which cRPG has the most open world? I like the idea of cRPGs, but I also like modern RPGs with sandboxy open worlds with emergent gameplay, NPCs/creatures with schedules and interaction etc.
Which cRPG has the most open world? I like the idea of cRPGs...
cRPGs and open worlds don't mix you can't really have a top down perspective with a huge landmass they tend to have smaller areas filled with quests.
Witcher 3
what game?
Divinity: Original Sin 2
HEAR YE, HEAR YE!
>dog's still lying there
;_;
>cRPGs and open worlds don't mix
The fuck are you even talking about, retard?
.
divine order did nothing wrong
Witcher and TES aren't cRPGs. The OP is asking if there's "traditional" cRPGs mixed with the open world/sandbox/emergent gameplay elements of TES
That's not a real open world you click a point on the map and it goes there, any non-city areas look samey.
The open world stuff that matters is there
It's open ended but not a contemporary open world we see nowadays
Not really cRPG but Space Rangers HD: A War Apart
Even open world games have boundaries
You can go to the places that matter like an open world game
Fallout 2 also doesn't force you down a pathway and you can find or explore how you want and solve quests in any order
I'm a little sad that not many games attempt to sim proper "living" worlds with dynamic, A.I driven NPCs/creatures. I get it, it's not easy to create this type of A.I, it's performance heavy and the casual audience don't really care for it. But still, I was more games tried it. There was a phase in the around mid 2000s with studios trying it, like Oblivion & stalker but not much since.
I'd love to see a cRPG that tried to mix it in someday.
Ultima 5. Freedom and great plot.
Darklands.
>Fallout 2
>Open world.
Not only have RPGs used world maps as a means of going from one point to another since fucking computers couldn't handle more than 8 colors, making your reference to Fallout 2 - not even the original, that worked the same, but the sequel -, a clear signal that you're an insecure retard trying to gain creed by referencing a beloved game buried by more popular trends (Bethesda's own Fallout games), but it seems that you also fail to grasp the term open world, which defines a kind of game, design and mechanics not only clearly detailed but also widely used during this and last generation.
tl:dr: You're a retard.
Fallout 2 is open world and I'm glad that it makes you seethe
>N-n-no, it has to simulate actual walking from place to place in a huge 3D environment or it doesn't count!!!1
how is it not open world
Also just so you have an idea of what isn't open world: Deus Ex
A very linear game and clearly not open world
Meanwhile Fallout 2 is open world, so suck a dick.
