How is it possible that both of the games are written by literally the same exact people. The difference in writing is night and day. Grand Theft Auto V writing is so disjointed and all over the place. There is a lack of focus and feels so ADHD ridden.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the best written games of all time. The characters for example are so brilliantly written and have a nice layer of depth and complexity to them. I feel Red Dead Redemption is Rockstar's true passion and GTA is now nothing more than their cashgrab series.
GTAV felt disjointed because it was stretched too thinly across three main characters with little room for character development.
In RDR2, they clearly learned from their mistakes in GTAV's writing. They managed to develop Arthur, Dutch, and a bit towards the end, John without it ending up too shallow.

>muh anti hero who constantly questions what he's doing the writing sucks, don't you ever get tired of this trope?

They had no idea how to write Trevor. One minute he is this sociopath drug addict lunatic and the next minute he is this whiny bitch who is always in his feelings. It was so inconsistent
this is just a pipe dream but imagine rockstar releasing rdr2 and rdr1 on pc totally remastered in just one game so you play the rdr2 first then jump straight to rdr sequel without switching games. could it be possible to merge both massive games with the current tech?

Simple. GTAV is a fun game. RDR2 is a pretentious art project
