and that's a good thing

Because random spells?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I WANTED MY GENO COSTUME

No, because he has too many different skins

because patch/dlc deadline for evo is tomorrow

Uh yes this is usually what happens in fighting games when new characters are released extremely close to tournaments user.

But why? Even if he is super broken nobody will know how to play him very well at that point.

Cant have "good" players getting knocked out early since they didn't know the match up :^)

>Showers will be Smash player illegal

this is why Competitive Smash is bullshit and just a bunch of pussy cowards. They claim they're so good but they're such shitty players they don't even know how to adapt, and have to restrict the game to make it a safe space so they can know exactly what to do, literally watering it down to baby steps for them.

True Smash players play Random Character, Random Stage, All Items, Stage Hazards on. If you don't do this you're a pussy who is so shit at the game that you aren't able to adapt to the cards you're dealt and win with whatever combo you get.

>all items
>stage hazards
everything you said until this point was right, why did you have to ruin it

>hurrrr play with items and bing bing wahoo

Because Smash is also ultimately a Party Game, not a Fighting game, and again, if you can't adapt to the pure chaos that is Hazards and Items, you don't deserve to play Smash at all. If you're so good at the game how come you have to play it on Easy Mode? Because that's literally what turning Items and Hazards off is - Easy Mode. I thought people playing on easy was highly frowned upon here? Why don't you git gud?

>smash is a party game
So how often does your girlfriend bring home a bull?

there is no "git gud" against a gust bellows, dumdum

this happens in every fighting game user, it's intended to allow the meta to stabilize.

New characters are often introduced into fighting games and assumed to be "OP" because people haven't figured out how to play against them yet, but eventually the meta evolves and they usually soar down the tier list. (See: akuma completely destroying shit in tekken 7 until people figured out to play against him).

If you let characters enter tournaments too soon after release and the meta hasn't stabilized then every thread on Yea Forums for a week would be whining that this character is overpowered.

>stage hazards

Hard fucking pass

Gust bellows is easy as fuck to deal with, though. Instakill items like the Dragoon and certain ATs are the real cancer.

You're dumb as fuck. The reason competitive Smash exists as it does today is because good players adapted TOO well, poking holes in all the mechanics casuals don't even think twice about.

The creator himself has called it a party game.

...and?

Obviously. If you allowed Hero, why would anybody play anyone else? It doesn't even matter what tier he is. He is just way too cool.

??????

adapted too well to playing without items and hazards you mean, as well as refusing to play on random. They insist on having them off because they're too shit at playing to know how to adapt to them. So what they can't adapt to, they shit their pants and cry about banning, so that they can play in their own little safe space.

Lol. Remember when Sm4sh came out and M2K got absolutely bodied by Flying Man? Life was but a moment for him haha.

>duh it party game because he say it is
>unga disregard skill ceiling and advanced mechanics

And yet they did their best to add competitive mechanics in Ultimate and overall balance the characters and the meta

retard

The deadline is for all games. Not just Smash
