The way I see it, they're replacing models and visual design that were relatively impressive for PSX hardware with something that looks like a very unimpressive early PS2 game. What's the point? Like, there are both PSX and PS2 titles that many people would even today consider visually impressive, but this remaster job will never be considered among them, and yes, part of the reason is that there's no way for people to have nostalgic feelings for these new models. has the excuse of being on hardware where the new graphics were relatively impressive; the FF8 remaster is being released on current gen consoles. Either put in the effort for it to look the part, or just give me the original experience as it was, I say.
