I was ok with Keanu being inserted into it; but then some anons pointed out that any celebs CDPR brings on for this game; will likely result in increasingly lower quality gameplay and content. I expect it to be a casual shooter. CDPR could have found some nobody and made them famous with this game, kicking off some dude's voice acting/modelling career and it would not have cost them insane money to do so. I am gonna leave the door cracked open just in case this game ends up blowing us away, but I think the chances of this are really low at this point.

Alternate pathing is not a branching path. All games should have multiple ways to solve a problem, that's just decent gameplay. Branching paths are when you permanently alter the gamestate through one of your choices that will manifest itself as a different turn of events entirely.

How do you know that? I think something like 2077 is only technically feasible right now because of some clever use of stuff like occlusion culling and dynamic cell loading. Keep in mind it's not like GTA where 99% of buildings are just a facade with no interior, it'll very probably have a much higher content density than that while being seamless. What do controllable flying cars really add beyond the cool factor and possibly one or two cool chases? Moreover, if you just give the player 100% freedom to fly anywhere that makes gating certain content a lot harder (there could be no-go areas that are heavily patrolled by sentries or drones or some anti-air or whatever of course, but sticking to the ground is probably just more fun). If there won't be any controllable flying cars it's probably for a reason.

The point of classess was specialization and complimentarity, which in single-character focused game does not make much sense. Not to mention it quickly becomes a nightmare to ballance. In an action adventure, classess seem really like a pointless gimmick. I'm honestly surprised they decided to still keep them in.

I realized something was up when Pondsmith admitted in an interview pretty much the only thin he's ever done for CDPR is okay the removal of features.

CDPR were never a mechanically focused studio. Even TW1 was incredibly shallow mechanics-wise. It's just not their schtick. To me, it means their games will be forever good, but not great. In that way, they frankly feel like a real successor to the old Bioware: making accessible and reasonable games, fun but not paradigm chaning.

All of the "classes" exist in the game world. However your character is basically a solo/netrunner/techie. You can pick and choose how much you focus on any of those, plus there's stealth, driving, and social ability.

This means that although you can imagine your character as whatever, you don't have the social role and backup that some roles have. You aren't a cop right now so you don't have legal authority and call in police backup. You aren't considered trustworthy and famous as a member of the media. You aren't in charge of corporate resources. You don't have a gang who backs you up.

If you could switch back fairly easily I think more people would try it. Trannies being more common in an amoral dystopian shithole doesn't seem out of place

Elder Scrolls games are 90% side quests anyway.
However even if you kill all the NPCs that are essential to the main quest of Morrowind you can still complete the game if you know what items you need and where to go to kill the final boss. It's still very organic because the boss is part of the world and everybody is aware of his faction.

that seems like a completely unreasonable thing to include in Cyberpunk 2077. Morrowind didn't even have voice acting outside of NPC barks and boss dialogue
