Smash is the most accessible because it doesn't require as much skill as the others listed. The cast is likable due to being recognized from other famous titles, and the combat itself has a significantly low skill floor with a moderately high ceiling.
Smash is a party game so more people are willing to try it. It's as much a fighting game as Time Crisis is a FPS.

People play mostly for the lore/story mode, the cool X-Ray/Fatal Blows/Fatalities and the characters. There is an competitive scene but it isn’t as big as Capcom games and Tekken. But at least it still makes better than most anime games
