Problem with your story is that if you didnt' have a GP kart, you'd be missing 15% (combined 10% from kart and 5% from kart-specific decal) instead.
Only way to get 40% specifically is to forego 2 different 5% items (such as decal+paint or wheels+paint) or to use a GP bonus skin but for a character other than the nitro squad (racer crunch, pharaoh cortex).

Every item with a little green icon at the top left is an "exclusive" item, but remember user, all these items, even if you don't get them, WILL be on pit stop after the event. The only thing, that you can miss out on, is the %car and decal. Even the nitro boost bar, like the final reward, tawna, will be on pit stop. No panic or anything

Classic Sewer Speedway is the GOAT track of all kart games, but Newer Speedway is trash with the wonky shortcut and without the old halfpipe mechanics. The CNK tracks are fine except for Inferno Island which is as dull as Crash Cove and Coco Park.

by far the most high iq part of this game is manipulating the track vote

I've never seen a Cortex win a race online. In fact I've seen more Krunks win simply because there's a tryhard who dunks on lobbies as Krunk

they should change the "time until race ends" timer to work based on the map

if you get uninterrupted usf on twilight tour for instance you can easily dnf entire lobbies
