Is the Switch really selling almost 10 times more than the PS4?
And this before Dragon Quest or Animal Crossing etc. Isn't that insane? How come?

Where are the usual suspects now?

Switch has games Japs want to play

Its fucking over

It's too late, that Westaboo can't appeal to the Japs anymore.

JAPAN, DO YOUR PART.

NINTENDO WON

Japan has some impressively shit taste. Honestly worse than Europe

>Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu
That's a baseball game right?
Is it any good?
I miss old sports games

You mean FF7 remake right
Japan doesnt even know death stranding exists

Yeah and major 3rd parties like Capcom and Namco, Sega still don't give a fuck and release their new games on Switch.

smash dipping below 10k
guess it was to be expected

boring week overall though

Yea, where the fuck is CoD?
No CoD, no Madden, no RDR2, no GTA V for the 300th time, what the fuck?

Imagine being THIS delusional, can't wait for Kojima to blow all you the fuck out.

It's still the best selling Switch game in Japan. Seethe harder.

t. seething snoygger

Selling Stocks, I am very sure it was confirmed they are not being made anymore.

Don't you have a Pokemon thread to bump with pedo pictures?

If you dont have an argument just dont reply kid.

I don't think that'll change anything, Playstation has been slowly dying in Japan ever since the PS2

The Switch port of Dragon Quest only matters for the west, because of the OST.

And Fire Emblem is coming out in just over a week.

If your argument is "I don't like it so it's shit" go neck yourself, retard.

Animal Crossing will dominate in Japan and will massively boost Switch sales because it will be many girls' first Switch game.

>The Switch port of Dragon Quest only matters for the west, because of the OST.
Eh? You are saying you don't think it'll sell gangbusters in Japan?

Attached: 1560336838884.jpg (1280x618, 441K)

They must be extremely frustrated by this. In one hand, they can SEE that market in grow, who eats any port they trow at them (which is a limited stock in the long run), but in the other, they already have a sure market already installed, which demand games that just can't run on the Switch, or at the very least require more resorces than they are willing to put to be ported.

There are also companies like Square that allegedly have studios working on Switch only... but we are yet to see any real results from that.

I am curious for the next gen, with the new consoles finding their way in the market, maybe we get to see a couple of years of double A games, being trow to all consoles, including the Switch.

Damn that one PS4 game in 10th stopping the full sweep haha.

No new PS4 games
Only games for westerners
Japanese games are censored on PS3, but not on the Switch
Everyone that wanted one bought it 6 years ago
10,000 / 50,000 is roughly 1/5
Not portable
Nobody in Japan buys Madden/FIFA/COD

>Caring about Japan

splatoon is finally dead

We have been over this already, the only reason we report on this data is because we have regular access to it. The other regions don't give their numbers with this regularity.

And still, with so many companies being the Japanese origin, and still giving some level of priority to their local market, is interesting to see their sales, cause they can determinate their future actions and of their games.

>Honestly worse than Europe

Yeah right.

Attached: Europe.jpg (645x645, 106K)

What are some interesting, good, upcoming western console games please.
Because from what I can see, Japan is the only region releasing good games.

Switch is seen as a handheld

River City Girls.

Any others?

It really depends on how well the PS5 does and what the new Nintendo console's specs are, I can see those companies give up on cutting edge graphics if what we're seeing persists.

Does Doom Eternal count? It's really a PC game but it's on all the consoles.

Except Dragon Quest is more popular in Japan than the West

>PS3
what the fuck

cope

user, they're still releasing games for the fucking Wii.
Just Dance 2020 comes out in November and it has a fucking Wii version.

Do we have any preorder figures or anything? I renenber some stores s I'd that before, they still do that?

COMGnet, but don't take it as an indication for anything.

>11k x 10 = 55k

I admit that I missed a whole digit on the Pro sales. That was my error.

Yeah, that's it. I was just a little bit curious how omega labyrinth life and labyrinth life is going

No my argument is that the game looks like shit
the combat animation look like shit
we still dont know what the game is even about, just walking around like an idiot
Game looks like shit right now

shut up

You are high if you think Just Dance 2020 isnt going to be out for the Wii

People are waiting for PS5 and most of them already owns a PS4. Nintendo is not winning buddy.

>waiting for PS5
Given that TLOU2 will likely be the launch title, does Japan care much for TLOU or Naughty Dog games in general?
I heard that TLOU1 sold 117K in its first week in JApan, but I'm not sure if those numbers are good

That's an okay-ish number, but definitely not system seller status.

>total PS4 sales (not unique owners but total sales) are about 8.4 million
>Switch sales are 8.5, more likely to be completely unique customers given that the system hasn't been out for that long for units to break after only 2 years compared to PS4's 6

I wonder if any new big games will be announced for PS5 launch. FF7Re:Episode2 won't be out till 2022 at least, and I honestly don't know if MHW2 would be out in that time either.

>It really depends on how well the PS5 does and what the new Nintendo console's specs are
What new Nintendo console?

Switch is their 9th gen platform

I expect them to put something new out around 2023-ish

Look at the top ten games this week.
Put two and two together.

Well that'll be long after PS5 is out, and I don't see them ditching the Switch after six years anyway as long as its still selling.

This
If the Switch hits good numbers, they'll keep it alive DS/3DS style
Which I wouldn't be opposed to honestly, by taht point devs will likely be more competent with porting or more companies like Panic Button will come out to help port jobs go smoothly.
I hope this thing reaches DS status in terms of library

But this happens every week, PS4 is just dead in Japan. It sold most of what it will ever sell there already, there's nothing left coming for it that is going to sell millions of PS4s in Japan.

>PS1: 19m
>PS2: 23m
>PS3: 10m
>PS4: 8m

Not hard to see why Sony is doubling down on the western market with Playstation, sales in Japan have been declining for well over a decade.

only Capcom

>[NSW] Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! / Let’s Go, Eevee! (Bundle Editions Included) (Nintendo, 11/16/18) – 5,715 (1,577,403)
why are they still buying this shit

Attached: O_13.jpg (1108x1390, 594K)

I wonder if they even hit 5 million with PS5.

>Sony is doubling down on the western market
Thats fine but did they need to shit on Japan face with the anime censorship? Is like they want to fail in Japan.

>I hope this thing reaches DS status in terms of library
The DS has the largest library of any Nintendo platform and the Switch is going to pass it in a matter of months. It'll only be two and a half years old and it'll already have more games than any other Nintendo platform ever.

And yeah I expect the Switch to stick around for a while, even if they trot out a new platform I expect the Switch to continue to be supported. I could see them doing a new home console in ~2025 or so, but that really depends on how the market moves forward. PS5 and Xbnone2 might not do all that well, we'll have to see.

>The DS has the largest library of any Nintendo platform and the Switch is going to pass it in a matter of months. It'll only be two and a half years old and it'll already have more games than any other Nintendo platform ever.
Not knocking on the Switch's library, but times have changed considerably due to the possibility of digital distribution and the boom of indie devs. Way easier for anyone to put games out.

Why does only japan matter to nincels?

it's like 20 dollar in bundle that's why

You know switch is also selling better than PS4 all over the world right

I don't mean in library size but number of standalone quality hits
I mostly just want the Switch's popularity to jumpstart a new era of A and AA games from studios of all sizes.
Bad for brand.
When you have a club, your prestige is measured by what kind of person you keep out. The irony is that the majority of PS4 owners don't know these anime games exist, but they know there will be bad press if someone discovers it

They clearly don't care. 8 million sold in Japan versus 80+ million everywhere else, do the math.

There's no reason for them to care anymore, they could probably lose Japan entirely and it wouldn't matter. Japanese games don't sell huge numbers anywhere, the Japanese aren't buying the console or many of its games, no reason to not double down on the western market.

Point being it'll have a massive library, its already getting much better third-party support than N64, GC Wii or Wii U. It'll have more games than the PS4 by some time in 2020.

And then the western market will move away from consoles too and they will deeply regret their actions.

Right, Europeans' consumption of FIFA games is just a myth.

They stopped coming to these threads after Switch surpassed PS4 and just claim Japan doesn’t matter

well, if we're putting out things we'd like from the DS to be on the Switch
I'd love it if they brought back download play capabilities. I got sold on Starfox DS through that.
I think it'd be really interesting to be able to try out AC:NH or Luigi's Mansion 3 or other things by downloading a temporary level and playing it co-op with someone

This
They’ll be lucky to do 10,000 in the 1st week

Is that why Ps4 sold more than the Switch in 2018 despite being like 3 years older?

>yfw the PS5 can't outsell the Vita in Japan

Animal crossing without a doubt
Fucking New leaf won GOTY like 3 times in 3 different years

Attached: 73572992_p0.png (2169x1989, 689K)

Remember last year when you were posting a dozen NPD threads every month? What happened to that?

>Switch – 55,823 (8,504,730)
>PlayStation 4 – 6,768 (7,007,876)
>PlayStation 4 Pro – 4,173 (1,213,663)
Big yikes for Sony. And will become bigger after the Switch mini. They really shouldn't have dropped the Vita in Japan.

sugoi degai :DDDDD

>Literally 75% fucking Fifa
Jesus Christ

Is there an explanation as to why they dropped support for it?
Did they expect it to sell itself like the PSP?

What are you talking about, schizo?

There's multiple reasons. One is that the PS4 actually started selling like hotcakes, at some point even sony was a little surprised how well it sold. When that happened, they were actually having a push for Vita software; Freedom Wars and Oreshika to name the ones that they were investing in Japan. Freedom wars sold well enough for a new IP IIRC, but since they needed more power behind the PS4 momentum they clearly invested their power there. And ultimately from business perspective, that was the correct choice. Japanese console market has been getting smaller for a good long while and I don't think there's much to do to turn it back.

In Japan they probably will invest more in gachashit, they have made those mobile games already for Everybodys golf and Wild arms I think.

Thanks for the confirmation Eric. Always nice to see that the same buzzwords never go out of style.

Did you forget your pills?

>THE PAST IS THE PRESENT! FUCK REALITY
yeah, not your shining moment today

It’s not
Those niggers buy Fifa like crazy

>And then the western market will move away from consoles too
No, consoles will just turn into streaming boxes for subscription services

You mouth-breathing Snoibois always pant and gurgle
>b-b-but outsold by three year old consul
Ignoring that launch-aligned Switch sold more in its first two years than the PS4.

TSUUU

Cope nintencel

>One is that the PS4 actually started selling like hotcakes
It took 2 years to outsell the Wii U in Japan and has only sold a little over 8 million total, my dude, it at no point "sold like hotcakes" over there. Its been stagnant and has sold fewer units than any past Playstation console in Japan, with no signs of that changing. Sony was surprised because it was literally dead in the water in Japan, they even launched it late there.

I think he means internationally

I should've been more clear, I meant worldwide. Perhaps if it had been a slower launch overall, they would've tried to diversify the places where they get money. Japan is not a market that they're investing in other than mobile gaming.

Is this the part where you spend the next few hours keeping the thread alive?

That had little relevance to Japan and the Vita though, it sold on FIFA, GTA and COD, games Japan isn't really interested in and games Sony didn't make, let alone their Japanese studios.

Well, I guess it's just that they have no interest in a market that is dying on their perspective.

I think he's saying that each market has its reasons why the Switch port is desirable. Japan is portability, West is features.

None of your coping will change the fact that the Ps4 was the most selling console in 2018 despite being 4 years older and also has much more sales in general

Attached: 1560881966918.png (240x233, 38K)

>6 year old console beats Switch's sales last year worldwide
>*Crickets*
>Shitch beats it in a tiny irrelevant island where console gaming is almost dead and where mobile gacha shit is king(FGO is Sony btw)
>OMG WE DID IT SHITCH BROS
Call me when it's 100m+ and counting.

Attached: 1524285919854.png (1280x1201, 207K)

year old console beats Switch's sales last year worldwide
But not launch aligned. The Switch is tracking better. Unless the trend breaks, the Switch would have an even better sixth year than the PS4.

is god eater 3 on switch good?

>IF IF IF IF IF
Again call me when it actually happens

Attached: 1549293322973.jpg (1200x508, 58K)

Dude. I am not the one obsessing over year 6 sales when the Switch has only had 2.
We can make definite year 2 comparisons, but year 6 comparisons are nothing but "if" scenarios until the Switch has actually had 6 years.

>2 year comparison
Yeah PS4 sold more in 2017FY and 2018FY.

>2017FY
1 year versus 4
>2018FY
2 years versus 5

You aren't comparing the first year to the first year and the second year to the second year.
That's why we have to wait and see what the Switch will have sold on its 4th year and its 5th year before we can compare it to the PS4's 2017FY and 2018FY. Until then we can only compare the Switch's first and and second year, to the PS4's first and second year.

>revenue

>there is only one PS4 game that is being sold that is on the list and it's selling better on the Switch
What the fuck?

There's a demo you can download.

There's also an issue with saturation. Essentially, everyone that wants a PlayStation already has a PlayStation. The Switch hasn't been out that long and there are probably still people waiting on the sidelines until there are enough games on the system that they want to play are released.

>more people bought the PSVita than the Xbox systems combined
kek

Maybe next gen Phil can get some more idolm@sters.

This is going to change when games start coming out on the PS4.

I wonder how well Fire Emblem will do. It has gotten quite a lot of marketing in Japan it looks like.

sony stop supporting japan, i hope japan stop supporting sony

When will that be?

>Norman Reedus
>The Walking Dead
>Worldwide appeal
Lol the west doesn't even care about that shitty show anymore.

playstation is an otaku and westaboo machine. Normal people in japan buy handhelds.

>[PS4] Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle (Koei Tecmo, 07/04/19) – 5,421 (20,238)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAH

When MHW Iceborne, Ghosts of Tsushima and Death Stranding drop.

Isn't FE more of a niche series to begin with?

Like the other user said they killed it to focus entirely on the PS4. It's why games like Gravity Rush 2 went from PSVita to the PS4.

In just surprised how bad the Vita is doing in Japan now. That's literally Xbox levels of bad. It used to give Nintendo a run for its money.

There is literally nothing to play on the Vita.

>It used to give Nintendo a run for its money.
That's a blatant lie and you know it. The Vita was doing 6k a week a few months after launch.

Attached: 1545446230095.png (1536x865, 151K)

Games are already coming. The problem is, they're also coming to the Switch and people prefer that console over there.

But you can see exactly that in that graphic. Once Sony killed it the growth stopped.

Only indie titles and VNs, literally nothing that makes the Vita worth purchasing. What I'm saying is, it needs Monster Hunter.

He's unfortunately right. Places like Japan, Korea, and China love that shit show alot for some reason.

Thought you were talking about the PS4. I it s getting more than just VNs. We got DQ builders 2and that's a big title in Japan.

They completely discontinued the Vita. What little Vita sales there are are probably just leftover stock.

That sold better on the Switch.

Where's the Splatoon 2 bundle? Thought that shit would never drop of the top 10

Attached: 1563019156487.png (396x385, 62K)

And that's what my original point is. The PS4 is getting games, but the problem is that it's the same games the Switch has. And people prefer buying them there.

That was a really shit decision by Sony. At least in Japan.
