oh god, I use telehacks on private servers to build cash that way. Not the fastest, but you get tons of rare enchanting recipes, really nicely stated greens, and other shit. What a shit show that would be.
The only people getting "hyped" by streamers are the tourists who are gonna quit before even reaching 40 which isn't even half of the way to 60 exp-wise. Anybody with an actual vested interest in the game had it long before the beta was a thing and when most streamers were still against the idea of classic.

Here's the problem with your conclusion user. WoW classic is banking on nostalgia. And original WoW was released in late 2004. Lets call that 2005. 14 years ago. If you were playing that when you were 5 years old then you're 19 now and hopefully out of highschool. If you're in college or military service then you just have more time to play video games. Ask anyone.
More likely they scheduled it in just a way where they could hype and kill it just in time for their latest patch and the hype will return when classic releases. Trust me. They want your money. They want the classic resubs. They aren't setting it up to fail.
