you sound like you've never played a metroid-vania type game before. It's not that bad
it's the dark souls death system except geo stops mattering after the first couple hours

I think the most I ever lost was like 5k. I dont even remember what I was doing when I died.
Thankfully expensive geo purchases only happen later on in the game. It's unlike the souls series where you need the resources to level up so the resources (soul) are important early on.
300 geo is nothing. The first time I lost geo it was a loss of 2000.
