At what point can people just have fun with their hobbies?
when you feel like driving +8 hours a day every single day is cool
are you asking because of his setup, or in spite of it?
yeah unironically.
Like flight, racing, boat or train sims I understand.
But bus and truck sims? Might as well do it RL and get paid.
At that point, if you were such an enthusiast about being a truck driver why wouldn't you just go all out trying to get a job as one? Surely it can't be that hard
I was going to grill you, but you put the +
That industry is rough
real trucks are scary
Doesn't this guy have epilepsy or some other condition that prevents him form driving irl?
That's why he has this huge sim setup. He want's to drive, but he can't.
Stop ruining my thread with facts
pussy
Because there's no consequences if you decide to run the truck off the road in a video game.
>stop having fun waaaahhh
dilate
meme answer: when I feel like becoming a truck driver
Actual answer: When you’re ready to contribute, the sooner the better
Once you get over the learning curve it's as easy as driving a regular car. You just gotta watch out for other drivers.
This guy's setup is so intense and well-put-together. If he has any marketing skills, he could probably make a living building custom setups for rich lazy fucks.
Oh and a clarification, this isnt an insult, meant a neutral you
>be me
>start driving a taxi after 4 years of being a neet and playing vidya 5+hours a day
>everyone says you get horrible back and neck pain from sitting all day
>3 years of driving 200-500km 5 days a week
>still no back or neck pain
Thanks vidya
Really? That’s cool man
Fun fact : ETS2 made me get my CDL (the european equivalent at any rate) and work in the trucking business. I did like driving truck. But everything else is shit, especially when you work for a piss poor company with shitty reputation. 70+ hours/week paid less than shit (9.25€ before taxes).
I don't drive a truck anymore, but I still do drive an awful lot both IRL and in ETS2/ATS, because ETS2 and ATS are all the pleasures of driving a truck with practically none of the RL bullshit.
I do still miss driving RL trucks though, it's awesome.
He raised the quality of your thread by providing actual interesting & good information.
Truck driving is on the same level as retail when it comes to the danger of being automised. These fancy driving AIs are being pushed because it eliminates drivers from the equation of hauling. Trucks can run 100% of the time, no fatigue, no need to stop for anything but fuel and maintenance. Think of that scene from Logan where it's just trailers barreling along.
In that regard I wouldn't recommend truck driving to anybody as a career choice these days.
Until you splat a preschooler and get financially ruined for life. I would never drive them death machines, let google take over.
You can stop to play the sims when you want.
You cannot stop your job when you want (IF you want the money ofc)
Because any kind of work is fun as long as you approach it as a novelty. Nothing is fun when you have to do it as a job on a forced schedule.
Looks like he IS at his job. Streaming to smacktards like yourself.
What if he already has a higher paying job and makes extra money from this?
i would never ever ever EVER drive a truck. EVER. navigating my city + winnipeg in a tiny car is almost fucking impossible with all the construction. i cannot fucking imagine being told what route to take and then getting there to find a dozen detours with no fucking signage
construction + detours have caused 4 overpasses to be hit by overheight trucks because there was literally no other way to go but back the way you came and go around the city. fucking ludicrous. and those dudes lose their jobs for hitting something with their truck.
i have a hard enough time with vague instructions and unrealistic expectations at my desk job, i can't imagine those same issues while driving a colossal monster machine
>crash virtual truck
>lol whoops
>crash real truck
>life ruined for months at least
These streamers are getting paid more than actual truckers.
You are literaly the biggest chad-veicle in the entire road, the only thing that can posibly kill you is crashing on a tall wall geting crushed by the backload
Euro Truck is like the Witcher of driving games. It is so incredibly boring and dull but somehow manages to be one of the top rated games at the moment.
>tfw hypersomnia
it's not about physical harm you doofus it's about smashing a $200k into a $500k bridge because the city workers blocked off the only road with semi access and you're boss is already on your ass for being 20 mins behind due to the LAST bunch of construction so you were rushing and tired
fuck all of that dude. there's a reason they con immigrants into that work nowadays
I have a 370Z and a ZX12R. Both get around ~25-30MPG. If i want to drive for 3 hours to unwind after a bad day, it's going to cost me around 15 dollars in fuel give or take. It costs me nothing in X-trucker sim.
That said i still usually just end up riding my bike lol. But the point is, if you'd enjoy driving for 3 hours ETS/ATS is for you.
I'm the heir of a large American company and I donated $30,000 to a cute streamer girl who gets like barely 20 views at a time. Needless to say she lost her shit and began crying on stream, asking me for my cellphone number so she could thank me over the phone.
Lmao what a fucking loser.
probably doesn't want to deal with 18 hour shifts and having to chase wild niggers off his rig after every rest stop
>navigating USA's shitty roadway system with a truck
No thanks.
>that multi 1000$ setup
>that ugly shitty GAYMING RBG corsair headset
>that image
Christ, by that point just get someone to ride shotgun with a shotgun, not like there's any other way you'll scare those chimps off
Truck driving is unironically comfy
can't do, we're too enlightened for that shit in Europe
besides, you can't trust citizens with exercising violence, even in self-defense, that's what the police are for :^)
Probably the brand his sponsored by.
>He want's to drive, but he can't.
damn
>that fucking pic
just switch into reverse gear and roll those subhumans over
If you can manage being on the road, long haul really isn't all that bad. The hours are long, but you spend most of them going down highways on cruise control, or sitting around waiting to un/load. As long as you keep a good stock of audiobooks/podcasts/whatever, it's an easy job.
I am pretty sure that a lot of the really hardcore flight sim fans use it to practice for the real thing
>At what point do you get up and just get a fucking job?
Are you fucking retarded? ETS offers all the best aspects of driving a truck without any of the bullshit, and 99% of it's bullshit.
It's shit pay, dangerous and shit work and tiring as fuck.
That set up is extremely cheap compared to a real truck.
Those things are bashit insane expensive.
Maybe he doesn't want to spend his entire life paying off the truck he had to buy in order to get a job to earn enough so he could actually pay it off before he was 60.
Truck driving is fucked.
Does anyone have the vid with the Migrants rushing a truck at night?
that's why it's scary, I have a terrible fear of somehow being responsible for a road accident that leaves a entire family dead or something and being at the wheel of a truck only makes that threat feel heightened to me
That's why you don't buy a truck, you just become a company driver. You still make good money. I started out at about 60k my first couple years in Atlantic Canada, where 60k is a damn good salary.
>still no video of a pissed off polack running down fifty people in a fit of anger
Why even invent dash cams
lmao pussy
Developing on this point:
You should watch this. He wears the belt in the chair to retrain him during seizures.
I think the biggest problem is trying to maneuver that thing. I have such a shitty spatial awareness that i can barelly park my small hot hatch, now imagine trying to park one of those huge trucks.
What
I stopped being a truck driver because I kept having thoughts like "What if I just drove into this crowd of people, would my score be 100?" then a little girl's voice in my head would say "Just do it, we can have so much fun with it", "You're God, show them your wrath!" or something about humans being doomed and needed to be punished. I think the girl represented an angel or something
But that's before I was "fixed" and got on meds, I mean I could be a truck driver again but meh, ain't risking it
I know that feel fellow schizophrenic user, I can’t even take pictures of myself without the voice telling me that I’m an ugly failure, so I always delete them right after.
I mean why are dash cams even a thing if there isn't a video of an aggravated truck driver killing scores of refugees from behind the wheel of a large truck.
I got that, but I couldn't find the happening. Was it hypothetical situation or did truckdriver really roll over rapefugees?
But the game is nowhere compareable to real driving...
>lol
oh nvm
