>guaranteed to have the exploit patched out
enjoy your longer battery life with no hombrew at all
i can just upgrade lol
i feel like im in the best position to buy the revision
>didnt buy a switch at launch
>bought it when the games were actually coming out at a decent pace
>screen got fucked up before the game drought happened
>games are about to start coming out again
>buy revision with better battery life
>use old scuffed switch for homebrew
post yfw you didnt buy a Switch 0.5
Not worth upgrading, I'll just stick to the base model
Just get the Switch Lite lol?
Waiting 1 more year for prime 4 and trilogy, not giving Shittendo a dime before I see either.
>Still same plastic screen
When is Nintendo gonna invest on some scratch resistant gorilla glass shit?
I don't care about it still being 720p, just not a fucking plastic screen.
I'll wait for the Switch pro if Nintendo is revising things
switch lite has the same battery as old switch
No problem, have fun. I played way too much stuff in the past two years and a half to possibly care about a longer battery life.
I want a switch so bad but I can't justify spending over 400 dollars. I know the switch is only 300 but a game and a pro controller will probably add at least 100 dollars. Also why the fuck does nintendo NEVER lower the prices of their games?
>joycon drift still not fixed
Already 2 revisions, damn
thank god i only play handheld + grip on my hacked switch
There's been power banks on ebay with 10000 mAh made for the switch for years
Current switch battery is 4310 mAh, literally what is the point of buying this refresh shit
just hack it bro
You're still paying full price for bing bing wahoo games 2 years after release
Best part of the announcement is finally we get new colors.
it's using the newer tegra chip. once it's hack, we will be able to overclock it and make switch games play even better
No one cares about homebrew garbage
dont give a shit only play docked
next
Is it not just the case that Swtiches manufactured from this point onwards will have the better battery? If not, and it's a totally separate model, WHY?
I only play switch games when I’m near a dock/outlet (airplane rides, my apartment, friends’ places) so this makes little to no difference to me. I’m happy that the processor upgrade was there just for longer battery life.
oh man... that purple/orange is niiice, but I play with pro controller only cause the joycons are absolute trash garbage
>playing Switch docked
might as well just emulate on PC then
why is neon blue and neon orange not in the same package?
makes no sense
why doesn't Nintendo offer a service like Xbox where you can order custom controllers?
i want to make my own combinations without having to buy 80 dollar packs of joy cons
Nintendo hates money
console only version next year, I bet
same
this is not a new model, it will replace the older version
>Blue Toad and Yellow Toad
>Waluigi and Daisy
i believe they'll have to market it differently so it's made clear which is which in stores that still have stock for the old version
and yeah, allegedly, but so far what we know officialy is the better battery life is the sole improvement it will have
How do you have the balls to post a big brain image when you're planning to buy a second Switch and you fucked up your first one
>he thinks Nintendo cares about what their customers want
i feel like im in the best position to buy the revision
>have not bought a Switch
>want games that are coming out in the future
FTFY
i probably wont buy a new one. i can hardly even afford games atm anyways
>bought the original one just a month ago
>to play Splatoon 2
>to experience the final splatfest
>now they release this
Shit, maybe I should've ditched the splatfest shenanigan and just waited a little longer.
I just got a switch, but at least I got it from a local store having a sale. If I paid full price, I would be seething right now.
I'm gonna use my original for home only and lite for portability.
So no difference if I have a powerbank?
Well better battery means more time without the need of your power bank dummy.
just ordered them on Etsy, I got d pad modded joycons with clear shells
fukin sexy. hows the analog sticks so far
What's stopping me from just putting a better battery into the old witch myself and achieving the same result?
>Nintendo proceeds to ruin the appeal the Switch Lite in less than a month
>Switch Lite isn't even available for purchase yet
Neat.
The battery is said to be the same capacity, which means the chip is consuming a lot less energy. This might mean a better docked performance, and maybe more stable performance in handheld mode. They already did a software upgrade for the regular model to augment its power while loading.
it got a faster processor, the source is from my ass but also I think it would have less fps drops
The battery is the same it’s the SoC that is more efficient
Doesn't the new one come with another upgrade like clock speed and shit?
>he doesn't have his switch docked 24/7
Where is an actual source for this? I'm seeing nothing from Nintendo about it.
Damn they’re nice, I ordered new shells for my joycons but I’m too inept to take them apart without fear of fucking them up
THIS ISN'T FAIR I BOUGHT A SWITCH A FEW WEEKS AGO JUST FOR MARIO MAKER
nobody is buying the switch lite for better battery
It was tweeted from the JP twitter account which leads to their site.
it's japan only right now
Why Nintendo wont do this?
Are those power banks safe to use?
Thank you, anons.
>buy both
>use green and purple joycons
I barely use mine undocked.
So eh
iirc they did something like that in japan but the color choices were limited from what i remember.
Can someone tell me if hackers are perfecting a new exploit yet? They released the paperclip one 2 years ago for fuck's sake. I want to buy a switch knowing I'll be able to hack it, but until they say they have something, I can't be too careful I end up getting a model that won't allow it.
Upgrade has no rumble feedback. It's more like a fucking downgrade than an upgrade.
Your welcome annon
Enjoy your backlog
We all know you just want the purple/green combination for your daily dose
but blue and orange is clearly the gamers choice
i love the halloween joycons
You're going to put a screen protector on it anyway who cares
>bought it when the games were actually coming out at a decent pace
This never happened
Same reason they have a plastic screen - higher drop resistance
But where the fuck is the New Switch with actual hardware revision?
>if you hold these stick in your hand it feels like boobs jiggling!
Fuck off, lmao.
>E3, Nintendo says no new Switch
>Month after E3, announce everything to spite the leakers
KEK
>I want to buy a switch knowing I'll be able to hack it
then you better hurry up, this new model will replace the old one and i'm sure they will fix the exploit
are you talking about the switch lite user? cause this is just a revision of the original switch that will replace the regular switch on shelves and has better battery life.
you'd have to ask them directly and even then they might wanna keep it secret until they want to release it fully.
>The new model will go in sale in late August in Japan (via Nintendo.co.jp) and early September in Europe (via Nintendo.fr). A release date for North America has yet to be announced
Why do we have to wait more than Europe? Fucking chinks.
How many 'late' adopters are on suicide watch?
You know, those who've bought the original in 2019.
Should've waited a little longer.
probably next year when pokemon gun is released
The revised switches can be hacked?
The Gamers Choice.
this one straight up has actual hardware revisions, hell this thing might even be the "switch pro" all the places were reporting was coming, it would tie up the leaks since you have your smaller switch model and you have the hardware revised one as well.
Maybe in two or three more revisions, don't be so hasty.
No, it's only a longer battery life as of this moment because it's literally not announced officially.
>buy used switch off ebay
>buy this better battery model from walmart
>take both apart
>put the better battery in the hackable one
>return the non hackable pos with the shit battery
>get a better battery switch for 170$
Get nae nae'd
Have fun not being able to mod your Switch. Piracy and emulators are the only redeeming qualities.
Or you could just buy a power bank for 30-40 dollars.
If you'd been paying attention you'd notice the battery is the same, it's the more efficient cpu that allows for longer battery life, so you can't do that.
Get nae naed :^)
The new switch doesn't come with bigger battery idiot.
The new chipset got a die shrink process, hence lower wattage for the same processing power.
2/10
i swap the cpu then, eat shit sonybros
I actually never had any issues with joycon drift so perfect I guess. I'm also guessing the seller makes sure he doesnt sell any shitty joycons
my Etsy guy does installation if you mail him your joycons and the shell for a nominal fee. Just google etsy joycons
So are all those fags saying “this is a console! Nintendo’s never done a revision on a console before so this one won’t have one either,” hiding or are they pretending no one ever said that?
And what makes you think that would work at all?
cuz im gamer
>Been playing switch games for the last 2 years
Yeah you sure showed me. I sure wish I hadn't had all that fun.
I hope this isn't the "pro" if all that they did was give it a better battery.
>Implying you're buying this revision and not sitting on your hands until the New Nintendo Switch comes out
"Of course they did a revision just like i said, it's a portable after all"
It's for kids, plastics screens get scratched but at least they don't shatter. Just get a glass screen protector if it bothers you.
You're welcome. A damn shame you won't be able to play Splatoon 2 at its peak since you got it so damn late.
Actually it seems those in the states can get it from "mid-August 2019"
Swapping the whole board might actually work if all they changed is the chipset.
Might have to give up on the hackable part tho.
Thanks doc
Has other consoles fix the drift issue on their controllers yet?
Splatoon 2 will have more players thanks to the newly released consoles.
That's a plus for any long-time Splatoon players.
Wrong, it's longer than the base Switch, but not as long as this new version for some retarded reason.
I mean, no one ever said that. People have been talking about a Switch mini basically since the Switch came out.
They modified the motherboard, according to the FCC document. And it's probably different inside to handle the bigger battery.
Golly gee whiz, why the hack do my joycons keep drifting?
Like other anons are saying it's probably a new cpu instead of a bigger battery which would make the claims of a switch pro with a different cpu kind of fit the leaks that were being talked about before specially with the switch lite coming as well.
What's the point then? Lite will be release to make the switch what it was really meant to be, a portable device and not a pos sub-hd "home console".
I bet you still can hack it, but not on the same way.
It's quite hard to protect your chip with code when you're not even guaranteed the code will run whole.
Only 30 minutes, due the smaller screen. They are probably just getting rid of all the Tegra X1 Logan they got with the mini and using the Mariko's on the new Switch.
Should I buy one to get my daily dose?
Thanks for answering my question.
based retard
t. has absolutely no clue
please link
>screen protector
Gross
Have had a Switch for almost 2 years. The amount of time I've played in handheld mode is around 4 hours.
The Switch was meant to be both a home console and a portable, hence the name. The Mini is just a limited, handheld only version.
I agree, driftcucks are pretty retarded.
The graphite pads in the joysticks designed to fail. This is why.
If I sell my Switch for the new one, how do I de-activate it so I can re-download all my digital stuff on the new Switch?
I know if it's stolen you gotta call Nintendo.
But why wouldn't they use the new chip on the model that needs longer battery a fuck ton more than the version that you can just keep docked forever. Absolutely fucking brain dead.
Splatoon 2 is over user given the final splatfest is soon.
Ever heard of reset/low clock glitching?
The PS3 was absolutely unhackable, with the code offering perfect protection because you can "lock" the SPE in a way the code in it get unreadable.
But then people discovered you could fuck with the Cell clocks and make the instruction to lock the SPE not execute and got it.
double based retard
A switch is an ethernet device, the name makes no sense for a video game device.
To get rid of what the already got, smartass. The Mini is meant to be a cheap console.
You actually have no clue and by the looks of it also doesn't know how the Switch was hacked in the first place. Stop shitposting.
SWITCH LIGHT DEAD ON ARRIVAL
The Lite is also $100 cheaper, making it a good choice for people that worry about their finances.
I know right? How much of a retard do you have to be to ruin your controllers?
Who cares about new colors as long as stick drift is still a rampant and inevitable problem?
based retard
>graphite
>why doesn't Nintendo offer a service like Xbox where you can order custom controllers?
Brand recognition
>Brand recognition is the extent to which the general public (or an organization's target market) can identify a brand by its attributes. Brand recognition, also known as "aided brand recall," is most successful when people can state a brand without being explicitly exposed to the company's name, but rather through visual or auditory signifiers like logos, slogans, packaging, colors or jingles as seen in advertising
triple based retard
And how does this relate with the Switch? Are you retarded or just pretending?
WHERE IS MY SWITCH PRO YOU DOG EATING FUCKS? MAKE IT THE SIZE OF A 2080TI CARD AND GIVE ME 1080P 60 FPS YOU DOG EATING FUCKS
I'm da jokah baybee
Still no d-pad
This.
Lite only exist for block Homebrew attacks with the paperclip
>over
I highly doubt it.
Just look at Wii U's Splatoon playerbase. They're still active.
They already sell docks separately, what if they offer the new model with or without the accessories? I could just reuse my dock
but the stopped the paperclip exploit in new switches like a year ago
is it even a real dpad or just the dpad cross shell over the buttons?
too bad they are the worst controller made by nintendo
The new switch has a new chip that is most likely immune to the previous way of cracking it.
But people can fuck around with it and find ANOTHER way in.
That's all i meant.
Even if it the latter it probably doesn't feel bad. The DSi had actual buttons bellow the dpad and it was great.
g00s3yelectronics
NES "Dogbone" controller and N64 controllers still exist, but I'd say Joy-cons are the third worst.
Even current Switch models are immune to the RCM exploit since they patched it, of course the new one will be patched as well and of course someone can still find another way to hack it.
So should I buy one now or wait for this fucking thing to release?
Buy a hackable model now if you want to pirate (not every single model available is hackable tho), wait if you want a better console overall.
>should I buy one now or wait a month for a superior version for the same price
Apparently but we won't know for sure. If it does then I hope it's a vast improvement.
>all of these retards not bothering to click the link
its fake you faggots
If you don't intend to hack it then there's literally no reason to not wait for this new one that's coming out next fucking month. Are you retarded or something?
>dark blue ones
Nice. But will the be a pair with both of them being the same color? I don't want that shity neon one
oops forgot my selfie, sorry guys
>he saves wojacks and saves them to his computer
cope
Sounds more like an internal revision than something more severe like the Switch Lite is
If it's using a Tegra X1 revision it can probably clock higher since it'll use less power and generate less heat overall, but Nintendo is going for battery life, so it'll probably be the same thing. Maybe it will clock higher when docked, but who knows.
I don't think so, I just wanted to play some games
guess I'll wait then
gracias doctor
>no official announcement
how does it feel being autistic?
model 2 fags on absolute suicide watch lmao
>can't homebrew like early adoption Chads
>half the battery life of patient buyer Chads
When should I trade in my current Switch to avoid the inevitable price cut to trade-ins/reselling? GameStop currently offers $225, but I can imagine reselling it for about $250 on OfferUp or Craigslist.
>Nintendo’s never done a revision on a console before
Toploader NES
SNES Jr
Pikachu N64
Wii Mini
I don't know if people actually said that or you're just lying out your ass but they have done plenty of home console revisions, and this isn't even counting the ones with board revisions of which there's nearly a dozen.
seeth
Its a non-issue. Only time I ever need it to last longer than 3 hours is on a Flight and now they have USB charging in the seats it's irrelevant.
dilate
I just bought a switch last week for full price. I'm seething beyond limits
Never sell your shit to GameStop
pikachu n64?
have sex
If it's hackable, just sell it. People will buy in a heartbeat.
This, I'm keeping my og switch since it hasn't yet failed me but there is no way in hell I'm buying the new ones without confirmation they fixed their shit, I can always wait for the 3DS equivalent to come out.
For fear of them undercutting me like penny-pinching Jews, or to not support them?
Tell that to my Dualshock 3 that still work flawless. These are fine.
>not hackable
enjoy not being able to steal games buycuck
>underpowered
>gimmick
>supposedly a handheld but too large and performs better docked
>dock scratches screen
>cheap, flimsy joycons
>library consisting of rehashes, shovelware, the worst versions of multiplats and kiddie games.
>insufferable, delusional community
>manchildren love it
>system of choice for trannies and the morbidly obese.
>smash tournaments known for being comprised of people with no concept of personal hygiene
>an embarrassment to be seen playing in public
>horrible online, overpriced.
>console is overpriced, very low value in general
>often referred to as several derogatory names, some examples include “cucktendo shitch” or just “shitch”, “Fischer price tablet” or more rarely the “NINtENDO SWItCH” (the lowercase t’s representing the low testosterone of the typical Nintendo console owner)
I could go on but I think we’ve all seen enough to agree that owning a Nintendo Switch is undesirable.
They always buy shit way lower the market price. They need to resell them after all.
user did buy a switch, he just fucked up the screen and wants a non-scuffed switch to play future games while having the scuffed one for homebrew
Better battery life means Netflix switch app soon, we all know that there isn't one currently because you wouldn't be able to watch a movie from start to finish on its current shitty battery life.
what the fuck? im actually so pissed right now. nintendo screwed over their real fans!
>just got one for my birthday like a month ago
Whatever, if it's just a battery life extension, I don't give a shit since most of the time it's on the dock.
Is this a placebo, doc? Where’s the good stuff?

If you don't care about stealing why not just steal someone's wallet?
I never play in handheld mode so i don't care
Their consoles generally don't have any full product iterations, I think the Wi is the only one I can think of and wasn't that after its life cycle
brainlet here, does that means they updated the cpu and flash memory?
>tfw I use a pro controller
Heh nothing personal
yes
>he doesn't play handheld and chill around his house or at his pc or at work
Nonsense, nothing is stopping people from watching movies docked. And the Switch minimum battery life is 3 hours, on a demanding game. It probably lasts twice on an app.
The Switch is both a console and a handheld, so who knows. I personally think there will be more revisions.
LMAO BETA TESTERS BTFOOOOOO
cant wait to buy the games at half price too XD
>purple left
>green right
It's time
There was the "family edition" with a very slightly different design and lack of GameCube ports and then the Wii Mini
How do I serial snipe in stores?
Do I just flat out ask for all the Switches they have in stock or do I need to be more subtle about it?
I was thinking of the mini, I maybe knew about the family edition at one point but forgot about it.
Is this the switch pro people were talking about?
This is it you absolute moron. Mariko is the "new" SoC
What the fuck? These ones are the opposite in Europe.
If they were made the same decade, or even worked the same mechanically, you might have a point.
Do you mean looking for unpatched units? You'd be very lucky to find one in regular retail unless it's somewhere with absolutely terrible stock turnover, they should have been cycled out ages ago.
If you mean the new battery improvement it should be a new box design
But just ask and be honest, retail slaves seriously don't give a shit.
Both. You can always get more by selling it yourself and you avoid supporting them.
No.
>retail slaves seriously don't give a shit.
That's exactly my point, to them a Switch is a Switch and they're not going to burn through their entire stock for one old serial number.
I bought a used Switch for 220€ off amazon a few days ago, i have one month to return it and do have valid reasons to do so (drifting joysticks).
Would it be a good idea to wait one month, return it at the last time and then buy a new one? Is it likely the older Switch model drops in price before this revision releases?
I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case since rumor details on the Switch pro were always murkier than the Lite.
Still waiting for the pro so games like Daemon x Machina don't run like garbage. Would lap this shit up if Pokemon didn't announce it's death.
>thanks for beta testing
Ah finally, which games will there be on launch?
Is the 1st model Switch even worth it if the 3rd model Switch has better battery life and slightly better performance?
All Nintendo consoles and handhelds are bound to get hacked, the 3DS and Wii were the same.
It's the same one but smaller so less heat and power.
So Switch Pro doesn't exist then right? This is it?
It doesn't even have a new name it's just "some switches will have better battery life than others"
No, Switch Pro for next year
This Switch is to phase out Year 1 and 2 owners
If you don't already have a hackable model or a way to get one, probably better to go ahead with the new model.
>s it likely the older Switch model drops in price before this revision releases?
This is just a replacement, so by retail standards it's the exact same product.
speak for yourself. the appeal has not been ruined for me
Pro might exist 2 years down the line but definitely not anytime soon. The Lite serves a purpose in attracting people with limited budget and wanting a dedicated handheld device, the Pro would just cannibalize the sales from their base Switch market. Sales has to be bad for them to consider a Pro.
The revision isn't too big, so you're fine
still your fault tho. there were rumors that a revision was coming
While I'm digging the purple/orange, joy-cons are the worst controller that has ever been created and whoever designed them doesn't deserve to have hands.
Not that user, but it's been 2+ years. You have to be blind and deaf to not realize a revision was coming soon.
>the “NINtENDO SWItCH” (the lowercase t’s representing the low testosterone of the typical Nintendo console owner)
You've been posting on Yea Forums too much. get some fresh air.
Yes. It is the allotrope of carbon formally known as graphite.
True enough, but this isn't even a real revision, it's just a new model for the base console.
user why did you break out the "dilate" insult so early?
thanks doc
no retarded joycons, feels more like a vita
You don't get it. Every console has their drifting issues but joycons drift so fucking easily that it's not even funny
Realistically what will the Switch Pro be like?
the lite is using the same chip. it's much more effcient
they did. the switch lite has a smaller battery
You're probably better off getting a hackable Switch if you still can than you are with one of these new ones if battery life is the only improvement. This new one will most certainly be patched and the old way of hacking won't work. If you really need more battery life you can buy a power bank or some shit, since the Switch charges over USB anyway.
yuzu isn't far enough along yet, it's still very early. Most games aren't playable on yuzu just yet and I'm pretty sure it'll still take years until it reaches general-purpose stability and usability.
It's gonna be the new 3DS all over again. Slightly better specs that like 3 games take advantage of.
>screen is still not fucking glass
how are they getting away with this
Danke, Doktor.
Probably because they think it's better for it to get scratched up by clumsy kids than to shatter. Also cheaper.
n64 was the best nintendo controller
have had this bad boys since splatoon 2 came out
still works like a charm
>niggers cant take care of their stuff because ape hands
picture me surprised
>I-i like my prototype model, cause I can play shitty fanmade games on it
maximum cope
It's not a matter of just taking care of your stuff, all joycons will get drift eventually.
show me footage of xenoblade 2 running on yuzu as good as BOTW on Cemu at 1440p
>inb4 that game is bad XD
user, installing homebrew is the first step to pirating the whole damn library and never paying for a game.
joycons are instantly recognizable by shape alone
if brand recognition was a problem the pro controller wouldn't look like an xbox controller from a distance
Fucking this, trying to play breath of wild is annoying as fucking hell currently when I've stopped moving the left stick and link keeps moving, shit is fucking annoying, between the analog drifting and the joycons randomly disconnecting, I'm not sure which is more irritating.
real switch pro is years away
if you take care of your stuff you can prevent them from drifting so quickly, like i said i've had those for around 2 years and still no issues
also why is it so hard for people to just change the stick mechanism instead of complaining how they now have to buy another 70$ pair just to get a working left joycon
the switch pro will be hacked eventually
>underpowered
it's perfectly fine for a handheld, dock mode is just the cherry on top
>gimmick
subjective statement, switching from handheld to docked is freedom of choice which competition doesn't offer
>supposedly a handheld but too large and performs better docked
you've never held one in your hands. it's about as uncomfortable to hold in your hands for longer periods of time as any flagship phone these days
>cheap, flimsy joycons
i dont use joycons often, only pro controller, but if i do, they're not an issue though i'll accept this point as the first real objective issue with the switch (counter: 1)
>library consisting of rehashes, shovelware, the worst versions of multiplats and kiddie games.
absolutely subjective. almost nobody had the wii u so rehashes affect barely anyone. "worst version of multiplats" on a handheld device just shows how little you understand what the switch is supposed to be
>insufferable, delusional community
subjective filter bubble nonsense which even if that's your opinion, you don't need to engage in the community
>manchildren love it
meme
>system of choice for trannies and the morbidly obese.
meme
>smash tournaments known for being comprised of people with no concept of personal hygiene
has nothing to do with the system or the vast majority of users
>an embarrassment to be seen playing in public
if you're embarrassed to be seen with a toy in public, you're probably also embarrassed to be seen holding your phone sideways to play a game or watch a video. subjective thing and mostly a problem of your own lack of self-esteem
>horrible online, overpriced.
half a point, online is indeed horrible. however, compared to the competition, it's a fair price (count: 1,5)
>overpriced, very low value in general
subjective, looking at all your above points this is obviously the logical conclusion FOR YOU, but it may not be for others. i hacked mine and haven't bought a game in 1.5 years
comment is too long, tl;dr: your opinion
Thanks doc
Why is it hard for you to understand that sometimes things just break from wear no matter how delicately you take care of it?
I've been using my vita sticks for 5 years. still work great
Seething. Also way to duck the meat of his post. Low T confirmed lmao
Can someone explain the image that keeps going around, what exactly is causing the drift?
I just want to hack a Switch but only ancient Year 1 Switches from 5 years ago are hackable and they cost $500 because of scalpers...
I'm gonna buy a switch but I'm a little pissed I'm gonna have to shell out extra money to have proper D-pad on a joycon as well as extra money on a pro controller for when I don't play it on handheld mode.
Why the fuck do I have to pay extra money for this shit
>muh battery
Implying you'll go further than half a foot away from a plug socket. Enjoy your smaller screen, bitch.
just get a lite. remove all jewry
Congratulations. I've got these chopsticks for 8 years now and they're great.
It's the exact same as the base model, retard. Because it is the base model but with better battery life.
the mechanism you have to change is literally 10$ and comes with a tri-wing
retards just wont admit they act like fucking apes with their stuff, same shit happened with smash on 3DS and everyone straight up breaking the circle pad and blaming nintendo for it
i still have my 3DS from those days working perfectly
But I want to play Astral Chain on my TV
Pro won't be out for two years anonkun.
wrong. the new switch and lite are using a new SOC
My point still stands. People can harp on about better battery life but it means nothing is those same people aren't going to go more than a foot away from a plug socket because they never leave their house.
But the externals (including the screen, which is what that post was a response to) are the same on this new model.
then wait for the console only switch
This.
What the fuck took them so long? Joycon colors were supposed to be the new backplates and limited editions.
I’ll wait for report on stick drift and them jump on them.
Hopefully Nintendo's not stupid enough to remove the tv mode in the software side.
>switch thread
>pirate fags chime in to brag about using trany software to emulate old shit
>muh free games
>muh paying for online
post YFW you have enough money to afford your hobby and you're not a miserable poorfags using mental gymnastics to justify piracy and their acts
Using a new SOC only matters in terms of the practical improvements it brings. In this case it seems like the only improvement is going to be battery life. It doesn't seem like the model will do anything else worthwhile.
This is the exact same Switch as we've always had, just with slightly tweaked internals. Removing TV mode is not on the table here.
there will be more stable performance in games with variable resolutions
nintendo being jews.
Sure, maybe, but you can already get that with a slight OC on current hackable models. It's not a very big deal or something to get excited about. Now if this shit were able to play the games in 60FPS or 1080p (in docked mode), that would be something, but it won't happen.
I have one closed in box that I won't sell for less than 800 bucks. Not my fault you didn't take advantage of a money making opportunity.
Model and board revision just so they could slap Pikachu's fatass onto the N64, cheeks light up when powered on.
It is though.
I can make the "upgrade", but the question is do they have one without the dock?
Just get a Switch lite then.
Only for Japan you stupid whatio piggu. YOU BUY FULL PACKAGE!
>got OG switch for christmas
>finish BotW, have my fill of fun with Smash and Mario Kart
>give switch to brother, he becomes obsessed with it
>want it back now that a few new games are coming out this year, but want him to still have one
>dont wanna get shitty handheld only version
bueno
No problem man, glad I could help. Hope you enjoy your Switch
These new Switches have the Exploit removed as well user.
Shit you haven't been able to buy a new one that has the exploit in a long time.
new 3DS had a bigger upgrade than the PS4 Pro
Nintendo has done revisions on multiple consoles, but you pay attention it's only on the ones that were big hits.
N64, Gamecube and Wii U? Never touched.
Does he want a lite by any chance? You could always frame it as a "upgrade" and get him to swap.
I have the regular one already and there are games I just prefer playing docked, like Xenoblade and Splatoon.
Eh, the 64 lost any chance of an upgrade when the disk drive add-on flopped in Japan.
Not him but when people say revision they usually mean pro style.
Add a proper D-Pad.
Well, then you can probably sell your current one for like 250 on Craigslist/ebay or even take Gamestop's shitty offer of 200 and then upgrade for 50-100 dollars rather shell out the full 300 again if you care that much.
BOQUITA PAPAAAAAAHHHH
[Muffled Bombonera noises in the distance]
>Using handheld mode
Using joycons
>they usually mean pro style.
Which consoles before the PS4 and Xbone had Pro Style upgrades?
shARks
He plays it docked 90% of the time, and I know he enjoys that better so I'd rather him keep the OG one I have and I can wait on either this better battery model (since I like playing my switch in handheld every once in a while but still prefer it docked) or hold out for some kinda pro model within the next year or so
I've personally never had any issues with stick drifting... Maybe because I take care of my Switch?
Why does the switch still have a plastic screen, I never shatter my screens but I do scratch them and screen protectors are always shit.
Well I have played thousands of dollars worth of games completely free. I definitely cared about that feature of Homebrew lmao
I've had my Switch since Launch, kept it docked the majority of the time and only used my Pro Controller.
I let my friend use them for Smash earlier this year and before he even got to play one match he noticed the drifiting.
The shit's flimsy user, I like the Switch but it's stupid how fragile they seem to be.
Are you a child?
You've delayed the inevitable, congrats.
>when people say revision they usually mean pro style
No they fucking don't, they just mean any sort of update to a system that they can visually see usually on the unit itself. Even a change from IPS to TN panel display or whatever.
The issue is so widespread that you simply taking care of your switch is irrelevant.
>Worrying about battery life
Only losers use their Switch as a handheld
>Defending Nintendo using plastic for their screens and charging premium
Based retard.
If it was glass you'd bitch about how delicate the screen is after you've dropped it, being the spastic loser you are. Plastic screens are fine.
>Still defending Nintendo using cheaper materials while charging premium
Too based
What premium?
>3 years of fun
>hackable
>y-yeah t--thanks for b-b-beta testing
roflmao
Gracias doctor
Because shattering is worse you colossal moron
We agree. Drift mongoloids are that much.
So instead we have a screen that's mandatory to buy a screen protector for otherwise even the dock itself would scratch it
>inb4 it didn't happen to me so its not real.
>available at the same price
sounds like bullshit.
Have fun shattering the screen from a single bump
Based retard
technology becomes cheaper as time passes by
Yeah that's why everybody is walking around with a shattered screen phone
Oh no, its actually just the retards who drop them.
So if you never used your joycons, does that mean you also never cleaned them?
Thanks doc
This. It's been 2 whole years already.
I mean, a recent survey had shown 1 out of 4 people had broken the screen on their iPhone, so while not everyone, it's still a pretty high number.
It's a $300 piece of electronic. It's not cheap. Why wouldn't you want to do something to mitigate any sort of damage to it?
And that's not taking into account the fact the Switch has a large number of children using it.
inb4 this is what the rumored Switch pro was. If we do actually get a more powerful switch, it won't be for another 3-4 years.
>battery life
Who cares? It plays like shit undocked.
It never leaves the dock.
Eh, if you don't already have one, it can't hurt. It's not like they're charging 350 for the Switch+ or anything, it's just an improvement to the base model.
this triggers me
WAH! I have to buy a $5 screen protector to protect my $300 piece of technology. It's so unfair they should make it $350 but I'll still have to buy one anyway.
The Lite is clearly made for kids.
No fancy joycons that get easily fucked, $100 less.
This. The fact it's 100 bucks less is the main draw of the thing, not any marginal battery improvements. It's also good for people that just want to play Pokemon but don't want to drop the full 300 bucks for one game.
>By the time it comes out it'll be 4 years since the first Switch was released
>will still have money to buy it
> in the meantime OP has still has no games to play
At least you get to act smug on a mongolian basket weaving forum.
They'll eventually pirate it
>sell my unpatched hackable switch at a premium on ebay and buy the revision since I never use homebrew
or
>wait for switch pro
wat do
>gorilla glass
seriously, why do people on this board shill for that shitty glass? Do they really pay you that much? I've never heard of a gorilla shattering its bones after dropping only a couple feet.
>site i have literally never heard of before
>"it WILL be announced"
>has not actually been announced
okay so more rumor bullshit.
I get 6 hours no matter which games I play. Plenty long enough for me, I doubt I’ll ever be away from an outlet for that long, and even then there are battery packs.
>he didn’t buy a pro controller
The build quality is amazing you’re missing out
Nah, it's already confirmed officially, user.
nintendo.com
The revision still isn't a pro version, but just slightly longer battery life. Plus, you niggers were totally off the mark. You said a Pro revision would be released twp years after the original Switch and that never happened. Don't act smug when you were wrong on multiple accounts.
Based retard
>muh shitty hentai games
Uninstall your life
What part of most people install homebrew to pirate games do you guys not get?
>being so poor you have to resort to stealing games
Again, uninstall your life

>pretending getting the whole damn library for free isn't a nice perk
t.assblasted corporate slave
I'm glad I waited.
Does the Smash Ultimate bundle Switch has better battery life than a regular Switch or something? Cause that's the one I have and I don't really get this shit batter life meme.
It lasts longer than my phone when playing games nonstop.
People aren't comparing it to a phone is the thing. Until the 3DS, Nintendo stuff had goodass battery life and then it went to shit.
09-12-2018
It's almost as if batteries aren't magic and everyone runs into the same issues. If Nintendo could get GBA battery life on Switch-level hardware they would stop making video games and make billions selling batteries to Apple and Samsung.
No, it's a revision coming out next month.
The Switch doesn't cost $1,000 so any comparison between the two is just stupid.
What's the point when it cant be used in tv mode
Forget billions, they would instantly become a trillion dollar company as almost any product that isn't connected to an electrical outlet would want that super magical battery technology.
>bought it when the games were actually coming out at a decent pace
Hello time traveler.
>waaah why do things cost money
t. braindead communist cucklord
I never take the thing out of the dock so what does it matter?
Model number: HAC-001(-01)
(product serial number begins with “XKW”)
Approximately 4.5 - 9 hours
NINTENDO WON
Aside from a longer battery nothing is different.
>early adopters
Yeah those are the Switches that you can hack.
The metal contacts that the joystick controls scuff up those black pads on the chip. which results in the metal contacts sitting in the crated grooves which makes the controller think you are giving it input constantly when its at rest.
Well, you have to suffer the real consequences of being a lowlife. So, enjoy that I guess.
It's for late adopters and allows them to sell the leftover older versions at a discounted price/bundle.
I bought an extension cable as soon as I found out how shit the battery life is so I am set. I never really play my Switch outside my home and away from an outlet.
>no homebrew
they said this about vita too. It'll happen. Probably sooner because people give a shit about hacking the switch, rather than just the nerds on wololo.
The metal contacts that scratch on the graphite pads change the position depending of the stick position. The current position of the stick can be measured with contacts by measureing the resistance which value changes by moving the stick. The problem it that by scratching on the graphit you slowly increase the resistance because the diameter of the material decreases. This means that a wrong position is measured because now the middle position has a wrong resistance which results in drifting.
If I can find an unpatched Switch, should I get that or should I opt in with this new model with better batteries?
>people who throw away money are the cucks
Do you care about hacking it RIGHT NOW? Do you need it to be hacked as soon as you get it so you can emulate or pirate or whatever? If not, just get the new model. Anyone thinking there won't eventually be a way to break into the newer models is just silly. Every system worth hacking has had hacks developed for it to some degree. Even the fucking xbone.
How important is being able to pirate things right now to you? Although you probably will not be able to find an unpatched Switch at this point unless you know a middle of nowhere store with ancient stock or something.
>more flash memory
pls gib
just like 64gb would be nice
Tryst me, the button "D-Pad" works just fine, at least try playing with those before shelling out for a new joycon.
Gameboy
There's only like 3 actual games though, what other actual games are there?
Breath of the Wild
MH XX PORT
Pokemon Sword and Shit
What else is there? Also should I get a Wii and Wiii U? I missed out
>Taking rumors as concrete fact and not as half truths
Why would you get a Wii and a Wii U? Wii U is perfectly backwards compatible and a lot of the best Wii U games have ported to the Switch anyway.
I wanted to pirate on Wii
Appreciate it. If i understand correctly, that means that recalibration can fix it?
I thought it was dust getting trapped, which seemed fixable by electrical contact cleaner or silicone lubricant. Are both things causing drift for different people so different solution for the different problem?
THANKS FOR BETA TESTING YOU KEKS
I just had to wait 2 years
But I had my system hacked long ago and got to play every game for free already.
I only played in docked mode anyway.
>paying for something enjoyable that cost money to create is throwing away money
Fuck
Wait, if this new switch gets it's big battery improvements from a more efficient processor, then if the lite is using the same improved processor, just how shitty is the lite's battery capacity compared to the OG?
>lighter
>smaller/better ergonomics
>comfy small
>sharper ppi
>kino colors
>d-pad by default
>portable only
>smaller screen
>720p only
Why would I want that?
yes and? I don’t sit anywhere to watch TV, I only ever sit I front of my computer
Why would you want a 4K or 8K handheld??
Well shit. I was leaning towards getting a Lite since I'd probably mostly use it handheld, but the battery life on this is quite a bit better. Plus they haven't confirmed if they're going to make a new dock for the Lite at a later date so that one would be handheld only.
Ideally I'd like a Lite with a dock but I guess I'll wait for hands on impressions now.
>longer battery life
is that it? I was hoping for a more powerful one. Guess I'll pick it up and sell my old one I guess but I don't see any big reasons.
Maybe it comes with small changes like it won't scratch itself when being docked and the joy cons don't drift anymore.
>they said this about vita too
and it took years before exploits requiring certain version vitas were found and until recently to find one that worked on all versions only after sony considered the thing dead. The only advantage given by the switch is the fact that the exploit existing means people are already creating software for it meaning when it eventually gets hacked you'll start from a place where you already have worked on emulators and shit.
>pirate Wii and GC games and play them at a normal resolution with native controller support
>use Wii U for Wii U shit
>scratch itself
Christ, are you slamming it into the dock? How did you do that?
FCC filing also said there was a nand change so it's probably 64GB built in now too.
what is it with Nintendo fans and their hate-boner for piracy?
My Switch still has terrible wifi issues. Is this normal or is my Switch just fucked?
best girl
shit anime adaptation
The only reason the Vita was hack was LITERALLY due to corporate espionage finding the security keys and leaking them.
It’s normal
Switch has a pretty cheap wifi card, even an iPod touch from 2009 has a better wifi card than the Switch does.
"Lowlife" is not very insulting coming from a Neet Nintendie.
2 and a half years after release is way past early adopter phase
oh wait this is a joke to get people posting
>it took years
vita was hacked within a month of it's release, we got userland. Took maybe a year to get full kernel access. Exploits kept getting shut down as they were found, but they were found. Switch will be the same way. If you want some end all be all hack, sure, you'll be waiting till the switch is dead entirely.
not sure what software has to do with it, psv had a built in psp emulator with everything that confers, including the decade+ of homebrew it had.
i have never used my switch out of the dock, don't plan to either
>Why would you want a 4K or 8K handheld??
Yeah, why would I?
Fuck I was going to pick one next week. Guess ill wait for this revision then.
>The battery of the new model number HAC-001(-01) will last approximately 4.5 – 9 hours, depending on the games you play. For instance, the battery will last approximately 5.5 hours for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Doesn't sound particularly great.
>For comparison, the existing model has a battery life of approximately 2.5 to 6.5 hours, with approximately lasting 3 hours for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
That's pathetic.
Is this revision even worth 300 bucks? I wouldn't buy a Switch for even 250. This one will definitely only be available at full price.
No, and yes this is a 'full' switch for $300, the lite supposedly has slightly better battery life for $200.
That's pretty rancid of them, but hey I've got a hackable one.
Merci doc.
>purple
that's fucking pink, dipshit.
I think he's implying you take the purple left joycon from
This is cool I guess, but I still don't see myself buying another unless they make a Switch Pro.
Tough I wouldn't say no to another dock and another pair of Joycons.
>another pair of Joycons.
I wonder if the new pairs are fixed on the analogues.
Hopefully they are. I am really in love with the format. One controller in each hand is amazing for comfort.
Wow, such innovation...
Yup, it's like a functional Wii. Jesus, I wish the Switch wasn't gifted to me in hindsight.
based idiot can't into learning by reading
>the original switch will be remembered as a clunky, drifting piece of shit, with no battery life.
(OP)
So is it gonna have a name to differentiate it from the base and lite models? It needs one, something other than a red box. Also, why doesn't the lite have the same battery life?
It's not the battery that is better, it's the new chip that manages the battery better.
I don't really see the appeal for using the Switch in handheld for hours at a time. I'll undock it for an hour or two while lounging around the house but if I go outside my 3DS or Vita are much more likely to me than my Switch to be taken with me.
But did they even fix the joycon drift for the newer model?
>Literally a small battery upgrade
>tfw dont play in portable because not a loser
>tfw the Switch will continue to have a shit performance library with res scaling
Why?
Lite is using a smaller capacity battery.
It's honestly pretty easy, just watch a video tutorial and take your time. Make sure you have the correct tools as well beforehand.
thnx doc
>vita was hacked within a month of it's release, we got userland.
I should have specified that i'm talking about hacking to a degree where the common user gets use out of it and not just being able to get behind the scenes on the console since obviously this is what most people care about when it comes to hacking a console
>Exploits kept getting shut down as they were found, but they were found.
and what use did this have for some random user trying to hack their vita?
> Switch will be the same way.
and again what good would this cat and mouse game be to some random user trying to hack one of the newer switches?
not sure what software has to do with it, psv had a built in psp emulator with everything that confers, including the decade+ of homebrew it had.
softwarre that didn't take advantage of the vitas jump in power. psp was limited to around snes in terms of being able to emulate at full speed, the vita could obviously do this but not when it has to rely on software created with the psps limitations in mind.
Finally I can buy a Switch
You and all the other pirates act like the new revision wont also eventually get hacked through another method
Where are you going that a bit better battery life is the deciding factor?
Sure it probably will but who knows how long that will take?
I'll probably buy the new Switch model and just hack my launch model for single player games.
Keyword eventually, could be years before they find another exploit and even then it might end up tied to firmware versions. The paperclip exploit was a gift from god.
You should wait for decidedly fixed joycons. They're the defining flaw of the console.
>That feel when not a Model 2 cuck
They have got to have fixed that now, right? I mean just imagine what a disaster it would be if the Lite systems still had that flaw. Where you can't even get new joycons or easily take them apart for fixes.
I got gifted the Switch 1 year into its lifetime and I got the drifts on both joycons. I don't know if it's fixed by now. They'd be fucking insane to use the same system on lite systems though, they'd have to waste millions of dollars on warranty repairs.
Technically the scraping of the graphite pads does create debris which electrical contact cleaner would help get rid off, but the scratches are still a problem and recalibration would not fix it.
This is high quality bait, did you make this one or just find it somewhere?
Good thing I don't have enough of a life to need a switch lasting longer to take on the go haha
Hacked mine. Not sure if you guys will be able to hack yours and buy the overpriced nintendo games. Even indies are overpriced as fuck.
thanks doc
youtube.com
Then the dock would scratch the actual screen instead of just the bezel
My green left joycon has an issue where I hold a direction and the input slowly drags until it reaches it's mark. Calibrating won't fix it...
If you have warranty deliver it to Nintendo asap?
I don't. Gotta get a new one.
test asap
Check out tutorials to see if you can replace the materials.
Seething buyfags
COPE
Seething Buyfag AHAHAHAHA
Literally bought one a month ago but I don't give a shit about battery life so I'm coping pretty well
>playing undocked
Please stop bing bing wahooing in public.
Alright thanks
>but not as long as this new version for some retarded reason.
OG Switch is 50% battery under the hood. Lite being physically smaller hampers the raw battery capacity.
When did Klonoa come out on Switch?
How will I know if I'm getting the new or old model when I go buy one at the store? This is exactly what I have been waiting for to buy a Switch.
what anime so i can read the mango?
Retard
The new box is red, the old one is white I think.
HIROSHIMOOOOOOOOOOOOOT
If the new chip is more power efficient, I'm assuming it runs cooler, as well? That's another bonus for the newer model, I guess.
