Some of the best ideas in the game, the best starting position. Right next to asia and a capital in europe, for easy trade company conquests. Can easily switch to orthodox for even more broken bonuses.

Real Chads play whit smoll nations

It’s like in no lack of better terms a nice beautiful woman opening up her butthole and taking a nice hard solid shit on your chest. It’s heavenly user and it’s why I converted myself from white to Turkish

Baby mode
You are basically unstoppable.

steamroll mode from the very beginning

This. If you want to play Muslim be someone in a tougher position.

it WAS fun pushing their coring cost to the max and going ham on the world coring provinces in under a year, now they're just another blob who gets to the boring part of being strongest way faster than everyone else

They made them so good it's like they don't understand why the Ottomans fell apart at all. Protip: shitting on a third of your population for centuries will make them all too happy to rebel and help destroy you when the first opportunity strikes, talks of 'reform' and 'reconciliation' or not.

What are some fun Muslim countries?

Najd, Oman, and Granada have hard starts but are fun when you secure yourself, easier ones would be Timurids or Mamluks, or even Ottomans if you have the experience to get the most of their strong positions

Oman is a really fun one once you get going because they have some of the most powerful money making ideas in the game. You just need to take exploration early and move your capital out of asia, and then start conquering southeast asia.

I tried Granada recently. Took 2 provinces from Portugal, Castile get rekted by Aragon, then Tunis call me into a war with Morocco(who's also my ally) over one province.
Everything fall apart after that.

G-GERMAN REICHHHHHHHH!

Would the Ottoman have survived if WW1 didnt happen?

>randomly blobbing on catolics
>ottomans still exit
>not conquering jerusalem and mecca
Worst Pope ever.

absolutely disgusting world, I approve

Nice "Empire" there

I'm a Turk and no.There is a reason others called sick man of europa to Ottoman Empire at that era. Tbh ww1 was one of the best things happened to us even that we lost so much people for independence war. Thanks to WW1 we could create a new country. It's sad that what we are now so different from what Atatürk wanted us to be.

No probably not, the Christians despised them for years of abuse (especially the Janissary thing) and the other Muslims outside of Asia Minor hated them too for basically being treated as 'second class' provinces. Ataturk wouldn't have even come to prominence without a distinguished WWI record, and he was more or less the only person who was interested in a secular nation and a nationalist identity that would try to mend such wounds within Turkey itself, let alone in the rest of the Empire.
Ataturk was basically the only one in that whole mess who had his head screwed on right.

Ottomans are easy mode for beginners, especially in EU4, it really does become a map painting simulator for retards, Hell you should eliminate all your real competition before the 1600s. Your literal only concern is a huge euro coalition forming before you're prepared.

I like Mamluks because Arabia is fun to form

>not restauring the roman empire

You disgust me

Fun fact, the Ottomans proclaimed themselves the successors to Rome after they ruined the Byzantines and all their people.

yeah so OP can be just like literally everyone else who has booted up a grand strategy game

Okay, I'm trying Granada again. Wish me luck.

R8 yurop

the Ottomans don't start their decline until the very last period of the game, a period which paradox never really balances for well. they're supposed to be a near unstoppable rape train at start.

god damnit

i'm really not a fan of the vocals added to stonemasons, and that it supersedes the classic songs if you enable it. the stonemasons alone is why i never use it, the regular song is a classic

all that work....

>Iberian wedding
I give up. I'm not good enough at the game to do this.

I don't understand why anybody outside of absolute beginners desperate for a safe position to learn the basics of a Paradox game would play the Ottomans OR France. It's like starting up an RPG and choosing to play as the final boss and spending up 60 hours waiting for any heroes to show up inside the final dungeon.

My apologies, user

Are you going for achievements, user? I just can't stand vanilla EUIV graphics, everything looks plastic.

Attached: 20190715231136_1.jpg (1600x900, 373K)

what't this map mode again?

Theatrum Orbis Terrarum, I think

Eh, at least with Rome you have to actually try as Byzantium, and in CK2 Byzantium has to fight either the Abbasids in early bookmarks (which usually extends into fighting the Shia event), the HRE, later on, and their map position means that they'll bear the brunt of Genghis, and if you enable them, the Aztecs.

It's Germania that's retard mode. Shit in CK2, you get a plot mandated rampage that autowins you Germania, and both Prussia and Austria start as GPs in Vic2.

>Are you going for achievements
Nope, I just want to try Granada because they got update in the latest expansion and I've never play them before.
Turn out it's too hard for me.

>That mangled Europe
Good lord.

I've never done Granada, only Byzantium back when having galleys meant something, but I'm sure you can do it, user, even if it takes a couple restarts. Plus that's when the game's at its most interesting I think, the first century or so. What happens if you shoot yourself into a dozen loans and try to drown Castille in infantry?

Attached: 20190715232002_1.jpg (1600x900, 435K)

>What happens if you shoot yourself into a dozen loans and try to drown Castille in infantry?
Bankruptcy, most likely. I don't think you can outnumber Castile with Granada.

1453 was a mistake

>I don't understand why anybody outside of absolute beginners desperate for a safe position to learn the basics of a Paradox game would play the Ottomans OR France
because it's fun conquering the world.

Not with Granada alone, but if you can get an alliance with one of the north african states in time, it might be just enough, and money from the war can help pay back a handful of those loans. Worth a try, yes?

Very much so, but I'd still prefer to pick somebody in opposition to them but still hideously strong, like Timurids, Mamluks, Russia, and so on.

They didn't fall apart at all during the game's time frame. They were a major player in World War One ffs.

The biggest problem the Ottomans had during the EU4 period was that their Janissary corps eventually became too politically powerful and suffered a corresponding drop off in military effectiveness. They didn't want to fight and die anymore after tasting wealth and power but couldn't let a more competent military unit come into existence because that would threaten their position, so the empire was left without any worthwhile military at all and they got their asses kicked in almost every war from that point onward. They actually fixed this problem at got semi-decent at fighting again in the 19th century.

>Timurids
The timurids are probably easier to WC with in my opinion than the ottomans. Mughal ideas and government are absolutely broken and you're in an even better position to conquer India and China. Honestly, the ottomans have been nerfed in almost every patch for the last couple years. Just about any horde is easier to WC with.

>Ming, Spain and Portugal keep declaring war on me

>proceed to rape them

these so called great powers can't touch me with their primitive navy

Attached: Untitled.jpg (1920x1080, 770K)

So like history?

>No Spain
>No Egypt
A dream...

I wish navies were more useful in this game. Ultimately there's just not a lot that you can do with them compared to armies, even though playing the naval game is fun

They are pretty much always pointless because trade routes or pirates are never implemented in a way that encourages their development and they don't hardly help in sieging coastal cities

>tripfag

I formed malaya with one of the natives a long time ago, breaking the spice trade and pirating the fuck out of Ming and Indian nations was surprisingly fun.

Heavy ships can siege bombard before artillery so they're more useful for that now.

Play Byzochads instead

>heavy ships are useful before mil tech 6
wow now my spain campaign is easier thanks paradox

Rate.

This fills me with ire

no they didn't brainlet. the Ottomans helplessly had their ass taken over and over by the Russians throughout the 19th century. they even got fucked by Egypt and their continued existence as a state was wholly dependent on powers like Great Britain and France

Be a shame if something happened to it.

I said semi-decent, not good. Russia was a top tier military power in the 19th century and even being fairly decent wasn't enough to beat them in a war, though the Ottomans did win several battles against them, including the opening battle of the Crimean War. The Egyptian war happened too soon after the Auspicious Incident for the Ottoman military to have recovered from purging the Janissaries. Mehmed Ali was cagey and knew the best time to strike. After the 1830s though the ottomans managed to become better than their regional competitors and modernized their military so it could fight well enough to not need help except against an actual great power like Russia. The French invasion of Algeria always had the toughest time when they went up against Turkish troops that got lent to various Algerian chiefs by Ottoman military governors.

The started to decline again under Abdul Hamid II until they got so bad they lost the first Balkan War in the 20th century, but they did win a small war against Greece in the early 1890s.

England, Poland, Brandenburg, Holland, and Muscovy are my favorite countries to play r8 my taste.

How?>
