Though it is more of a visual novel then a game.
Basically entirely being about going on this wonderful journey and learning about the characters with some sports-game-like gameplay in between thats mostly just there to effect the plot depending on if you win or lose. You can lose every match and still get a 100% fleshed-out ending.

It is max comfy with great art and a well-written story about freedom. But it is lacking in actual gameplay.

I actually refused to play this game because the art was so shit, especially compared to the beauty of Transistor and Bastion.

It definitely wasnt marketed as much as Bastion or Transistor. The Hades trailer only says

Same, something about it really clicked with me.

Is Hades any good? I haven't touched it thanks to the double up of early acess and egs exclusive.

It has by far the best gameplay of any supergiant game. Seriously top-notch stuff the best elements of Bastion and Transistor combined.
The story isnt really present outside of character introductions (the characters are fun with lovely designs and great voice-acting. Memorable.) though because its in early access. When it releases in the first half of 2020 they'll add in story content. I recommend waiting until then.

Hades is a timed exclusive, right? In the vein of most 3rd PS games for the past decade or so?
I really don't want to deal with Epic, so I can wait but I do like these devs.
