Can we all agree that this is overhyped garbage?
Can we all agree that this is overhyped garbage?
Can't think of anything better that's coming out anytime soon
no
/thread
I don't know, the game is not our yet
I think they might have been slightly over ambitious with this. I predict it won't be fallout 4 bad, but it won't measure up to the witcher series
I agree with this post
>dude look at all the celebrities we put in!
>uh gameplay? what's that?
If that's not a huge red flag I don't know what is
turning it into an FPS was the first sign it was shit, now pandering to trannies and negroids, yup that's a yikes for me.
there's one fucking hour of gameplay on youtube
what a fuck do you want
would you rather it be an RTS or a card trading game?
There is 1(one) celebrity and an hour of gameplay out.
No
gamescom soon
I don't know, I get this feeling when I watch the gameplay that there's a disconnect between what I'm seeing and what's being promised. Let's face it though, if they don't make the story really, really good it's going to be very generic.
Everything that has even the slightest bit of passion and work put into it these days is enormously overhyped. It looks fine, if I get some spare cash left over from other hobbies I'll buy it and I do greatly appreciate that at least so far CDPR has avoided turning their mainline games into trash with shitboxes and mobile phone gacha shit.
Don't pick such a kino screenshot to prove your point
...
For them to fucking show us all the super secret journo footage
They said they want to add more.
What even is the argument for third person being better? I feel like it creates an unnecessary disconnect.
Being a contrarian for the sake of fitting in.
Yep thats a yikes from me!
Yes.
This isn't going to be the tortanic of your generation, stop trying to force it.
the only thing i really dislike is that they didnt make it look bladerunner/altered carbon-ish.
>inb4 "muhh generic"
it fucking isnt. There is not a single fucking game out there who gets this setting right.
>DIS NOT BLOODBORNE, DIS BAD
No.
Nah.
I keep hearing people from both sides bitching and moaning about how generic it is visually when I haven’t seen a a single piece of media that looks too similar
How the fuck should I know, the game isn't out yet faggot.
I'll let you know when I've played the game.
>set in future West Coast America
>full of trannies and niggers
I don't know user, that sounds pretty accurate to me.
So is Bannerlord
Except the game is based upon an already established franchise/world with an already established style and aesthetic you blithering fucking retard.
We can,the shills won't
It's almost like the creator of Cyberpunk said Blade Runner was his main inspiration or something
It was an inspiration, but he didn't make the world into Blade Runner you idiot.
... says OP, not even having played the game
OP is a faggot
Then it is the source material to blame, not CDPR for sticking to it.
CDPR said they were creating a 100% faithful adaptation
It will be great and I can't wait to be a lesbian futa hacker
Maybe you can be patient like an andult instead of whining like a child for once?
I know, it's a shame Keanu was not popular in 1988.
Yeah. With shit tweets like this
Just further proof that they're relying on fake hype to sell a game nobody asked for
>American employees not being the biggest redflag you need
I stopped caring when I saw it was first person only.
I have no idea. I haven't played it yet.
no one in your family probably asked for you to be born but here you are, being a drain on them and society like the useless fucking nigger you are
everything is overhyped
none of it is as good as they say
Did I hit a nerve? Is BASED Keanu that important to you?
Seethe, commie. You're not entitled to my contribution.
Every fucking day, jesus christ.
>we all
who ?
People who expect companies to live up to their promises, Americans.
i'm just surprised at how bad the game looks, I would have figured it would match the witcher levels of graphics but they seem to not push it as much anymore
>they
>measure up to the witcher series
I think futuristic settings attract more people than fantasy. Also, you compare one (1) game to a series based on established history. No one but some shady guy on the internet ever heard of the Cyberpunk universe.
All that considered, I think the game will be a solid piece of video games as long as the story is interesting enough. And I doubt they won't make it at least another trilogy.
>They don't have to create faithful adaptation because normies won't know the difference
Isn't that an extremely scummy thing to do?
The combat looks decent unlike wicher 's. Albo, their original content was better that what they based on books, so I guess story and characters might be superior too
It was one hour of bullet hell and meat bag NPCs, if I wanted that I'd play doom. I was expecting valuable ammo and intelligent NPCs since it's their first FPS and they wanted to do it right.
i dont fucking care. the current asthetic isnt bad or anything but bladerunner/altered carbon style beats it by a mile
Thats what i mean. Its not just games. You barely see cyberpunk anywhere in media. Its only recently its gaining popularity. Bladerunner 2049 and Altered Carbon are the only good cyberpunk shows/movies i have seen.
i noticed that too. The city design and everything is nice, but the textures itself are fucking PS2 tier.
fucking why?
I didn't imply that at all, don't know where you took that quote from. But I have nothing against improving established material. Some things are just simply too old and need a a polish, others may be incomplete. For instance, Lord of the Rings is very limited, the only detailed piece of the world is Middle Earth, like 90% is an empty map. Does that mean no one should ever try to make a game or movie that expands on it? I think that would be wasteful. I'm all for respecting the source material, but being artistically protecting of the original material only limits the possibilities.
Campaign games are fucking dead, they literally are just:
>go here, pick this
>go here, kill that
>go there, check some clues, solve a puzzle
it's an RPG :^)
>artistically
*autistically
>Altered Carbon
Found out about it by accident, cause I don't watch TV. One of the best things I ever watched, well, half of it anyway, the second half turned to complete shit for a bunch of reasons.
But the aesthetic is literally unique, I don't think there's a movie out there that did world design better than this show.
Action-adventure story*
its literally one of my top 3 shows i have ever watched.
what didnt you like about the end? i hear alot of people complain about how the story progressed, but what makes the show great for me are the charackters. It overshadows everything imo. I still like the ending though, because of covacs sister
They're not mutually exclusive, look at Fallout 4.
I figure it's because a dense, bustling city is much more taxing than the relatively sparse woods, hills and other landscape of Witcher 3 was. And the game still has to run relatively okay on the same platforms that Witcher 3 was on, and TW3 already pushed the consoles past the breaking point. They probably don't want to repeat the situation where it took them like 6 or so months of patching just to get the framerate to a "stable" 30 on consoles.
are the gameplay clips/demos we see from cyberpunk so far played on console?
Overhyped? Yes
Garbage? No
Should you care? No
Day 1 pirate? Yes
>altered carbon
>good
O I'm lawlin'
No they are not. For example last years 45-ish minute demo, the one that's on their Youtube channel right now, was played on a very high-end PC, at 1080p/30fps. 1080ti and a i7-7700k, iirc.
>the charackters
The first half of the show is great, cause its basically an action pact detective thriller. You have the protag, who's like a war veteran with a complicated past that is hired to solve a murder. And the show works extremely well until that plot loses its focus.
Breaking point was around when the sister appeared, her plotline was totally unnecessary, it felt so shoved it after a while I was baffled why they did it, they had a very solid story going, which was ruined by the sister part. If they wanted to implement a climax for the protags past, they should have used some old enemy of his to do so, not pull the whole bullshit with his sister who is secretly the most powerful person who controls everything. Me not liking the actress at all didn't help.
Another thing was the small subplot with the daughter of that black guy, the guy was alright, but the the progression of his daughter from a rape or beating victim into some female power fantasy super killer women was completely retarded and over the top, I don't think I saw anything more edgy than that. Also, her actress too was absolutely horrendous and she looked like a baboon.
I'm sure there where many other things, like the too long flashback sequences, that annoyed me, but its too long since I watched it, so I don't remember. I was extremely disappointed during the second half, so much that I actually didn't even care to look if a second season was planned, cause at that point the utter incompetence was clear as day.
>Over ambitious
Do you newfag zoomers just use words without knowing what they mean? It's an RPG with some more choices than Witcher 3, guns, in the future. It's not ambitious at all. That isn't to say it's bad as I am hyped for it, but seriously there is nothing outrageous about what they're promising.
How is removing elements and streamlining to the detriment of the overall quality to appeal to mass audiences "improving established material"?
>Noir and generic sci fi
>Cyberpunk
Nigger this is why you don't see cyberpunk, because you don't know what the fuck it is. Maybe if you weren't so goddamn ignorant you would notice all the actual cyberpunk shit floating around.
>Removing elements
Like what?
I mean for starters they thought it was appropriate to not call it an RPG anymore.
>removing elements and streamlining to the detriment
Never said anything about it, are you people illiterate or on drugs? Of course its easy to fuck up an established universe, I'm talking about improving on something.
An example: in Star Wars episode 1 George Lukas famously implemented the dialog about "medicloroformian" or some shit that are responsible for giving Jedi their powers. Imagine if Lukas didn't bury this shit himself after he realized that he completely fucked up the mysticism of the Jedi. It would be original lore. Now, I wouldn't have minded if someone took over the franchise and completely removed the shit about this medioclores things, cause they fucking suck shit. That would be an improvement of a fictional universe.
So, no, changing something isn't bad. Bad changes are bad. That's why I said you should respect the original material, but that doesn't mean that everything is sacred and can't be touched.
both the quest director and lead quest designers assured people its still an RPG first and foremost, so not sure where do we go from here
If it's still an RPG why did they change its official description. It's a very simple question.
No
So who is this miracle worker that not only creates a faithful adaptation but also improves established lore?
>why did they change its official description
your best bet is asking them directly on twitter
here's the quest director saying its an rpg yesterday
(don't bother replying if you're gonna shift this into rainbow flag discussion)
pawel sasko (lead quest designer) also said its an rpg a while ago
me, cause every change I make would be in my interest
Why would the official description and the lead quest designer say opposite things? Isn't this guy notorious for saying things he shouldn't?
>I think futuristic settings attract more people than fantasy.
You would be wrong.
prove it
It's an RPG still.
They lied about witcher 3 on pc not being downgraded months before the release. Once the game was out, they came publicly and admitted it. The polish toilet cleaners lied before and will keep lying again.
Not by their accounts
What part of "Our game is still first and foremost RPG" you don't understand?
>retarded discussion based on shaky evidence and assumptions
When will you Yea Forumsirgins get a live and stop arguing over 1s and 0s?
Why did so many people pre-order it?
Can't they just wait until the reviews come in and hear if it's worth the money or not, like normal humans?
>Why did so many people pre-order it?
They didn't, it's a marketing strategy. It was something like 4th in preorders from revealed games at E3, that's pretty low considering how few games there were.
Take a marketing class my friend.
Why did they change the official description then?
>waiting for reviews
>4th in preorders
......at gamestop
Because they didn't know you were such a humongous sperg.
Isn't that false advertising though?
nope
No, just you having an autism.
Hey guys, it's me Keanu Reeves. I changed my mind about working with CD Projekt Red. Please cancel all your Cyberpunk 2077 preorders and put that money into Fallout 76 so you can play the new Battle Royale game mode which is actually the sequel to John Wick's adventures in Fortnite!
But saying something is something else is false advertising
Collectors editions have already run out on several regions.
You saying something is proving your autism.
They were sold out is like a day or two weren't they? There weren't that many at all.
No I'm pretty sure it's false advertising. I'm glad you're so accepting of CDPR's willingness to not give a straight answer after 7 years.
Fantasy franchises make more money and are more popular that Science Fiction franchises?
I do not know how I can fit decades of sales data into a Yea Forums post.
Game has action, it has adventure and it has story, so calling it action adventure story is not false advertising.
You were given straigth answer, you're just too retarded to understand it.
They literally say it's an RPG, have shown off stats and multiple choice routes. What do you think it is, a soccer game?
Is LOTR bigger than star wars?
Changing the official description a year before it releases is false advertising.
Then how about you sue them instead of crying about it on internet like a little faggot.
Since when are stats what makes a game an RPG?
>Hasn't stopped being either of those things
>F-False a-advertisement!
Kek
Maybe I would if there weren't cocksuckers that would throw me off a bridge for suggesting they aren't the best developer in the west.
>Fallout 4
>RPG
ok, bud
Yes, no longer promising an RPG like they have for the past 7 years is false advertising.
star wars is practically fantasy dude
>ALTERED CARBON!.... GOOD.....
Holy shit that show had potential that it fucking wasted because it has no understanding of its source material and no faith in the setting. That you put it in your mouth and didn't spit it back out instantly means you pretty much have no taste or are a pleb who doesn't read.
What does this have to do with suing them? ;)
They're literally promising an RPG :)
If they change the official description of the game they are no longer obligated to deliver on that promise
>i dont fucking care.
And I don't fucking care what you think, the game is set in Cyberpunk 2020 and it's universe, not your diarrhea wet dream of what you think a Cyberpunk game should look like. Also, ""Altered Carbon good"" ahahahahahaahahaha
>pre-ordering
people who do this are bad
>game is about cyborgs and being able to costumize yourself in whatever way you imagine
>everyone looks like a mutt
yeah, im no buying this trash
Star Wars is about space samurai that use magic to move objects with their minds. Fantasy with spaceships is still fantasy.
If you disagree i'm certain the eager users of /tg/ or Yea Forums would be happy to yell at you for being dumb.
B-BUT LASERS AND ROBOTS!
Are Fallout 3+ an FPS now?
they are games where you shoot guns from the first person perspective, yes
Fallout 3 and new vegas are casual pieces of shit but they're still RPGs
That's not how anything works kid.
I can agree that it's overhyped. I don't think it will be irredeemable garbage, but ever since that first trailer people have been talking this game up and at this point, it's just impossible for it to live up to the hype. There's gonna be bugs, or bad writing, or bad combat somewhere. The normies are gonna deny any flaws with it for about a year but eventually people are gonna cool off on it and start accepting that it ain't perfect. RDR2 had the same thing happen.
On the contrary. It's underhyped, bros.
Changing a product description doesn't change the obligations of the producer or the product's ability to deliver advertised elements?
Are you alright Keanu? You're not blinking.
>Twitter
>official description
Yes and Trek is sci-fi because it lacks laser swords. Nice non argument. Not even appealing to authority, appealing to autism and mental illness
"Greetings. We have decided to cancel your credit card because of your past comments on social media. Have a good day and don't sue us"
Yes the official description of the game has been changed on twitter, you know, the website where 25% of all people has an account?
Why'd they have to fuck up Altered Carbon with a happy ending? That shit was dumb.
yeah Death Stranding is gonna be a disaster fucking Kojima still assblasted about being fired
Twitter is a shitposting site with no real information.
Twitter is one of the largest free advertising sites on the planet
Why did you repeat the post you're quoting?
Why does Yea Forums seethe so hard over this game?
Why are you pretending to be retarded?
>Bladerunner 2049 and Altered Carbon are the only good cyberpunk shows/movies I have seen
Understandable considering your age
Because niggas are mad a game can have a well deserved amount of hype
It's a typical US action game larping as an RPG, made by lying toilet cleaners. It's gta 5 with punk haircuts and metal. It's not gonna come close to Deus Ex 1 , be it rpg or cyberpunk looks.
It's the normiest interpretation of rpg and cyberpunk as it can get. They're playing it safe and dumbing it down , otherwise if it was an RPG, most normies would quit the game 4 hours in since they messed up their stats.
But there's DRUGS MAAAAN how can it be normie if there's DRUGS and HOOKERS?!
Wait a minute....
How can I give my opinion on something that I have yet to finish a single playthrough of ?
Because I was hype as fuck at first and every reveal is just making it look worse and worse. It's disappointing.
Uhh
(you)
>implying he's not right
Bitch harder. Geraldo 3 wasn't RPG either. They're just Rockstar copy cats.
