A bajillion enemies everywhere

>a bajillion enemies everywhere
>overleved enemies everywhere
>enemies go after you for a long time
>narrow paths where you fall to death everywhere
>projectiles everywhere
>bosses very far from bonfires
I finished DS3 and Bloodbrne and this feels way harder. It's fun and addictive like the others, but it doesn't feel very fair. What do you guys think?

It's the most fair of them all kid.

really you think so its just seemed par for the course it wasnt that hard what level are you on?

I killed tower knight, adjudicator and the spider.

Heh

lole

Demon's Souls is way more about surviving the level than beating the bosses. That's where most of the difficulty is, because the bosses are not usually that hard. The game is far more about strategy and planning to take on a gauntlet compared to Dark Soul's technical skill.
The tradeoff is, things that have resistances in Demon's Souls have some huge vulnerabilities in exchange. The best thing is, usually this stuff is kind of obvious. The weakest thrust attack does more damage than an upgraded slashing weapon against an enemy with scales. Obviously, the fire level has fire enemies, so fire resistance help you immensely. One of the bosses is genuinely blind, so stealth has a factor even against bosses.
Dark Souls 3 bosses feel lame because I just know how bloatedly powerful they're going to be because they put a bonfire right before it. In Demon's Souls, you feel absolute dread entering a boss room for the first time, even if it's a total pushover, and I loved it.

Git gud

best souls game tbhlad. i've been thinking about giving it another go lately while i was porting its weapons to porn games.

Just spam grass.

Demon's Souls has the best world difficulty, but the easiest bosses in the series. If we could have Demon's Souls world difficulty with Sekiro boss difficulty, it'd be perfect. Overall best balance between world and boss difficulty in the series is Bloodborne, which incidentally is also the best game in the series.

How do I beat the flamelurker? He’s been exploding me out the ass

If you're then it might be better to try out one of the other stages. The second stages in the worlds that aren't the Boletarian Palace are much more difficult than the first stages in each world.

Thanks! He overwhelms me when he’s on his last leg of health. Where do I find sticky white stuff?

He speeds up as his health decreases (and he possibly gets stronger too). It may be connected to how long the fight goes too, but I'm not sure about that.

>a bajillion enemies everywhere
so kill them
>overleved enemies everywhere
dont go into areas that are above your level
>enemies go after you for a long time
kill them
>narrow paths where you fall to death everywhere
look out for pitfalls retard
>projectiles everywhere
dodge them
>bosses very far from bonfires
dont die

Goddamn I love demons souls. Play on a private server sometimes just to see ghosts in the nexus

It's pretty easy, I only found it hard because it was the first. It's not fair at all but that's because its a game about death and discovery (trial and error) but most of it can be mitigated by simple caution and paranoia.
DS2 has some of the most grueling levels of the series, Shrine of Amana alone makes DeS look like a walk in the park

Man, it really was the best one huh?

*unzips*

FUCK Flamelurker and FUCK the Maneaters

It's not the best, it's too hard.

Nah bro I'm just going to randomly dart around for a while

Attached: Maneater.png (481x496, 194K)

the classic filter boi. dude still kills me when i replay sometimes. what a legend.

Stage X-3 being non-stages sucked dick. Thats my only complaint.
Yellow Turban was an amazing thing back in the day though.

Can we just not have whining threads anymore of any kind I’m so fucking sick of them

I’m not even particularly “””hardcore”””, I’m pretty shit at games and I’m slow to react, but when things get hard I pull up my big boy shorts and play the damn game

no

It was nice how the Boletarian Palace had an extra stage at least. Also, some of the arenas tried to be highly unique themselves, including in how they used enemies. 3-3 did a lot with little too, using the Black Phantom Mindflayers to great effect.

Those squidwards have killed more hosts than old monk summons ever have by an order of magnitude

It's the easiest one guy.

>when I found out you can punch the skeletons and do more damage

Attached: 1527567815276.gif (659x576, 137K)

Easiest fromshit game.

Try some sekiro or dlcs for ds 3 and bloodbirne.

This is truth. I used to farm old monk summons and maybe 1/3 of players actually made it up the staircase to fight me.

>tfw you set up a loot trap and get all ready for a good backstabbin but the host dies to squids
>it keeps happening
>just give up setting up the trap
>start deleting old monk wrappings
>one guy finally makes it to the boss room and just can't muster up the energy to draw out the fight

Also it's funny how some hosts would visibly panic when they realize you're not a NPC

Demon's Souls used the damage types to the greatest effect. Also, fighting unarmed could still be slightly viable, whereas the later games made it utter trash aside from the Covenant of Champions ring.

>host rushes to kill the crystal lizard
>God's Wrath him through the wall and fog gate
>Crystal Lizard disappears
>receive hatemail
>lather, rinse, repeat

>god's wrath people through walls
god, i loved demon's souls multiplayer.

fairness is a relative term, git gud.

god damn this must be ancient

at least 10 years old

WISH YOU NEVER EVER MET EM AT ALL

Bruh, Demon's Souls is all about damage types. Sometimes magic is strong, sometimes fire. Sometimes piercing, sometimes crushing. You get tons of different upgrade materials, use them.
And stop running headfirst into every dangerous situation, take it slow, try stealthing whenever you can.
The LEVEL is the real enemy, the bosses are generally very simple and all about keeping your cool.

>3fags legitimately believe their game is similar to Demon's.
Just how much brain damage do they have?

>Hold shield button
>Become invincible

No other game in the series has such overpowered Shields like DeS. You can play the entire game without rolling once due to how good shields are and how little stamina you lose when blocking.

Flamelurker is an awesome boss but seriously fuck the Maneaters. One of the worst bosses in the series.

dark souls 1 did prepatch. but even then, shields are stupidly good in that game even after the nerf.

bro what
once youve gone through the level once or twice to get items and some souls, you can literally run past every enemy to the boss fog and then faceroll the boss cuz they're all piss ez

i imported the asian version when it came out and i had no clue what i was in for, blasted my ass off. it has an unmatched ambiance i think, especially tower of latria. this and bloodborne are my favourites in the whole series.

>hey kid, that's some nice armor ya got there
>would be a shame if something happened to it

Attached: get wrekt kiddo.jpg (400x357, 54K)

Shrine of Storms is my favorite area in the whole series in terms of atmosphere. Nothing else is like it.

I got Flamelurker second try with melee. Only the shockwave™ punch was a pain in the dick

the shrine is a goodie too, especially once you start descending down into the mountain. now that i think about it, the very start of pretty much every zone gives a really strong feeling of loneliness and quiet dread. the mines is probably the weakest for that but even so it's still good.

op wants to play a game where

>one enemy comes at you at a time
>enemies are always weaker than you throughout the game
>enemies forget about you after you're 20 feet away from them
>no danger of ever falling into a hole
>no projectiles
>an archstone right before every boss

getting invaded by a guy with this for the first time was a nightmare, especially because on my first playthrough i used heavy armour and turtled a lot. i might have to start another game

Most levels unlock a shortcut once you get to end anyway

Post your main weapon, lads.

Attached: penetrating-sword-on-hand.jpg (400x398, 28K)

Demon's Souls is the easiest one by light years.
The game is clearly scaled to a player in soul form with the Cling Ring, shit barely hurts you and you can stunlock everything because poise doesn't exist.

All invalidated by infinite heals.
And the bosses are just garbo.

This, it's only fair.

Well, I must be crazy then, because I finished ds3 and bb ng+3 and never once found anything as frustrating as these levels.

One level has 5 powerful enemies near a cliff and you fight them while mantas shoot lasers at you, err okay. The other is a giant poisonous swamp where you move slowly, then a red girl comes rolling at the speed of light and smashes you with a greatsword. The other you have to fall on platforms in the dark with the awful janky controls. I die and I don't even feel it's my fault.

I'm sad because I was sure I'd love all the games in the series after those two. I guess I'll try DS1 remastered now.

Git gud

Ask a guy who defeated Flamelurker and Maneaters first try anything.

just a crushing halberd
effective in pretty much every situation

>>bosses very far from bonfires
The checkpoint checkpoint checkpoint nature of dark souls was, is, and remains my least favorite deviation from demon's souls.
To me it's the worst thing in the games.

if they had more time and money they would have probably gotten rid of a lot of the bonfires and replaced them with some sort of shortcut instead
at least thats what i like to think

This was the best one. Of them all, this was before they decided they needed to force nonsense on players to make it harder (which they really weren't)

> Dark Soul's technical skill
lmfao.

This, hiking to bosses is basically the same as unskippable cutscenes or worse. you've proved you can traverse the area, what's the point of literally just making you waste time? it doesn't make the game any harder, just less fun to play

The level is just as important if not moreso than the boss, and learning consistency while improving the paths you take is a perfectly valid and interesting part of games.

i cheesed 90% of the game with this weapon

Attached: Lava_Bow.png (58x88, 4K)

Well, I disagree.

There a lot of shit like that in demon's souls too, but in demon's souls the problem is worse. The paths to bosses like tower knight and flamelurker are super easy, so if you die it isn't a test of skill, it's just a test of patience (aka bad game design).
