It has some pretty great action, but it's not only a dumb action show. There's lots of downtime to expand the world and the develop the characters.
I recommend it though, it just keeps getting better and better as the story progresses. My only complaint is that the first season has some weird pacing that makes it drag on a bit, but that won't be a problem if you're marathonning it.
