Would you rather it not get released vs what we actually got?
Would you rather it not get released vs what we actually got?
Of course not, you zoomers are fucking insane.
>waaah game is not the perfect product I imagined in my head for three years so game bad
The absolute state of MGS brainlets and hypefags
The real tragedy is that Konami has that magnificent fox engine and no plans to utilize it.
Fucking this. They could make MG1 and 2 remakes with Kief playing Big Boss and Hayter playing Solid and they're still not doing it.
Fucking retards. They spent resources on Survive bullshit instead
Sure, the hype and the trailers were better than the game.
It hurts man, imagine the potential with getting full on remakes of MG1 and 2.
Phantom Pain was a very good open world stealth action shootan game and the crap story doesn't negate that, but I do wonder how Yea Forums would deify Ground Zeroes if TPP got canceled. People would seriously worship that thing.
No they weren't. TPP was amazing.
I wish Japs weren't butt-fuck retarded and actually tried to make the FOB shit into a MMO and a proper game.
Why the absolute fuck would anyone think modern Konami remaking MG1/2 would be a good thing? MG1 and 2 don't even need to be remade, period. They're perfectly fine as they are.
No because Ground Zeroes was great, but I wish I hadn't been hyped at all.
>game journos can't play game
>throw in batman vision
>not good enough yet
>throw in slow mo time
>not good enough
>throw in aim assist
>not enough
>tranq dart best gun and first gun you get
>still not good enough
>make it so you can't fail any mission unless you die
Anybody that played with all of these on didn't even play the fucking game the game just played itself while they watched.
>they're perfectly fine
Not plot wise. They've been retconned to hell and back
Ground Zeroes was literally one of the bigger TPP missions but cut from the game. It shares almost all of the problems of the main game, including most story being in fucking casette tapes.
>Actually wanting things to change to suit the retcons
The original plots were better. The retcons were almost all retarded.
>MMO
>Proper game
pick one
They tried to utilize it, but everyone lost their shit and called them hacks and thieves. You lot should have appreciated Survive! for what it was.
How does any of it, in any way, affects a hardcore stealth action gamer such as yourself?
They hardly had plots to begin with. Especially MG1
If TPP was a bunch of connected GZs, everyone would have loved it. Camp Omega had more shit to do than any mission in the entirety of TPP and in terms of story there were also a lot of cutscenes for just one level.
Survive was legitimately garbage on it's own. Wave defense is one of the most boring game types imaginable.
I liked it, why do people shit on it so hard?
It could have been done.
Each FOB would be like a server, ah forget it, it's not happening.
It's sad how wasted all the potential of V was. I wanted some kind of make-your-own PMC simulator since playing MGO2. Now they had the chance to do it and did fucking nothing.
Exactly. The FOB shit begged to be expanded upon, it would fit so well with the themes of the game and they could even meme it into some kind of Reddit thought experiment will the playerbase wipe eachother with nukes or disarm them on average.
Everything is so incomplete.
Peace Walker and V in general are unnecessary. Gameplay aside.
Why didn't Konami make their battlegrounds game with the new engine? It would be fun.
I like it for what it is. The stoey as a whole is a mess, but a lot of individual great moments.
are their any games similar to TPP in terms of building your own army and making a man for yourself?
a
I'm happy with what I got, I just wish there were more interesting side ops and that the game didn't fall apart on Chapter 2.
I was also hoping that most of the interesting scenes weren't in the trailers, but what can you do. I hope Death Stranding doesn't fall in the same boat.
I guess Assassins creed brotherhood maybe?
Death Stranding is going to suck because Kojima doesn't have anyone to reign him in anymore.
>Camp Omega had more shit to do than any mission in the entirety of TPP
The fuck are you talking about?
Remakes are a shitty idea. I really don't see the appeal in them whatsoever.
The basic plot beats haven't been contradicted at all, though. OILIX is weird and probably hasn't been retained in Kojima's view of the story, but it's not that essential to Metal Gear 2 either; it's just a flourish that helps justify Zanzibarland's threat. Gray Fox's relationship with Big Boss hasn't been retconned. Big Boss's goals and motivations certainly haven't been retconned. What do you think is so hard to square with subsequent games?
No, it’s part of MGS history and Hideo’s vision. Even if it sucked, I wouldn’t interfere with what the art became. Lessons have been learned, for both creators and consumers.
MGS had a good run. We got 4 fantastic games,1-4. Peacewalker it started to go downhill, but still a decent CO-OP game and it had its moments. And then it fizzled out with MGSV. That’s really not bad, 4 great games, 1 meh, and one turd.
I had a great time with the series. I will always cherish 1-4, play them from time to time. The actual finale, MGS4, was great. Just because the last game sucked doesn’t ruin the entirety of the series.
It was great, stop begging for sequels, or Konami remakes (yuck), just move on. Plenty of other stuff to play. Let it go.
Reign him into what, into making another shitty movie like MGS1, 2 and 3?
Fuck that, I rather another game with almost no story but focused on the gameplay than the trash he has released so many times already.
Americans are incapable of understanding that things sometimes end.
The idiots here keep asking for more MGS games even though it has lived long enough to see itself become an unironic zombie survival game.
I want MGS6
I want MGS7
Nah. It's still pretty good. Better than anything else released in the series since MGS3. There are a handful of things I like more about PW and even MGS4, but on the whole MGSV is a vastly more interesting game. In the wake of Portable Oops and MGS4 I never expected to get a game as good as MGSV, and I have plenty of issues with MGSV too make no mistake.
Epic as hell.
Hope you enjoy the next MGS Overwatch clone and the MGS Battle Royale, which, of course, you are going to say that they are great ideas.
>more interesting
There's nothing there to be interested in. You can say the gamplay is better but anything else is a lie.
Actually I am American, not sure if the problem is rooted from here. But I do see people want things to run forever instead of having a complete story. The longer it goes on the more chance of it becoming shite, and that’s what happened with MGS.
I don’t know why people can’t just enjoy complete stories that end. MGS certainly ran its course.
MGSV is a lot more interesting to me on a thematic level than any game in the series since MGS2. The plot itself is a mess, and that KojiPro chose to tie such heady and emotional themes to a game without much of a narrative is bizarre and a mistake, but it's still more interesting than MGS4's fanwank bonanza or PW's PEACE PEACE PEACE PEACE PEACE PEACE.
There's always the chance that worst case scenario Death Stranding is basically Prequels-era George Lucas writing since he's given complete control, but at the same time there's something about the world that interests me, especially since unlike MGSV Kojima is being more secretive about it.
>retarded camera angles during cutscenes: the game
what was he thinking? did he unironically sit down in meetings and briefs with 3d artists and detail out those cutscene camera angles to them?
also
>all enemies have to be female
kojima desperately needs to have sex
He's being weirdly secretive about it. MGSV was overwhelmingly transparent after the brief Mogren ruse. Death Stranding comes out in a few months yet we still hardly know anything about its design priorities. I don't know if it's a red flag, but I do wonder if there will be backlash when the game that arrives doesn't match what people had fantasized about it being.
Absolutely. V as it is now is still a watered down Peace Walker with mobile game elements. The trailers, music, and some of the art are the only things good about it.
>only a perfect life is worth living
have fun with that
To be honest I think Kojima is being more secretive probably to keep expectations low after how much hype MGSV had, hype it could not at all live up to. It's either that or he wants players to gather together and learn things as they play. Or in a worst case scenario, the game is incredibly short, Kojima showed off the most interesting aspects already, or it's more of an arthouse-tier title than something meant to appeal to a mass market.
>MGSV
>"I'm ''''officially'''' LARPing Big Boss: the game"
>Big Boss is apparently still a nice, friendly, kindhearted, sweet and generous guy, he doesn't see us through the Medic as tools but rather precious human beings, and he as a meta deity selflessly let us through the Medic LARP him because we "wanted, wished and dreamed to for many years"
>The game only has a story to provide a template for your Big Boss LARP stories and cover up the fact that the game is entirely meta, and that it's only reason for existence is "Big Boss LARPing"
>The trailers only exist to show an example of a Big Boss LARP story made with said template
>The game barely has any LARPing mechanics, and the only one that's notable is a shitty avatar creator
Kojima is a hack fraud, MGSV shouldn't have been released.

HIT THE LEVER
I’m honestly convinced that it is deliberately shit. Mad Lad Kojima wanted to convey the feeling of phantom pain and he designed a game to do just that to the fans of the games. MgsV literally has everything to be the ultimate mgs, and yet what made the other games special is missing. When I look back at it and really think of the way the game makes me feel it makes sense.
That being said I ducking hate it and I wish it hadn’t been released. I’d rather not know what having my dick get cut off and yet be able to feel someone stabbing it feels like
it was far from perfect but the game play was stellar. I played it exclusively for about 80 hours total before playing something else
Fuck no, it's incredibly flawed but that game changed the way I view life and I'll always cherish my experience with it.
MGSV was good though.
