Really liked it and the story and characters are the best in series.

She had an alright character and her story was pretty funny. Plus you get Yosuke as a brother-in-law so there's that as well. She's certainly not terrible in any way and I liked how she came out of her shell.
Amane is definitely the standout of the lot, it was cute to see how she went from closed off to excited to be with Yagami each time.

The only reason I ain't never buying into PC yakuzas again is because 0 still refuses to stop freezing randomly for 5-10 literally anywhere, even cutscenes which makes the game skip those timeframes. Tried all fixes, nothing. Sega a shit.

EX Burst but it means you take damage in it, swaying into a dodge roll because you get iframes during the entire portion of a sway and a dodge when it concerns projectiles, or rush towards the guy first thing and hope.

But I managed to find a solution. Steam controller settings have a special feature called "activators" (which they HID from the view for some reason, even though it used to be visible, but it's still there, you just have to press select/share button when binding a button), which lets you set up "turbo" mode for your controller buttons. Thank fuck.
So, in case anyone's having trouble with Fantasy Zone or Space Harrier - heads up.

PC version broke darts, Space Harrier, Fantasy Zone, and Outrun/Super Hang-On seemed to have more cars on the road. One workaround is going into Big Picture and making it so the fire button is put onto a turbo with the fastest speed which is faster than holding down auto-fire. For some reason Space Harrier and Fantasy Zone in particular are nothing like the PS4 versions and they're completely different emulations, it makes no sense.

Space Harrier on PS4 seems to have one or two more lives too.
You don't need to go into the full Big Picture mode though, you can call the controller configuration from the regular overlay.
I still don't understand why they would hide the activators feature from the user though. Especially since it used to be visible when it was introduced.

When I did it I could have sworn there was an option to click on the button and then click "Select" which let you open up a menu that let you configure turbo if you felt like it. Better story then the last 4 yakuza games. Yagami has gotten a better character development and personality in a single game then Kiryu in 7 games.
Gameplay got a lot better then 6 and Kiwami 2. Side characters actually matter longer then just 1 side mission.

I like the gameplay more than 6, but so far I feel that it's definitely inferior to Kiwami 2.

I knew who he was from spoilers and there's still a bunch of reveals and the entire journey is basically a rollercoaster so yes. It's like knowing Adachi is the killer for Persona 4. Yeah, it's an important reveal but there's so much more than just the one thing. It doesn't even explain why he kills people, what the deal is with the methods he uses, etc.

Considering the only reason he's a yakuza is because his boss saved his ass I doubt he'll be that..."rough" I guess would be the best way to put it. I'm sure he thinks everyone's out for themselves considering his upbringing but I doubt he'll let people be if they're being hurt or taken advantage of by others. He'll probably be sarcastic, sure, but there's no way he's just going to ignore these people. Yagami's a bit more callous than Saejima for instance with his inner monologue constantly hating being roped into things, but even he steps up to the plate to help people constantly.

The funny thing is that he isn't the one that's a Kamen Rider/Ultraman protag. Kaito even drops Tsukasa's catchphrase which is even funnier for multiple reasons.

A problem yakuza 1 had is that Kiryu had relationships and histories with a good amount of characters, but we didn't see any of it. Only thing we saw was him developing relationships with new characters.

Once you complete the main story you load your completed save it'll automatically take you into Premium Adventure. There is a location that is closed late in the story so Premium Adventure allows you to finish all side content and gives you access to all locations (in Kamurocho).

NG+ is different. That carries over some progress into a new game and you can play through the story once more.

During Drone Racing. I think that minigame has 4 or 5 soundtracks. If you haven't played it yet do it. It's on of RGG best minigames

You have two options:

1: You learn to play it. It's fun if you know how to do it. I learned in Kiwami and love to play it since then.

2: You buy the nine gates tale.

Step 1: You play the VR Dice game to farm easy a ton of money.

Step 2: You have to unlocked the Quickstarter app and have to fund the hug bombs until you unlock hug bomb omega.

Step 3: Farm money to buy a ton of hug bomb omega. they cost each 140.000 in the poppo store.

Step 4: Make the Extract: Growth to raise the amount of SP.

Step 5: Chug the bomb. with the extract each one gives you i think 800 SP.

You need a lot of money to do it but if you have the free dice pass you can farm easy money.

One decent Long Course is enough to pay for the Hug Bombs, 2.5 millionish is enough for close to 10k SP assuming you're using Growth.

I'm pretty sure Shouno did it himself. I thought the whole point of that reveal was to drive home even more the point that he was just as much of a monster if not worse than everyone else involved in the case.

I suffer from ADHD and never played an Yakuza game for more than 1 chapter and i can confirm this happens.

Depends. The story of this game has a larger focus on the main character than the last couple yakuzas where everything is dependant on Tak. The actual plot is stronger and more interesting with a different approach to scale. They clearly made a character that's better suited to the new engine than Kiryu because Tak plays so much better in it. The real problem is that the franchise has so much side content and additional content to fill in the gaps between story missions. This game doesn't really pick up until the 6th or 7th chapter, and a large part of it is the amount of side stuff you can get into up to that point is a lot more plentiful. It's just that most of it fucking sucks. Drone racing is hot garbage, VR is only fun because of the fighting challenge, all the minigames are the same shit again and there's a House of the Dead minigame that's nowhere near as fun as a controller. The big one is substories and this game's substories are garbage. There's 50 and I remember liking maybe 8 of them. The pervert trio is kind of funny but Tak is just so dry for most of it. He doesn't have that level of awkwardness Kiryu does so he's not put into the same precarious situations. They rely too heavily on trailing missions, which is easily the shittiest mechanic of any of the games ever made. It's not difficult in the slightest but tedious and boring. They insist on doing it so many fucking times in the sidestory yet barely any mystery solving or something more puzzle-esque. Some of the times when the game requires you to think, Tak will eventually just say the answer out loud. The main story is such a great time but being in Kamuro for the hundredth time gets really stale when that's the payoff for exploring it.

In which case, they're not as good as the original but you probably won't care that much unless you played the JP version or saw somebody stream it or something. Amon's projectiles heal you if you use the right style for it. He also stops getting damage from the style he is using also (crane attacks are useless when he's blue, for example).

It's pretty easy if you use fish guy and stack 3-4 rows on the right and make combos from them.

Yeah, I figured it out a bit after that post. First phase also has some really good moments to Flux Fissure when it comes to the grenades he throws so that really makes that one a lot safer. Phase 3 is really the only scary part because it's instant death if another style projectile hits you outside of EX Burst. I more or less relied on gaining the Heat during Tiger phase and then I'd wait around until he style changed, mash R2, then mash Triangle and switch as soon as I finished my combo.
Still took tons of tries, I kept dying over and over because he'd switch with multiple projectiles in the air, attack, and then I'd get shredded.

Where do I get the best darts in Zero? I bought the second best, but no other darts are being sold.

Also, how the fuck do you even aim? I'm kinda trying to aim with the "crosshair" the darts' fletching forms when you look at it from the back.
I'm guessing that the time you hold the button determines the vertical deviation. But sometimes the darts just go to the side seemingly completely randomly.

Even little friend challenges like that lady that wants to open a restaurant is fine, it has character, has development and even profit for Tak (since he now has food in his fridge and can replenish it from there).
I hate it when critiques of substories are "they aren't that funny as 0 (or whatever) was". Stories are different, they are there to show life of this weird city, they do it well. Way better than, I don't know, Kiwami's "hey, those bastards want to rob you! kick their asses!"

It's hard to explain but look at where the middle finger is on the hand. Slightly above where the nail meets the finger and below the bottom fin is roughly where you want to look, and then you need to personally gauge roughly where the center is when it moves up and down.
When it comes to throwing you want to pull down lightly and then push forward. This I can't help you with, you have to learn exactly how the throw "feels" for it to feel right, because you can instantly tell what a wrong throw feels like before you push forward.
Keep in mind if you're on PC throwing is broken, it's not supposed to be that instant and that jerky but it's still doable. Here's a quick webm I had lying around of how I usually play but I was very rusty still since I hadn't done it for a couple months by that point.

I'm definitely sure but I got the details a bit mixed up, I forgot multiple people unlocked. You do have to beat the hustlers though, the final hustler lets you buy the darts. You can only get up to Sniper Darts until you do that.

Absolutely none, even with Nanami. The only thing that happens is with your second girlfriend when she confesses and you say you want to be with her Yagami will basically go "Isn't this cheating?" but still go along with actually cheating on her, with Amane he'll question why he lied if you say he's single in the text, and with Nanami he'll have several options when she's saying she likes him to say he's leading her on and that he's lying to her. Besides that nothing, even in postgame nothing happens.
