>visit family for the summer >8 year old cousins are playing vidya >its fornite >they have no idea who mario, sonic, link, solid snake, steve, master chief, or crash are >when they're not playing fortnite, all they do is watch fortnite twitch streams
When I was young, I probably didn't know what a floppy disk is, I had to see one to know, why would a little kid know who solid snake is? And because you probably found out about them when you were a little kid, you think he, a child who is growing up when they're not quite "all the rage" anymore, will by default know them without seeing them, the only reason you probably know them is because you got to see them when they were at peak popularity.
Their just kids, let them enjoy what they like. Also I really fucking doubt they don’t even know who Mario is, this is probably bait.

>they have no idea who mario, sonic, link, solid snake, steve, master chief, or crash are
Literally boomer-tier characters from dead games, go back to the 90's gramps
Christopher Anderson
>they have no idea who mario, sonic, link, solid snake, steve, master chief, or crash are so they don't know your autistic mascots

>weird older cousin visits us >he smells funny like he doesnt shower >stares at us weird and touches himself >were having fun playing fortnite and he freaks out about someone named Mehrio >brings mood down >whole family is embarrassed
Samuel Stewart
Thank god I'm saving my nephew by teaching him the ways of a Smasher. And yet he still clings to FIFA as if it were the best game ever.

Assuming 'kid.jpg' is OPs cousin and not a random pic from Google.

>they have no idea who mario, sonic, link, solid snake, steve, master chief, or crash are Some kids don't know who Mario is. Ok. You know, I have cousins who literally aren't allowed to play video games, and their mom is so autistic she doesn't even let them play at friend's houses with video games. Even they know about Mario, dude.
>they have no idea who mario, sonic, link, steve, are Good. Those things need to be put into the grave already.

I mean in my experience 90's kids are familiar with loony toons, or Tom and Jerry, or the flintstones and jetsons. And then theres all of the 80,s action flicks like terminator and robocop that just about everyone knew
Not being familiar with household game icons seems a little odd to me
Kayden Green
why?

Why do you want ANOTHER Mario, Zelda, Crash, etc game? It's like having the same fucking movie every year
Ryan Thompson
90s kids were more open minded these zoomers don't really know anything that exists before the year 2000 if not 2010
William Taylor
My brother and cousin were like that, until i showed them other games.
Resident Evil 7, REmake, Spyro, Crash, Portal, FighterZ, and Sonic Mania were a few i showed them, now i see them trying new shit.
Oliver Martin
video games are repetitive by Nature so I don't get this argument
The funny thing is when I was a freshman in HS, Halo 3 just came out later that year and we all played it religiously. It was MW2 or Halo 3. For this generation, it's Fortnite.
>when I was a freshman in HS, Halo 3 just came out later that year and we all played it religiously. It was MW2 or Halo 3 Jesus fucking christ, and you people call others zoomers.
Connor Stewart
The gameplay should be repetitive, the characters not
Connor Bennett
Halo 3 is 12 years old
Isaiah Taylor
What's taking its place?

My parents dont even let my 10 yo bro play fortnite

>be English teacher in Spain >last week had new students >they introduced themselves then talked to each other >¿Juegas el Fornai, tio? (do you play Fortnite, mate?) >I cut the chatter and start class >they mention Fortnite at every chance they get >"Fornai is the best game in the world" >asks if I agree >I say Doom classic is >"Tenemos un profe gamer!" (we have a gamer teacher) >they dab every time they get an answer right Well I lost them, fuck it
I was born in '92, so I am a millennial. Also, I grew up with my cousins who were born in the 80's, so I grew up on the Super Nintendo, n64, and PlayStation.
