It's not even a true statement, Game Freak has been fucking up since the very beginning.
Gen 1 was a mess of bugs and poor game design and Gen 2 needed Iwata to step in and fix their code to even fit all of Johto on the cartridge.
Plus their history of adding features that should become staples of the formula, and then stripping them away the next time and generally doing the bare minimum. And let's not forget how they made it a standard to release two versions of the same game AND a third version with a little bit more content. As if that wasn't enough, they eventually split that third version into two versions of its own.
That user just doesn't seem to understand that it's not "one game" that people are mad over, it's the patience from decades of goodwill being boiled over.
