Shit that reminds me I need to play this game. It's one of the few games from my home country along with KCD and ARMA (although technically Spellcross is Slovak so I guess it isn't really Czech). Regardless the premise sounds fun and I am surprised it's so obscure, I do remember someone making a thread about it on /vr/ though, but I wish it got more attention along with Darklands.
To answer your question OP, pic related. Good game, but I am pretty sure I am one of the few people that played it because I can't find a single patch to fix the graphical bugs. Also it seems the devs originally wanted to make it a Resident Evil-like but then scrapped it but kept the camera and controls but made it less tanky and more action-y like DMC? I dunno the gameplay is hard to describe.

It's so obscure that the Japan-only sequels are almost impossible to emulate (I tried and there's only two videos of the sequel on Youtube, one of them is the intro and the other is a video recorded by camera on the screen), I think the only game in the franchise that gained some renown was the PS3 game which was decent too. Anyways the original game is both obscure and one of the few games that is still hiding Easter eggs and secrets that not everyone has found. I remember stumbling across a giant dinosaur looking fish (I think it was a Dunkleosteus) and then never finding it again, and when I tried to look it up, only one person has mentioned such an encounter and it was on a deleted wikipedia edit. Part of me wants the game to gain more attention so that more people look for the secrets within the game, and another part of me wishes it stayed obscure because playing the game with no knowledge of it is really spooky, the game is creepy to play because it really simulates going down into the depths of the Ocean and seeing these strange findings. If you want a surreal horror-like Ocean experience that's like Dream Emulator on PS1, I highly recommend this game.
