Has any other series been ruined badly by a single entry?
Has any other series been ruined badly by a single entry?
Marvel vs Capcom
Thief
fucking christ am I still mad about this shit
Would andromeda be the heat of the death of the universe?
By the time Andromeda came out most people were already numb to the pain, I think.
After the incredible 'Japan Time' experiences with Yea Forums, coasting into the excruciating delays and finally an explosive fatal crash of realization that the gameplay was a gigantic crybaby middle finger from Sakurai telling everyone who liked the last two entries to FUCK OFF, this piece of shit brutally executed my interest in Smash games and permanently damaged my ability to get excited/hyped for new releases. I have literally never been the same since this fucking thing.
I will never be not angry
I WILL NEVER FORGIVE
Here you go bro.
lil' zooms wouldn't know.
Halo 4
Is the implication that its the only good one?
Because I might agree, not counting 1942/Vietnam of course.
It's the game that made Battlefield switch from PC to console, ruining the franchise forever.
Looks where it is now.
Every time I'm on the verge of forgetting, some OP on Yea Forums posts about ME3 and then I remember how mad I am about it
But that's the best one(other than 1942)
Play the game. Compare the ending with the quality of any other ending of a current triple A game. It's fine.
>mfw always found ME mediocre and overhyped
But it was on PC, I played it just a few days ago on PC.
I think you might be confusing it with Bad Company 1, that was a console exclusive.
same
battlefield bad company 2
I didn't even notice that one user, from earlier either.
Fuck BC2.
Brawl was better than both Melee and 64.
Bad taste
imagine being this wrong
BC1 was when it was still just a spinoff series, bc2 is when they saw they could just make pc and console gameplay the same.
series has always fucking sucked
Fuck off.
here's your reply
Its an unpopular opinion but I agree.
Its not as competitive, but the huge amount of fun content made it the best one for me.
Monster Hunter with MHW
ME3 was good though
Paper Mario
I take it you have no friends and play smash for the single player.
Imagine being this stupid.
>Battlefield
>Good series
Oh boy
t. documentary newfag
Nah, it was the first game in the series that wasn't a piece of shit. Battlefield 2 had crap gunplay and only a few good maps, expansions were shite compared to BC2: Vietnam.
PR was the only good thing that came out of it.
more like this series was shit from the start and you couldn't pretend that it was building up to something good anymore
Dragon Age wass ruined the same way with Dragon Age 2 and then Cisquisition came along and raped the fetid decaying corpse of Dragon Age even further.
We at least had mods until that point.
Danganronpa
It's not just the ending. ME3 is just so fucking shoddy.
The side quests are awful, the ME2 companions are for the most part sidelined or made into garbage. None of your choices across the series really matters which was a big aspect Bioware said they were going for. The combat is filled with so much one button context action while still being just bland and barely deeper than 2. The story arcs for the most part suck or are just meh with anything involving Cerberus and Kai Lang just being absolute trash. The star child ending is just the bullshit on top of everything.
Literally the only good part of ME3 is it's dead multiplayer. Even after years, when I tried to give it a second chance, I just couldn't. The honeymoon was over and it just wasn't just the ending anymore. I can never replay ME again now because it all leads into a game with shit quality.
Even if it was a shitty ending, I wouldn't mind if the rest of the game was great. Even amongst other rpgs, ME3 is Spiders tier trash with awful presentation, bad writing, and meh combat.
Hahaha, anybody who gets mad at this probably has BO
This but unironically
Imagine being this fucking casual. Brawl had
>Much deeper defense mechanics
>Muh harder and rewards techs
>Character unique techs unlike melees press a button garbare or 4s/Us nonexistent ones.
>Deeper character selection
>Tripping discouraged rush downs and made air game/map control more important than ever.
Sure, Brawl had slower gameplay but it was more strategic and layered than any other Smash to this date. Theres a reason why zoomers and casuals flock to U and Melee, they cant handle the mental chess behind every high level brawl match.
Also the graphics were unique and had soul-
Mass Effect 3 was actually a really good game, it just had a super shitty ending. The MP was shockingly good too.
It kept up an illusion of being good until the ending which completely shattered it.
Imagine being so contrarian you convince yourself that Brawl is the competitive peak of the series.
High level brawl is grabbing the ledge indefinitely for I frames until your opponent gets bored.
It was so bad they had to put a limit on ledgegrabs because otherwise it would be all people did.
Deeper character selection is a nice joke. Dedede invalidated more than half the cast and MetaKnight existed. There was no choice in that game. You picked a top tier or got chaingrabed forever.
t. dumb zoomer
You'll never know the feeling of booting up BF2 for the first time on Gulf of Oman, lifting off in a player controlled helicopter from an aircraft carrier into action.
Shit was cash, bought my first graphic card with my own money for this game and HL 2.
>Has any other series been ruined badly by a single entry?
Star Ocean 3
Danganronpa V3
these two have twists so bad it ruined the entire series.
Then you have shit like MGS2's twist that was so convoluted as fuck it took AN ENTIRE FUCKING GAME to explain it and in the process shat over other games in the series
Dragon Age is so fucking ruined it's not even funny.
How do you take this ASoIF inspired grim fantasy setting and immediately
>Fuck it's artstyle into anime hell in the sequel
>Turn combat into a weightless garbage
>fill it with so much gay that JoJo is sweating nervously in a corner
>Remove all the edge for a typical fantasy setting
>Never once improve the character models or animations to a respectable quality
>Never ever create a worthy sequel to the first game
>Somehow make the last entry an offline MMO with grinding
Like, DA was literally the easiest franchise to handle. There were so many sequel ideas in the lore of Origins. Origins was popular and pretty much one of only a few crpgs left on the market. It didn't even need to be a new age rpg since Bioware already owned that market with ME. They did literally everything wrong with this series both in and out of the games.
>his aircraft carriers are static
Sonic 06 maybe. It was bad enough to sour people's opinion of all the games that came before it.
I consider ME3 to be the worst failure in all of entertainment.
They had this thing in the bag, but the small committee of leads decided to bypass the writing/ creative team entirely and push through their own diarrhetic ideas.
How did BioWare become the shittiest AAA developer out there? Even surpassing Bethesda?? How is that even possible??
EA
3 was good but with a disappointing ending. Still enjoyed it. Andromeda just felt like a knife to the chest. I'm not even mad, just sad that my favorite series got raped.
EA didn't force them to become retarded. They just want money, not fucking idiots working for them.
At most they suggest shit like ''cut out part of the story and then sell it as optional DLC lmao''. That's EA.
Imagine hating the Smash game with the most content.
i don't really care because its not like my life was ruined and besides the game was midly ruined since mass effect 2
i hate nothing more than the people who keep complaining about mass effect 3 or the ones who say "i'm still so fucking mad my god"
>EA didnt force them
And im pretty sure you'd say EA didnt force any of the other kajillion dev companies that they bought to act in a specific way to generate which deviates the core of the game from its original position which makes the fans leave the series.
nah, all the mass effect games are garbage
>EA didn't force them to become retarded.
they just gutted the old staff and replaced them with EA "Yes Men" or as we now call them, NPCs
Calm down and take a shower
The gameplay was the only almost redeeming quality of that game. But they should have given you a proper toolbox of abilities and not had just a few be so good every problem became a nail.
>literally every BF before BFBC2 is anti-fun
>an actually fun, functuinal and playable BF comes around
>boomers complain that it's too casual and mainstream
>boomers complain that it ruined the franchise when in reality it only forced it to become a franchise with games that weren't only playable by autists
Based
Sticker Star
MHW
MVCi
FE Awakening
Persona 3
The ps3
I've never even bothered to play ME3.
Is it at least fun?
I know the ending is shit, but let's say I don't give a fuck about the story, is it still an enjoyable game?
>Has any other series been ruined badly by a single entry?
>Is it at least fun?
In the same way a train wreck is.
Bloodbourne. Now you’ve got soys obsessed with much lovecraftian setting claiming how it’s the best one and being so conceited as to refer to the series as Soulsbourne.
>implying
SR says hi.
Anthem
>Danganronpa V3
>twists so bad it ruined the entire series.
If you’re a brainlet that believes everything he’s told
SSE was fun (fuck the revisionist history nu shills), but Melee had better events and unlocking characters was fun as fuck.
Of course there's also the matter of Brawl's engine being shit compared to Melee.
>Literally the brown and bloom of smash games
>Soul
lol
Brawl looked like dogshit.
>but it was more strategic and layered
They don’t call him “Meta” Knight for anything
>is it still an enjoyable game?
Combat portions, yes. Otherwise it's a freaking cringefest and nonsensical.
The most fun I've ever had with a smash bros game is going through the subspace emmissary with my friends.
Brawl had more content and was much more fun casually than Melee was competitively. Better soundtrack, better newcomers, better Adventure mode, and even better announcer.
You don’t even get to participate in the big ass space battle that you had to gather resources for. That was the second biggest middle finger
In your opinion
SSE being fun is revisionist history. The only good part was the cutscenes.
MGSV
BF modern combat was the game that made BF switch to console and was basically BF2 for consoles
These
>people can ruin old games
Stop using social media you fucking retarded zoomer
Yes, but my opinion is better than Meleefags' opinions because they're smelly degenerates and I am not.
This. I still think Brawl was better than Melee, but SSE was only fun for the cutscenes. The platforming was subpar and the bosses were generic. World of Light is honestly better.
Nah, general consensus was that it was an enjoyable but flawed mode. Definitely the best single player Smash experience, though shills will attack it anyway to draw attention from the fact that 99% of WoL is shit.
I'll defend WOL because 99% of WOL is Smash Bros. instead of dogshit platforming using Smash characters, plus I liked Galeem and Dharkon more than Tabuu.
WoL is just a lazier, bloated, repetitive event mode and hiding the only good content behind hours of shit is a bad design.
I do not understand why shills suck it off as if it were God's own cum dispenser.
this, and the "waifus", especially the blue cunts, are overrated as fuck and don't deserve the amount of R34 they have
>and hiding the only good content behind hours of shit is a bad design.
Good thing ultimate doesn't do that, huh. If anything that's all Brawl.
>no u
Thx shill
That's not a "no u".
In fact, aside from Galeem and Dharkon's fight name one piece of gameplay locked to WoL.
Actually based.
>It's OK to have a shitty mode because only a little bit of good Gameplay is locked behind it
This is your brain on shilling
Yeah it's amazing how they went from DAO to those shitty sequels. I can almost understand DA2 because it was rushed as fuck but Cisquisition has no excuse and it raped the lore beyond recovery. I fucking hate Bioware.
Mass Effect was never good
nah that was 4
>12 hour game with 4 hours of gameplay
>octocamo makes game impossibly dumbed down
>only first act and second up to octopus are fun sneaking sandboxes, rest of the game is set piece garbage, act 4 is literally just member berries and one good boss fight.
>retcon pretty much everything at the last moment for MUH FANSERVICE
>like a hundred guns but all of them are the fucking same (at least PW and 5 you get to customize them)
>snake gets microwaved for literally no reason at all
Kojima was already long done with solid and was totally phoning it in.
5 would have been way better if they made an "episodic" game. Konami obviously flipped their shit when they saw
>Chapter 2
and Kojima probably refused to split the game into pieces.
I wouldn't say MGSV for me, that was just the final nail to the coffin.
For me 4 disappointed me first, but I could live with it, PW literally killed it for me, the twists had become convoluted, Miller was best buddies with Big Boss now, Vocaloid chips are canon to how Metal Gears work, Peace Walker and Zeke were absolutely shit Metal Gears that ruined the tech evolution that was depicted in the MSX games, etc.
Then MGSV reignited my interest, only for it to slap me in the face and remind me Kojima was a hack again. I will never understand why people say PW was good when it pretty much ruined the franchise for me. If PW hadn't existed I would've been far less mad about MGSV, but as it stands I just fucking am mad about pretty much everything after MGS4.
What a fucking shitshow.
Explain, or is this some "you need a high IQ to understand" bullshit.
>5 would have been way better if they made an "episodic" game.
>Konami obviously flipped their shit when they saw Chapter 2
>and Kojima probably refused to split the game into pieces.
Same user as but that wasn't the case. A script was leaked proving that literally nothing else was planned story-wise after Chapter 2. The only thing was a small scene where you executed infected Chico, but that's it, the script doesn't even mention a boss fight. Kojima had no plans for literally anything else in terms of story in MGSV, literally anything else that was left was in terms of gameplay. The fact the Skull Face VA even confirmed a year before the game was released that he had very little dialogue proved that not much was really planned. Other than Kingdom of the Flies which may not have been as good as originally planned and Chico's mercy-kill, there really wasn't much planned after Chapter 2.
Which doesn't make sense to me, the engine makes it easy to fucking make structures, maps and use assets. They could've easily at least had a final mission with Operation Intrude N313 from Venom's perspective but they didn't.
Face it, MGSV was never intended to be more than what's already in the game.
THIS
That really blows, I didn't know a lot of that stuff. I heard about the cut content back then and thought it was a case like Itsuno and Dragon's Dogma where we only got like 1/5th of the game he wanted to make.
I can partly understand leaving things open ended, it's not comprised of "missions" like Peace Walker there is an open world and you select missions from there. I don't get why he would call it chapter 2, who makes anything with only 2 chapters? Just call it Epilogue.
I feel a little bit better about the game knowing it isn't as unfinished as I thought,
I like most of the things about the game, especially the gameplay. The thing that kills me the most is Sutherland. Kojima totally hyped him up, and then Venom is silent except for like 4 cutscenes. Nigga, you already have a character named Quiet. The most embarrassing part is the jeep ride with Skull Face, sitting in silence for 3 minutes after he is talking, Snake never fucking said a thing during the entire conversation.
Id say Metroid is still recovering from Other M.
Worst part is retards don’t know Prime and 2D are separate so even Prime is damaged by Other Ms fuck up
