, so I pirated it instead and I was proven right, I couldn't finish it

did that for many games actually
>planet escape - the tournament
>skyrim
>pathologic
>kingdom come deliverance
>crusader kings
>witchers 1 and 2
>EYE
probably more, but these are ones i recall now

Beta Minecraft

>pirating games at all
Kill yourselves

How else will I know if I like a game? Journos, youtubbers, and reviewers usually don't even touch or describe the gameplay subject when talking about games, as they are all casuals.

I don't want to pay full price on a game just to play it for 15 minutes, going "meh", closing it and never touching it again. I would rather pirate than pissing of people using refund system.

Hollow Knight, Rain World, both Hotline Miami games, A Hat In Time, SOMA, Dark Souls.
I plan on doing it when Outer Wilds comes to Steam.

>Owned Killing Floor but none of my friends wanted to buy it
>Pirated a copy and distributed it at a LAN
>Every single person there bought a copy and eventually got KF2.

Rain World

I do it with every game that I pirate if I enjoy it. If I like it I stop halfway and uninstall then buy it at a later date.

Attached: AnnaMetro.gif (540x210, 2.51M)

Some games, like the Sims 4, are made for pirating though

Danganrompa 1
It’s just sitting in my steam library with 0 hours

Metal gear rising like a month ago

Cry more.

Attached: 402.jpg (703x516, 99K)

Mechanicus during the last sale

Attached: 1456444318811.jpg (220x230, 8K)

Also with Chrono Trigger DS and Cuphead

Attached: wewy7.jpg (500x704, 212K)

Downloaded DSII to check it worked properly in proton then bought it. 9€ is still 4 more than I paid for DSI back in the day, which I expect will remain the better game, but with how popular the series has become I don't think it'll be getting much lower any time soon.

Mordhau
I pirated to try the combat against bots to see if I'd like it.
When I liked it I bought the full game.

Not my fault if every game fucking sucks

Attached: pirata.png (2518x1024, 320K)

>Every Dark Souls game (bought for PC, "remastered" on Switch)
>Sonic Mania (bought for console)
>South Park: The Fractured But Whole (bought for Switch)
>BamHam City
>Xcom Enemy Unknown/Enemy Within

>Plan to buy FFXII for Switch
>Plan to buy SC6 when Denuvo is removed and the game is actually finished

I don't really pirate or play many new games in general.

>Playing games

Never, what kinda cuck would?

Baba Is You

>buying Crusader Kings
I hope you're at least playing with pirated DLC

Jurassic World: Evolution. I think. Because it had mixed reviews and was leery of the huge price tag for mixed reviews.

Thanks to Steam I do it all the time. I just buy them much later and on sale

i have literally never bought a game in my life

Attached: piracy.jpg (1847x383, 250K)

Koikatsu

I don't play video games, they are all shit, I come to shit on all of them

Attached: 1543611700597.jpg (788x685, 83K)

I only pirated Sekiro this year and I dropped after the first boss. My backlog is too big, so I don't bother with pirating unless I'm not sure about my purchase

>braid
>limbo
>portal

in like 2010

Payday 2 after they bundled all the dlc together

I do it to support the devs, not even lying.
Pirating is mostly for 2 things, trying out a game to see if it sucks, and playing games you don't want to/can't afford to buy.
Buying a game after pirating it is like a fisherman trying to not overfish a specific area. You COULD just empty every body of water and have a ton of fish for yourself but in the long run there won't be any fish left.
If you never support devs of games you like you might find that these devs need money to develope more games....

steam refund dummy

SNEEEEEEEEEED
SNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED

I did this for Darkest Dungeon and Fallout 3, that's the only times I've ever done it.

>Yea Forumsfags trying so hard to derail the thread

Attached: 1549036366415.jpg (473x500, 29K)

Kenshi, fuck the demo, too much a of a modfag to get an accurate gauge of the game without them. Gave it a couple weeks and grabbed it off GOG.

Other way around. I pirate drm free versions of my games after I buy them.

I did this with dragon dogma when it leaked on PC a week before launch, liked it so much I pre ordered

too retarded to figure out how to pirate, but I did manage to do it for undertale when it was released and later bought it during a sale just so my library didn't look so empty

Attached: D8CsClpU0AALDa2.jpg (639x655, 48K)

Literally today with SC6. I pirated it a few months back to see if it was good, it was, but way too expensive. So I waited until it went on sale, which it was today, and bought the deluxe edition for less than what the standard edition normally costs.

that shit is the best way to do demos, leak the full game a week or two beforehand

A month or so ago.

>Feed seed
>Fuck it aftersuck
Be formerly, when was the last time you feed the Sneed?

Mine craft beta, don’t remember how many years ago this was but it was right before beta came out.
My cousin gave me a flash drive with a pirated copy of MC and I bought the game a few weeks after.

Pirated Tales of Vesperia on PS3 and then later bought it because the pirated version was missing a certain trophy file to make the english patch not bug out.

wow user, the last time you did it you bought 6 games simultaneously? sugoi!!!

Attached: puff.jpg (408x491, 56K)

Terraria was the only time I can recall ever doing this.

You're a good man.

Attached: 1558836634991.jpg (452x544, 47K)

80% of my steam library. I rarely buy a game before trying it first.

>Chuck game
>Sneed it afterwards

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate / XX

Done this with metro 2033, Crysis 2, Fallout nv and resently with GTA 5

Never.

Slay the Spire, then I never played it again.

Would do it for Bloodstained if it wasn't 60$.

Bought HK on summer sale after finishing it pirated.

This too

Sekiro. It dropped a few hours before official release, and I bought it the next day

Sometime last year when Elex released.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Hotline Miami 1 and 2

fallout 4 for mods and because beth can't update their shit game without breaking it at the same time.
though i got it on sale for something like 7$

Darkest Dungeon and Hollow Knight

I think I pirated a game when I was around 13 *26 now* I can understand if you don't have the cash and you love playing games then great you do you, but I've never had a problem with money so I just purchase them all.

Attached: 1560300179530.png (345x554, 221K)

hypnospace outlaw

Attached: 1553168988321.gif (164x170, 130K)

Hyper light drifter. Assassins creed black. Flag. Unity and origins. Baba is you. Shovel knight. Ori and blind forest.

So you never buy bad games, or buy games and then regret it because you found out later that it was a pile of shit?

Megaman Starforce 3. Starforce 2 was so shit that I didn't want to risk it, but Starforce 3 was so good I felt compelled to buy it.

prison architect, my dumbass couldn't figure out how to build and thought it was some anti piracy measure

I bought Overload because I loved descent and I wanted to play multiplayer with my boys and support the devs. I probably sunk only a few hours into the pirated copy before I made them shut up and take my money.

Pokemon White, which was also the last time I pirated a new video game.

Warriors Orochi 4.
I loved the game and I wanted to try the multiplayer component.
Turns out no one was ever online. Oh well!

Warband. Eventually bought it because it was on sale

Ys 0, 1&2

Shovel Knight, but that was because Switch had nothing at launch

No Man's Sky. I was curious, 3 years later I heard the game improved a lot so bought it. Semi-regret it.

Hitman
Yakuza
Baba Is You
Overlord
Sniper Elite 2
Sleeping Dogs
Stanley Parable
Subnautica
Tropico
Dawn of War series
Witcher series
Deus Ex
Bioshock
Amnesia
Borderlands
Terraria
Starbound
Minecraft
Baldur's Gate, and all the classic RPGs
Fallout series
KOTOR
Total War Warhammer (waste considering the company is trashing itself)
DOOM
Half-Life
GTA 5
Metro series (another waste supporting, same reason)
Thief series
Divinity

Honestly surprising how many of them I ended up buying.

Like a month ago with Dark Souls III

a few during the steam sale. always pirate first and then buy if it was enjoyable, whether i've beaten it the game or not, good games/devs earned my money

Attached: 1552593486926.jpg (570x487, 45K)

Lobotomy Corporation in this year's summer sale, i did it a bunch of times before

yesterday with smash ultimate

Mighty Gunvolt Burst and Bloodstained COTM.

Attached: cotm portraits.png (210x64, 4K)

Minecraft, Rimworld, Starbound, Cities Skyline
Nearly every game I purchase is something I pirated previously

monster hunter world.

never but I did buy a copy of Cave Story for the Wii after playing the free PC version

Haven't really liked a game lately. I pirate only to check the game out. I spend no more than 10 minutes playing 90% of the games.

Civ5

Last month. Pirated Guacamelee and bought it shortly afterward.

Why would I ever do this? Stupidest shit I've heard in a while lmfao.

Attached: 8.jpg (300x300, 10K)

I buy them all bad or good I need to play them myself to get my opinion on it. I don't feel regret for anything no point for that emotion it doesn't do anything for me. If I don't like the game oh well I tried it time to move on.

Attached: 1563149731958.png (368x425, 249K)

Kingdom come
Steam summer sales

Koikatu Party

I did it for Risk of Rain.

Emulating the old Fire Emblems on PC is making me buy Three Houses in two weeks.

Persona 5, finished the game in RCPS3 and bought the steelbook bc it's way to beautiful.

Attached: persona-5-edicion-day-one-steelbook.jpg (2649x1795, 1.03M)

Telltales tales from the borderlands

EDF 5, Nioh

How the fuck was Hans Moleman eating already?

.Hack G.U. Last Recode

Played through 2 and 3 originally on PS2 but only owned Volume 2 so I bought it on sale for the sake of replaying them all and the new Volume.

>not donating the money to rpcs3 patreon instead
>giving money to Atlus who won't port to PC

I did it for far cry 3 and fallout new vegas.

Door Kickers, in 2015.

Only pirated three other games since then.

I blame Snoy for not being able to port persona games, I'm fucking sure Atlus would like milking more p5.

All the time. I collect PS2 and import Saturn but I'm not just going to plaster my shelf with shit games.

Terraria
Kerbal
Divinity: Original Sin
Factorio
Dying Light

Brought food to wait.

Rimworld

Like a month ago with Nier automata, regret it even
though it was like 9 euros

Yesterday, neptunia 4

Far Cry 3.

I did the reverse technically with Persona 3 & 4. I bought the PS2 digital versions on PSN and pirated the isos so I could emulate it on PC.

Stardew Valley. I pirated it when it came out, and then bought it this past steam sale

This except it didn't cost me a penny. I make it a point not to spend money on bad games.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker this sale.
This is something I really am doing.

I pirated Bayonetta and bought it later. I pirated Pathologic and then bought it this week. I pirated Enter the Gungeon and then bought it this week.

Yakuza 0 last month
had to replay the first 2 chapters cause im too lazy to find the local saves, game is good enough so it was worth replaying.

outer wilds
risk of rain
shovel knight
hollow knight
bloodstained
wayward
dark souls
terraria
minecraft
eagle island
20XX
many more. generally buy copies for me and friends but i like to vet the games i play because of shitass games like mighty negro 9 and other cuckstarter jizzasters. fuck buying before you play.

Bought kingmaker a week ago after playing a pirated copy for two weeks.

I do that all the time.

That's my entire steam library. Why tf would I buy a game if I haven't played some of it first?

Middle Earth: Shadow of War after they made all content accessible through the base game and none of that lootbox shit

a month ago. game was Oxygen Not Included.
i'd pirated it a while back when it was in alpha and early beta but by their April or May release they'd basically convinced me it wasnt just another early access vaporware release.
also by that stage I already had 100 hours in it so I was like fuck it, $20 is nothing.

>Skyrim
>Anno 2070
>Rimworld

mothergunship
quadrilateral cowboy
astroneer

I did it for Binding Of Issac.

it would've been blazing chome but there was a bug that prevents the unlockables from triggering and i wouldn't have known that until after the point of refunds.

recently, it was grim dawn, darkest dungeon and kenshi. i always buy games i like after trying them. i don't see any point in acquiring a bloated steam/humble library, half of which i will never play, just because i can. rather try before i buy as with many consumer purchases.
