A twist towards the late game reveals a bittersweet ending for the protagonist
>Game has the perfect ending and still decides to keep going ruining it's legacy in the progress
The Last Guardian's ending is basically Jurassic Bark's
space sneed
why
Halo 3
>game ends with a perfect ending that ties up all loose ends and leaves no possibility for a sequel- the story is told
>sequel released focusing on fan service and free of poignant moments
Makes me want to re-watch futurama again, where can I watch it nowadays?
The dog didn't die alone
Either watch "Benders Big Score" or check this: A paradox double of fry was sent back to 2000 which lived in the past for 12 years before bender was sent back to assassinate him, the blast from the assassination attempt is what caused the dog to be "fast fossilised".
Post cancellation retcon.
It's on Hulu now. In a few years it will likely end up on the Disney streaming service of all things. With the Fox purchase they will own the rights and they apparently wanted to purchase Fox for it's extensive library of movies and shows for streaming. Futurama is one of the most streamed television shows so it's likely it was one of the things they are interested in it.
Wasn't it from one of the movies that came out shortly after the original series? I guess that does technically count as post-cancellation but it's not like it came from the zombie era of the show.
I liked Benders big score but hated this retcon. OP pic and Jurassic bark showed there was real consequences for Fry's decision for leaving his past behind. It was shit but not without people who cared for him.
Makes Fry's choice that much harder as he'd lose loved ones regardless of which side he chose
Mafia 1
New Futurama wasn't as good but it had a few episodes I like enough that I rewatch. All the emotional ones fall flat but some like the one where Bender keeps making 2 copies of himself feel like classic episodes.
See I always disliked the original ending because the entire premise that he shouldn't revive Seymour was based on a misunderstanding. What you are saying isn't even really true because Fry isn't aware of the impact of his decision, he came to the wrong conclusion. That's why I always assumed they retconned it, it felt sad with no purpose.
>All the emotional ones fall flat
Because they were pretty much carbon copies of the emotional episodes that worked in the original seasons. You could see a mile away what they were trying to pull on you.
Yeah exactly. The one that kind of worked for me was the one with his dad but even that one it's exactly as you said, you see it coming a mile away.
FFXIII
Like what the actual fuck were the sequels.
See The Why of Fry. This takes place after The luck of the fryish and Fry already knows people would miss him. The dog he didn't but it's still a conscious choice he makes
>Game has a lore reason for save points
>The dog he didn't but it's still a conscious choice he makes
Yeah but that's my point. He already made that decision in other episodes. They already made that point. Now they do it again but it has less impact because Fry actually completely misunderstood what really happened. It makes it worse that one of the reasons you know they couldn't have him revive Seymour was because Futurama is the kind of show where everything needed to go back to the same at the end of an episode. It cheapens the emotional impact and ultimately like you said, they did that plot line already, twice. And those times Fry actually makes an informed decision/realization not one that's incorrect.
