In X-2 they use Dress Spheres, which contain people's memories, to switch class. Basically a job system. Songstress is one of the jobs, but it turns out to be special because the person whose memories it contains, Lyn, has her consciousness in there too. This causes a small degree of personality bleed into human until they figure out what's going on and she wants to help her, which ties into the Vegnagun plot. As for this specific scene, Yuna's interactions with Lyn convince her that song could be used to help quell the civil war brewing in Spira, so she basically sets up a huge concert. She can only sing because she's using the Songstress Dress Sphere, and Lyn manifests during the song. And despite valuing the experiences, she also learns towards the end that this kind of life isn't really for her.
