In Elidibus defense, Zenos is a crazy motherfucker with the Echo.

The new life created by Zodiark would still be incomplete from what it was before Hydaelyn sundered them.
Which doesn't really matter to the Ascians since they're going to sacrifice said new life anyway to bring the Amaurotines back as they were when they were sacrificed to Zodiark.
The 13th can also still be recovered, the secret Role Quest and now the Eden questline confirms this.

The way a Shard gets too imbalanced in one aspect is when too many Crystals of Light/Darkness are formed at the same time.
The First started Flooding because Ardbert and his party all had Crystals of Light, with Ardbert finally getting his for killing Mitron and Loghrif being the tipping point.
The reverse happened on the 13th were too many people living at the same time gained a Crystal of Darkness.

They explode in a circle covering 4 squares, with the Cobalt Bomb covering 9 squares.
You want to initially position yourself near the bombs that explode last, and when the first bombs go off, move to where they are.
The first set of bombs has safe zones in the middle of the sides, and at the corners of the arena.
Second set go to either side that spawns bombs the last, and go to the center when the center bombs explode.
Third set go to the corners or the middle of a side, depending of what order he drops the sets, and move to the middle or a corner, again depending on the order of the sets.
Do all this while looking out where the Cobalt Bomb spawns so you avoid it.

Alex was the best raid because it actually made sense, had an overarching story, had elements that WEREN'T "boss in a box", etc..

No actually I think if the only similarity is one (1) mechanic then it isn't similar. if you were arguing that Leviathan was a rehash of Shinryu you would actually have a leg to stand on though since it is actually similar to that fight, unlike its original fight

I keep fishing these timeworn maps. Does anyone know what are they for and where can I use them?

you use them and it gives you a small square of a map to find, if you go there and use the dig command (under general actions) you get to fight some monsters for crafting materials, or a chance at a portal for 8man maps
or you can just sell them on the mb, they get bought up quick and go for a decentish amount
