more like succhead
amirite or amirite heehee

Dwarf Fortress. No contest.

I like Rain World, is a good gam

Jamestown was definitely a fav of mine. I miss Bullet Hells, and Jamestown fuckin knocked it out of the park for me. Retro visuals, a nice variety of ships with each ship being unique in its weapon loadouts, great levels that are still fun to play even after 50+ playthroughs, AMAZING soundtrack, a simple but interesting story. It had everything I wanted out of a Bullet Hell and more.

HIGHLY recommend any other anons who miss shit like Gradius or Touhou.

(you)? more like (((jew)))!

Shovel Knight and the Specter Knight campaign was the best one. Plague Knight's is shit

I dont play them whatsoever

I would say Undertale, but its "indieness" is questionable since it was crowdfunded.

Inside
Limbo

Since Dwarf Fortress was already mentioned, Dominions 5
cool
based
haven't played
based

lame bandwagon
could be worse though

Darkest Dungeon. Literally stressful yet comfy at the same time

absolute brainlet

I mean it's still free. Idk why you're complaining about free stuff.

ori is gay, play hollow knight if you want a real metroidvania

hollow knight obviously

I'm not complaining but Plague Knight has the shittiest jump out of the three and his story is retarded

almost got 400 hours
i'm too used to the crown of blood to the point playing without it feels underwhelming

>game backed by Microsoft game studios to the tune of a couple million
>indie
I don’t think you know what that word means you fucking retard

bro, how? i tried it, its inferior to isaac in every way

just because it's free doesn't mean he can't criticize it retard

Shovel Knight, followed by Cuphead.

Average game at best. All it did was make me want to go back and play Super Metroid.

isaac's good, but I like how fast nuclear throne is

WEEEEELLL CUPHEAD AND HIS PAL MUGMAN

Shame about the Switch port performance but apparently they'll fix it in the next update + add a 1v1 online option

To be fair, it was indie before it was bought out by microsoft shortly after E3, I think 2016.
Now though, yeah 2nd party at best.

Nex Machina

Basic bitch answer is Shovel Knight Treasure Trove. Three rock-solid 8.5/10 games for the price of one with another one and a solid-looking multiplayer mode on the way for free.

Beyond that though, there's some really good action indies that I enjoy a lot. Aces Wild, Battle Chef Brigade, Aztez, One Finger Death Punch (there's a sequel but I'm nowhere near done with the first one's content), Assault Spy, Bloodstained Curse of the Moon, Fight'N Rage, Way of the Passive Fist, Transistor, Spark The Electric Jester (haven't gotten the sequel), etc.

Factorio. Any other answer is brainlet tier

Bernd und das Rätsel um Unteralterbach

I've always wondered if Cuphead can be considered "indie" at all, it was made by a moderate studio and funded by Microsoft, it's no different from other Microsoft published titles.

n+ or geometry wars. idk if that counts as indie just remember them on xbox live arcade and nothings really beaten them for me

Tie Between Hollow Knight and The Binding of Isaac Rebirth

they only funded it a little bit. not even close to be considered publishing. besides, they don't own the rights to cuphead.

Main?

A Plague Tale: Innocence. Cutest girl protagonist and shotas.

cave story..... fucking nu/v/ zoomers

Nitro, but for fun casual play I'll go Candyman or Random (Hate getting Doombox though, I can never get the feel of his movement down on the off chance I get him)

True his hover is difficult to use even as a Doombox main

Give me one good reason why minecraft isnt objectively the greatest indie game ever made

If you want real metroid, play Environmental Station Alpha.

But what if my answer is DROD?
