This is the hardest fucking game I've ever played. yes I'm a filthy casual. Jesus christ I've never played a game that punishes you so much for dying.
>exploring >300+ geo >know I should go back to town and buy some stuff but keep exploring >stumble into a boss fight >die >no fucking idea where I was >300 geo gone which took like an hour to collect
it's the dark souls death system except geo stops mattering after the first couple hours
Ayden Lopez
>300 geo which took a long time to collect >mfw at the end game, walking around with 20k+ geo and absolutely nothing to buy anymore
I think the most I ever lost was like 5k. I dont even remember what I was doing when I died.
Christopher James
Thankfully expensive geo purchases only happen later on in the game. It's unlike the souls series where you need the resources to level up so the resources (soul) are important early on.
Christopher Adams
300 geo is nothing. The first time I lost geo it was a loss of 2000.
Josiah Bennett
>geo stops mattering after the first couple hours Not if you're saving up for all the charms and their unbreakable versions it doesn't.
Bentley Allen
I think its hardness is a little overrated, but it is very easy to get lost and get stumped on what you have to do next
Andrew Price
I was going to buy the geo collecting thing, so I don't have to bother with collecting/losing money to spikes and acid. and the recovery one. is it worth it?
Nolan Brooks
Yeah, I kept that shit on the whole game.
Zachary Thomas
>have to sacrifice upgrade points just to SEE WHERE YOU ARE ON THE FUCKING MAP i like the game but come on man
its really convenient but if you dash through a loading screen too quickly sometimes the bugs carrying the geo won't reach you in time
Adrian Barnes
geo collecting charm is THE best quality of life charm. I definitely recommend it if you're struggling to collect geo.
Ian Wilson
its 1 slot and you can just not use it when your going after bosses.
Angel Perez
I can understand that, OP. Losing Geo in this game seems far more punishing than losing Souls in Dark Souls because of how much longer it takes to grind out Geo and the fact that you can easily die on your way back to get your stuff. Thankfully I didn't die a ton in regular world traversal so I didn't have too much of a problem with it but I can definitely see how it would be unforgiving for someone who is dying a lot. I really thought it was a pretty good game though so I'd say keep going if you can. I recommend using the compass and buying the pen so you can fill the map in yourself and know where you're at. Also try to find The Hive so you can get a charm that may make things a little easier for you.
First time I lost Geo was like at 8k in the deepnest, sucked
Hudson Perry
>geo What are you retards buying? There is never a time when you need to farm geo unless you want the unbreakable charms and you could get all 36000 geo you need in less than an hour at that point. By the time you need the lantern 1800 is nothing. It’s really not a big deal to lose your geo
Nicholas Jones
>exploring deepnest >wow this place sure is creepy I can't wait to see what kind of boss is before the dreamer >sit on the webbed bench >oh shit this is tense >wake up >find dreamer 20 seconds later oh ok...
Christian Taylor
>300 geo user, that's literally nothing.
Xavier Perez
The last stretch was kinda brutal but it took me an hour and change overall. Perfect level of difficulty imo one of my favorite parts of the game
Gabriel Hughes
Hollow Knight is totally do-able compared to actual From Soft games where you have to tread through the same fucking corridor almost every time you die. At least HK affords you the opportunity to go somewhere else instead.
Chase Harris
It is.
Julian Campbell
>300+ geo Breh... There's casual, and there's this fucking thread that you gave us.
